It would be pretty expensive to produce though... Capcom makes the most sense, because of the Capcom-Marvel connection...

Guile,Ryu,Mega Man, Strider, and hopefully guys like Dante from devil may cry, and some Resident Evil zombies...

I would like to see Namco as well, Tekken characters, and Pacman...

Honestly, this sounds like a very bad idea. I idea behind Heroclix is that you're playing with comic book heroes, not video game stars. If I wanted to play with Chun-li and Link, I'd pop a disc/cartridge into my console of choice and fire it up. Guys like Green Arrow and Hank Pym are harder to come by. Throw Megaman into the mix and it takes away the unique feel of Heroclix.

That being said, I'm cool with this joint venture with NCSoft. CoH in many ways captures the same feel and excitement of Heroclix. You've got that capability to mix and match powers, heroes, and villians while paying homage to the comics that inspire these creations. If they want to create an occasional fig based on an NPC legend, that's fine. For all intents and purposes, they are comic book characters. Mario, however, is most definitely not.

Gamebrain does make a point. I used similar reasoning in deciding not to get Sportsclix. If I want to play Baseball, I'll either pick up a bat and glove or pop the game in the Xbox, not play something with rules more complicated than the game itself.

However, this would be a great addition for those of us who play clix and love video games! Depending on the licensing, I would definitely pick up a case of Videoclix.

How about a magic mushroom feat card that lets Mario become a giant fig? Goombas and Koopa Troopers as generics!

I would really want to see clix from the following games: SSBM, Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, and Virtua Fighter to name a few.

What makes you think that there will be another Indy set? No prize support in months, no updates to the rules. no mention of a set, and the fact that everything regarding Indy has been shelved along with Shadowrun, Creepy Freaks, and Crimson Skies-means that it will take a miracle for another Indy set to ever see the light of day.

09/06/2004, 20:18
Also TMNT is a very iffy issue. I want them to be made as much as the next guy, but Playmates has the toy rights for our favorite reptiles. Whether such agreements include non-articulated miniatures or not is unknown to me. If I were to speculate, however, I think that Playmates was rather restrictive with the rights. I mean, who wouldn't think to put well-known Mirage characters into an Indy set.

Classic Eastman & Laird TMNT.......yes.

Voltron, DBZ, video game characters, and anime stuff.....no.

Lets stick to comics people, not whatever trend the kiddies think is "hot" these days.

I have no problem with CoH clix. I havent played the game personally, but I see the connection.

However since they are doing CoH clix, Id love to see some Freedom Force clix. It would be perfect timing too with Freedom Force vs The Third Reich looming on the horizon.

Voltron is a comic, or at least it was, considering I have several issues. Image did it, and it is very good. So, actually, Voltron is more than acceptable, and you really don't think Voltron is perfect as a giant click?

By that reasoning there should be Barbie, Gumby, Alf, and Married with Children clix too.

Heroclix is a game based on costumed superheroes, not anime mecha combat.

Now if someone wants to make a Voltron type miniatures game, thats fine. It just doesnt belong on the same table as Spiderman and Batman.

Transformers Clix! Marvel did an 80 issue epic back in the 80s-90s and Dreamwave recently started publishing a few series of its own.

At the very least, make a Spider-Man with an Autobots TA from the time he teamed up with Optimus Prime in Transformers #3!

You're missing the point.

Lots of things have been made inot comics, that doesnt mean they fit into the theme of superheroic characters. Heroclix is based on precisely that, super heroes.

Voltron is an anime cartoon about giant robots. They may have made a comic book in the spirit of the show, but that doesnt mean they're considered comic book superheroes.

And yes, I do have Married with Children comic books, I believe they were printed by NOW Comics in the early 90s.

Mr. Mechanical (sentinal sized)
Mr. Mechanical Robots (giantman/bat sentry sized, generic robot figs)
Pinstripe
Mobsters (generics)

I would not buy a video-game based set because the only video games I play are superhero games and Pro Wrasslin' games, for the most part. And some Grand Theft Auto from time to time. Superheroes are already in clix, but the others don't need to be.

I don't give a carp about Tekken or Mortal Deathbat or any of those relentlessly stupid boring fight games that are all the same. I never really played Marvel vs. Capcom because I don't give a carp about Capcom anything.

Hogwash. There's a nude Lara Croft series starring a Playmate named Petra Verkaik in the role.

Although I wouldn't object much to a Bloodrayne Heroclix. Let's see, a red-haired vampire in black leather with two pistols? Just put her on a 2000 AD base and call her Durham Red - that's where the game designers stole the look of their character in the first place. Man, I'd so buy that set up if it had the Sailor Scouts in it. (Fantastic Four team ability) :p

But seriously, Heroclix doesn't really work for most anime lines. DBZ would just be figures like KC Supes and then you'd have what Love Hina characters trying to beat them up?

