Alright gang, MangaFox's topic on the best games ever made me want to make a worst games ever topic.

Remember though guys, these are opinions, nothing to get mad about at each other.

Here's the stuff I don't like and why:

GTA series: Oh boy, you get to kill, take cars, hookers, etc. Yep, fun waiting to happen. Wow. This game made me really go to sleep (seriously!)

Any FirstPersonShooter [FPS] (except halo, which I have yet to play): Highly overrated games IMO. Especially stuff like Goldeneye, Metroid Prime, etc. I thought they were just boring. I want to see OUTSIDE of my character, not through their eyes.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front - Good premise, but horrible controls. Not to mention that the RX-79 Gundam can kill us in one hit.

First off I'm gonna come to the defense of GTA and first person shooters. While I'm personally not a big GTA fan I can understand the draw, the GTA games grant the player more freedom than almost any other game that exists, there is just stuuf everywhere for you to do, not a set story to follow or anything like that just an environment to interact with in as much detail as the designers could abstractly program, the only other serieses like it in that regard that I can think of are Elder Scroll, and Ultima (some of the older to middle ones anyway). Plus the attention to detail in Vice City is unbeleivable, the radio plays real songs, you can literaly find your way through LA useing the game as a map, that took a lot of effort.

First Person shooters are, to my mind, designed to be multi-player, the single player mode is fun sometimes, but over the internet or in a room full of people is just fun.

anyway some terrible game:

1.Spelunker:this is an old NES game where you are exploring a cave, the backround os always the same, the walls and floor are alwyas the same, there are like 3 or 4 tracks of music, and it is brain bustingly hard, I've died several times trying to just get off the elevator at the begining.

2.7th Saga:I respect difficulty in a game, but good gravy, this is way too tough.

3.This game for the PC called "Trucks" or "Trucker" or something: in this game your race 18 wheelers, the back of the box advertises cop chases, freight delivery and 4 playable trucks. There is 1 playable truck, there are no police cars anywhere, there is no freight, your one opponent never moves. In addition the physics are ridiculous, you can turn in place and drive straight up walls as well as stop on a dime, on one of the 4 levels there is a bridge, which you can feel free to avoid as falling in the water in no way slows you, it is like a bad game idea that is still in the developmental stages, but got released anyway.

My vote goes for Super Bikkuriman, a snes fighter based on the Bikkuriman anime, the gameplay is clunky for lack of a better word, the collision boxes horible, and the few special moves each character has, are impossible to use (I have yet to pull one off!). The character designs are ok, but it doesnt quite matter, as only two of them are playable in the arcade mode. After you beat the game, you recieve a code to use the others, but you can only use them for one match, and than the game resets. I cant recall the difficulty I played on, but I once beat the game by for the most part just jump kicking again and again, that about speaks for itself. ^_^

Dragonball Z trading card game. There's a system that doesn't even need retirement, each expansion buries the last.

tb - oh, you meant video games. Robodemons (NES)

I prefer first person shooters to third because why would you wanna see outside your person... It's too hard... although I am a fan of Vice City...

GTA kinda wasnt as good as I thought, Everyone had been acting like this was the greatest game ever but I finally convinced my mother to let me get it (I am 15) I played it got bored quickly maybe because i had such high hopes but still I beat and shelved it. Seriously overrated game, waaay overrated. Multiplayer Halo kicks the $#&*@ out of it.

Well, I don't agree with the opening statement, but it is based on opinion.

Mortal Kombat 4: Not even close to what the franchise was. Good thing the creator took over for Deadly Alliance.

Twisted Metal 3 and 4: Same as MK4. But TM: black made it all better.

Desert Storm II:Back to Baghdad
words can not describe how much i hate this game, for $6 bucks i rented this game, i wanted a different soldier game to play so i got this
big mistake
first off, the controls are horrible, i can barley move and shoot, my team dies right away and my grenades go like 3 feet

cant forget the mary kate and ashley games lets go shopping

other than that i would have to say Yu-Gi-Oh TCG, after i got over the initial "impulse" i realized how little strategy there is in the game so i burned my cards which, of course were worthless by the time i quit

GTA is cool. Not for those wanting a deep storyline or set objectives. Its almost like a digital toy box for grown ups.
You cant just say an entire genre sucks. Some FPS' are pretty good, though most of my favorites are on the PC and definitely not the console (with the exception of halo).
And yes, Twisted Metal: Black was awesome, more than made up for 3 & 4. Just wish it had the excellent level design of the original Vigilante 8, then it would be perfect.
But on topic, here are some of the worst games ive ever played:

Spawn (psone): WOW, was this game garbage. I got it as a christmas gift, imagine my face as i opened up the packaging. Heh, its the thought that counts though.

Bubsy (sp?): Any version, doesn't matter. Hated them all.

Rugrats (psone): the 3d graphics actually made me nauseous.

Last Action Hero (SNES): No one i knew could make it past the first part of the first level.

World Heroes (SNES): Man, was this street fighter clone garbage.

And these are probobly gonna ruffle some feathers:

Vagrant Story (psone): That whole weapon effectivness system just killed it for me.

FFVIII and X: Didnt really like the stories or the characters. Didnt like the fact that after 10 games the battle system was still essentially the same, just different gimmicks. Some times it felt like my role in these games was just to scroll text. Sometimes the mini-games were more fun than the game itself. These games just didnt capture hold on to me like FFVII/VI/V/IV did. Still anticipating the new one though...

Just my two cents.

