Overall the episode was entertaining, however who here really thinks that Batman would jump on Mongul to try and stop him?
On the show they have been making Batman super smart. Mongul would have killed him with one blow. He should have stayed away and used his equipment or something.

See, I thought the episode was pure ####.
Here we are, with only the second episode of Unlimited, and all we see are Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman. This could have been a regular Justice League episode. I want to see more heroes and more villains. Instead I get a return of a previous villain and a Kryptonian dog that poos on the floor.
On the bright side, at least GL wasn't in it.

Hi Mr P.
Good to hear from you. Hopefully soon I will be able to make it back to your tournaments.
I knew before hand that they were going to make one with the 3 main characters and was happy when they said they picked the best comics story that had the 3. So I wasnt going into it not expecting it. I could definitely see how it could be frustrating when you are ready and expecting to see new characters.
The poo was kinda random but I did like seeing their view of Superman's perfect life and teaching his son about responsibility. I cant imaging how shocked and pissed I would be if I found out my almost 3 year old was not real.
Can't say I'm impressed with the new show yet. I really injoyed Justice League with the running stories and epic events. They may have rehashed some old material, but they did it in a compelling way. So far, Justice League Unlimited's stories are too short and trite.
I'm hoping that it gets better as the writers settle in to the show...

Well, it's not like I'm gonna stop watching or anything. Heck, I still watch the Teen Titans cartoon (and boy did it have a doozy on Saturday!). I just wanted some more variety after that huge group shot in the first episode of Unlimited. I actually want to see folks like Mr. Miracle do something. :)
I am also a bit concerned about the 30 minute stories, but I'm hoping they'll do continuations or (heaven forbid) an ongoing storyline. The format of two 30 minute episodes in Justice League seemed to work out pretty well for decent stories.

I haven't seen the cartoon but this is one of my favorite pre-crisis Superman stories in it's comic form. How did the cartoon compare?

Ignatz,
You mentioned it was a good pre-Crisis story. Where would a person find a copy to read? Was it collected into a trade paperback?
Thanks,
Jake

on the first episode they show more than 30 guest stars and i wait all of episode 2 for one and get batman and wonderwoman. What a letdown!

Superman Annual 11
It collected here (http://www.dccomics.com/graphic_novels/?gn=1324) .
Great story. So is the Batman annual, the Swamp Thing "Team up" and the Stranger Origin. Heck, the whole book's pretty cool.

I am also worried about the 30 minute episodes. Other nit piks..
If Superman gets a present in a lead container I would not think he would say..."Hmmm. Let me see what is in here.. it cannot be from one of my enemies."
If Superman beat Mongul before what makes Mongul think he could take Superman on again one on one and playing fair and square.
