My team:
198 V Doc Doom
19 R Avalanche
48 R Solomon Grundy
32 E Black Cat
41 R Johnny Alpha
41 E Batgirl
68 V Cyborg
18 E DEO Agent
12 V Paramedic
97 V Firelord
20 R Destiny
versus
Starving Galactus
Anyway, we played this game several times and I lost repeatedly.
Some stray thoughts: It was funny. One time I moved my Batgirl out as bait on my first turn so she could Perplex from a forward position. I figured if big G bagged her, I could make him pay hard for choosing to only kill a 41 point fig and be in range of Doom, Firelord, and a TK'd V Cyborg for the full damage Pulse Wave.
Wrong.
He based Batgirl, crushed her, and went back to his starting area. So we started again.
I (unfortunately) had to go first, so my DEO and batgirl prepped for Perplex but did not move off their starting position.
Galactus passed since he could not attack my figs with 1st turn immunity.
My turn...
Batgirl and DEO push.
Doom is TK'd out 6 spaces. Solomon Grundy follows to be adjacent. Doom copies 2000 AD and RS's big G for 6 damage with a 13 attack! Pow! Big G takes 4!
Avalanche covers the starting area with a Barrier.
Here is where my opponent "lost" the game, but even with this mistake he still almost one. He chose to shred Solomon Grundy with two attacks and move up. My friend later conceded that while Doom was a threat, removing my nasty support figs (Black Cat, Destiny, DEO, Batgirl and even the Paramedic should have been his next move.
From there it was a slugfest. Firelord was TK'd up, Doom eventually got hit, the Paramedic failed to heal Doom back to MM, Cyborg got in a hit, and in general my pieces were getting creamed.
With barely any attackers to speak of, injured Cyborg opens up for 2 damage and needed a 10 to hit! Whoo-Hooo! Big G goes down on his last click!
