We have come to the end of the first round. We cleared up two of our ties, only to get a third. Our last match involves:

Fuji-an energy being inside of a nigh-indestructible body suit. He is around 8-9 feet tall, with great strength and is a capable fighter.

vs

Sting-a high level mentalist, possessing both telekinetic and telepathic ablilities. He has lifted as much as cars full of people and flown them over long distances. He has, on occasion, used his ability to take control of people's minds for a short while. He is considered to be the strongest mentalist in the Valiant Universe.(as a comparison, he is close to the Jean/Pheonix level of TK and almost to the Xavier level of telepethy)

Today's battle will take place in-
The South Pole

Round1-

Optimus Prime vs Grimlock-Optimus Prime
Dorothy Spinner vs Jenny Sparks-Jenny Sparks
Megatron vs Magnus-Megatron
Samendahl Rey vs Savage Dragon-Savage Dragon

THe previous tie was broken as I was writing this up. However, voting is still open in all matches until tomorrow evening. So if there is a result you don't like, the try and get people to vote.

Sting

Fuji can't fly, so Sting can just hang in the air and bash him into the ground until the caves in. That is assuming Fuji is resistant to mental attacks.

I'm not entirely sure how indestructible Fuji's armour is as well. He's dead - slain by a swarm of Alien drones (yes, as in Aliens vs. Predator "Aliens").

Couple that debatable armour strength and the fact that Fuji doesn't really have mental defenses that spring to mind and I have to give this to the X-knock-off. ;)

Vote: Sting

Well Fuji does not have a physical body anymore. He is inside the containment suit, which looks like a body. Inside the containment suit he is a highly toxic gas. He is a super strong guy, whose been part of Stormwatch for quite a few years dealing with supervillians and the like. With that being said he doesn't eat, sleep, have a physical brain (so no mental attacks as far as I can recall in any Stormwatch issue), freeze to death (which battling in the South Pole will come in very handy!)

I give it to Fuji based on the South Pole, Fuji won't freeze even if dropped in the Ocean, Sting would. I think he'll freeze to death leaving Fuji the winner.

my vote = Fuji

I'd probably have to go with Fuji. It seems like a lot of his power is focused on his telepathy, and I don't believe that would work on an energy being.

Sting sounds like a SHW. Phoenix and Xavier combined is above HW.

Fuji is a living consciousness, and as such is succeptible to mental attack. That said, though, I give it to Fuji due to the surroundings.

Fuji!

I don't know...I still have to wonder about the durability of Fuji's shell and whether or not Sting can just peel it or crack it. Like I said, Fuji was killed - dead as a door nail, armour punctured, no more shall he grace the pages of comics until some writer risks the Barb of Ellis - by an Alien drone. Not a queen, not an alpha alien...a drone. That just doesn't sound durable to me. :)

I do agree, however, that Sting sounds a wee bit powerful for this division so if he loses, I don't mind too terribly. :)