I like my anime too, and would support something like animeclix, but as heroclix I think it doesn't fit.

Won't stop me from making Final Fantasy Clix or CLAMP Clix though. ;)

I'd buy it if it was Capcom. We need some generic zombies. Plus the Street Fighter folks transfer over pretty well.

Plus, as some of the comic folks among us know, Marvel wasn't the first super humans the Street Fighters have met. Try Ferret from the Protectors. I think they fit pretty well all things considered.

A bunch of oddly super powered beings, a bad man with plans for world domination (and of course has a funky accent).

I'd love an SNK vs. Capcom set, but it does raise the question of how they could stat out a whole set of hand-to-hand fighters without being too repetiive. Then again, the idea of Kyo as a click is ####ing awesome.

As much as I am a fan of the Bloodrayne video game and look forward to the next one, I would also be disappointed if she got made into clix form before the comic versions that she was "borrowed" from.

I didn't know about Durham Red, but I know of another dual-blade wielding vampire babe dressed in tight black and red leather who came before Rayne: Vampi by Kevin Lau. Of course his creation was an anime-esque spinoff of Vampirella, but Vampi comics were a lot of fun to read, and his art is real easy on the eyes. ;) Even though she's yet another Stealth/BCF/Super Senses type character, I was hoping another Indy set would come along and include her. Fat chance, I know... but I was a Magdalena fan before most people knew who she was, and she managed to make it to the first Indy set! So maybe lightning can strike twice. ;)

With so much more conventional characters yet to be made (Marvel, DC and Indy), can we forget about some anime or videogame clix for, say, 5 years or so ? ;)

Anime characters, Mortal Kombat, Final Fantasy and Street Fighter have nothing to do with Heroclix as I see it. City of Heroes figures are OK because they are really of the same stuff and theme, and if possible only in a reasonable quantity, but the others are really different. Why not make some movies characters too ? Please keep Heroclix a superheros game, not a senseless mixing of every known characters without any link beetween them except their popularity. Why not Star Trek (Mr Spock vs Darkseid someone ?), why not Dirty Harry, why not Terminator clix, why not Rocky Horror Picture Show clix ? :ermm:

I could live with a City of Heroclix expansion - I simply wouldn't feel compelled to have them all. Expanding into the videogame character genre is one direction that WK could go. For every overlicensed Mario, Yu-Gi-Oh, or Tomb Raider character, there's a Final Fantasy or Street Fighter series - oops, no, they're pretty licensed-out too ... hmmm, anyone up for City of Pac-Man?
Conversely, there are other genres to be mined - cartoon shows in particular. Cartoon Network, Hanna-Barbara, heck, even Disney (anyone waiting for that Jasmine/Snow White vs. Captain Hook and the pirates match-up?) would tap the youth market - which must be explored if WK hopes to keep Heroclix going -, the nostalgia market (Jonny Quest clix!), and would also take advantage of the huge benefit of marketing in the mass media (I think Ed, Edd, and Eddy clix would sell hotter than superheroes!). It's a marketing ploy that would put pirates ships to shame.

I like the idea of playing Capcom vs. Marvel in miniature form. Heck, I was the one who got Capcom's licensing department interested in it.

However, I agree that I don't want to see the waters muddied, as it were. I think I'd hurl if my Batman had to have a serious fight against a Servebot.

As for video game clix in general, I know the desire is there, but whether it will be a reality (outside of Statesman) is yet to be seen. Also keep in mind, this set that Statesman will be a part of might be very small. It might only be city of heroes characters and not all video game characters.

Oh, man, we're gonna do AE's of Realms Members? I want either SimonMoon5, because of the infamous DC Trivia "Jimmy Olsen Question", or GailSimone, because I still think Arsenal's going to nail Black Canary.

All in good fun, Simon...

That would be Kinda Interesting

I would have 3 Archenemys.

Rookie Manchine Would be Thugit

Exp Manchine would be Ohoni

Vet Manchine would be Opherues (Not right spelling but he is new.)

My AE's:

Rookie - Ohoni

Experienced - pashmina/chairdriver

Veteran - Rokk Krin (just because we argue alot, not because I don't like him)

Anyways, I am totally hoping for a Jak click or a Ratchet click!

I have a feeling that quite a few people would have Ohoni as an AE.

Only problem with that is that then every other person would be an AE to each other, consequently. Some new rules might have to be written up for "those" kind of AEs.

What's wrong with Street Fighter clix? It's an ongoing comic series.

Nothing is wrong with it. It would be great to have them as figures in Hero Clix.

Def going to miss your hint lists. what does this mean for WhoClix (an awesome site! :) ) ? Will you still be updating that?