I didn't think Vagrant story was that bad, it wasn't that good, but I don't think it is worthy of being one of the worst games ever. It really helped that at the time I was a wrestling fan though. As I played that game it dawned on me that it paralled an incredibly funny time in WWF prowrestling. In Vagrant Story, your character, a bunch of knights, and some weird religious cultists are vying for control of this ancient ruined city. So what you got is a bunch of fighting between a single extremely badass individual, agents of "the man", and some weird evil religion freaks. Then it hit me: this game is about The Corporation, The Ministry, and Stone Cold Steve Austin! After that I started nameing all the weapons that I made after wrestling finishing moves, and it made the game much more amuseing.

FPS games are horrible in my opinion, withthe exception of GoldenEye...i love that game

I agree that FFVIII and X are the worst FF games ever, then again i have a problem with whiny characters and i didnt like squall or tidus at all...and dont even get me started on FF X-2...

and Rando, i like your sig..i take it you read the Bob and George webcomic? or am i just assuming things again :P

Nah, fraid not, my sig is part of the intro of an old old Final Fight style side scrolling video game entitled "Bad Dudes", at least that is where I'm familiar with it.

Dragon Power, NES - Worst game ever.
You were this little sprite guy, running around the board punching and kicking rediculous looking monsters. There were little doorways/tunnels to go in, in which there were bosses that you had to jump and kick. I got the game cheap, and would play it after school. It was so rediculously stupid that it was entertaining.
After a couple of days, I could get up to this amazingly difficult level. If any enemies touched you, you would die. If you tried to jump over them, they would instantly move to where you were landing. It took about 2 1/2 hours to get to this point in the game, and there were no "continues" or codes to get you back to the level you finished at.
After 3 days of getting to the same point and not being able to get past it, I had had enough. The game had pushed me to the limit. I wanted to beat this game, to laugh at how dumb it was. But the game's designers had a different idea.

I went down to the basement and took a ball-peen hammer to the cartrige. It felt great to destroy something so horrible.
Worst game ever, hands down.

Dragon power is the US release of the Dragonball NES game right? I still dont see why they changed the characters designs for the localization.

As cool as Batman is, his games are quite horrible. The best of them being Batman Vengeance due to it's sneaking around and 500 fighting combos-but fails due to annoying platform jumping, one on one fighting (give me something where Batman gets to beat up EVERYBODY), and something that can be done pretty quickly if you know what you're doing. The worst Batman game would be the Gotham City Racers, although the cutscenes were good, the graphics and physics were very crummy.

Oh man....I was gonna mention this on the favorite games thread...I figured some didn't like it but it was also the first PS game I really go into (I resisted video games in my adulthood for many years). Anyway, I like that you could create weapons by combining some other weapons...sort of unpredictable but I thought it was a cool feature.

Yeah, could be. But it doesn't change the fact that the game was actually torture to play... :)

Yeah, Vagrant Story was the bomb. My vote for worst ever - Heroes of the Lance. I loved the books (Dragon Lance), and was totally pumped to play this game. And it was terrible.

Anyone remember Shatterhand from the NES? All the enemies have machine guns, you've got a metal hand...

Gotta go with Golgo 13 for the NES: atrocious play control.

Spider-Man and the X-Men, SNES. Storm's levels were wretchedly hard, and how does Wolverine keep from getting run over by the Juggernaut?!

As far as the hardest game, try Spider-Man, Maximum Carnage, SNES. Great game, great play control, but not very original. Every 2nd round, you get ganged by the bosses, Doppleganger, Shriek, Demogoblin, and Carrion.

Might & Magic IX. The entire Might and Magic series was the most fun I've ever had on a computer. Each game got more and more fun, and I still go back and play the old M&M 4&5. Might and Magic IX is the only game I've ever returned to the store simply because it sucked too much. They changed the game we all loved 180 degrees, I hated the new graphics engine, they made the weapons and items go from cool full sized images that you could drag over to your character and wear and made them into little half inch icons that look like they were from M&M 1 or 2. They need to go back to the graphics engine they were using in 6-8, and just write a new, fun story that classic fans will enjoy. Screw you M&M 9. Worst. Game. Ever.

I would have to say, all the wrestling games made by THQ after dumping AKI. I haven't found any WWE wrestling games to enjoy on any of the next gen systems. Please THQ join up with AKI again and get us a great multiplayer game!!

However worst game ever: Superman on the Xbox. UGH!

Agreed. The first one hit game I ever played and broke a controller on. Everything hit you and killed you. Over and over again.

I'll also throw out Fantastic Four for the PS. The best part about what should have been a great four player game was playing the racing game between levels. In fact, my brothers and I would forego the levels sometimes and just keep racing. That's the epitome of terrible.

Hey, I think the Smackdown games for PS2 are pretty good. THe aki games were the bad ones I thought. Well, at least they were better thane the ones done by Acclaim.

Worst game? Wow, that's a hard one. X-men for NES blew, but my pick for worst game ever has to be Irai-Bo. For those who aren't into the japanese, it means Irritating stick. All you had to do was keep a light-saber thing away from the border while said border moves. I felt like pulling a beavis & butthead and throwing it out the window with an M-80 through the middle. DIE IRAI-BO, DIE!

Well I can if I have played most of the "Best" ones and they are too hard for me and put me to sleep in 5 minutes anyways. Metroid Prime is the only one I'll give props too. I've been told if I get past this one area I was at, it gets better, so I'm gonna try it again. Other than that, they're really no fun at all to me, and I don't like any of them at all. I just think all FPS's are bad unless you can switch out of first person mode. I just can't do well in FP mode.
