I don't know, could be good if it was a Sinister Six flick.
Put Harry in as the Hobgobblin (expediant to have him play hobby without trying to cram the convoluted mix between the two goblins), Doc Ock back, fight Electro or Mysterio to start. They get busted out by Hobby, who creates the other, and hires Kraven to fight Spidey. Something along those lines.

Well if they get a new person to play Spidey then it would be really scary

spiderman 3 rumors (http://www.efavata.com/CBM/Spiderman3.htm)
Synopsis: With the phenomenal record-breaking success of Spider-Man, fans can look forward to future installments in the adventures of the Marvel hero. Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are signed to return in Spider-Man 3 as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. With Spider-Man 2 due in July 2004, Spider-Man 3 should arrive two years later. There is now talk of the appearance of Man-Wolf and Venom!
News and Rumors:
Click here to download the Spider-man Screensaver!November 30, 2004: Speaking with Sci-Fi Wire, Director Sam Raimi announced that he and his brother Ivan are still in the earliest stages of writing a third "Spider-Man" movie: "We've finished a 50-page document and now I'm working with my storyboard artist to work out some of the visuals...and I'm about to start working with Alvin Sargent [who received the "Screenplay by" credit on Spider-Man 2] on the first draft of the screenplay." Raimi confirmed he's still undecided about the bad guy, toying around with different possibilities for a chief villain or villains to duke it out with Peter Parker - "I actually haven't figured it out just yet. I'm trying to determine Peter Parker's journey as a human being, what it is that he'll be learning on this next adventure, as a kid growing up, what life lessons [he'll experience]. Once I know what that is, I'm going to try to develop obstacles in his path, like any dramatic writer would do. And out of those conflicts will come the drama. Either he'll be able to overcome these conflicts or he won't. But once I know his journey, and therefore the conflicts that are in his path, I'll choose that villain that best represents those conflicts. That's the way in which I've been approaching this, and I'm still not quite there in determining the villain." The third "Spiderman" is scheduled for May 4th 2007. Thanks to 'Darkhorizons' for the heads up!
October 11, 2004: Sam Raimi surprised a lot of press this weekend when he revealed that Columbia Pictures intends for "Spider-Man 3" to be the final film in the series. Seems, Sony's film head Amy Pascal has made it clear that she wants a definitive finale and so all the loose threads from the last two films must be tied up. So what does that mean story wise? Raimi spoke to LatinoReview about the possibilities and what that might mean for the Harry Osborn/Hobgoblin arc: "I'm not sure what's in Harry's mind. I'm trying to figure that out right now. It's like if you blamed someone for the death of your father all these years and someone who was supposedly this hero, vigilante, and then you realized that your father was a mass murderer, it might change things...As much of a responsibility as I have to the fans of the comic books, I also have an equal responsibility to be true to the intelligence of the character as portrayed in the Spider-Man movies". Despite Pascal's intentions, Raimi seemed keen on working on further Spidey movies if he were allowed to but will concede to her wishes for now - "One thing that Amy Pascal told me was that she wants to make this a proper ending to the Spider-Man saga. I'd like to keep directing Spider-Man movies but I think she's thinking that the audience feels they want to see one more and no more. They want to have a proper ending to the story now. So I think maybe she's right, and so I'm approaching it under her guidance and that's how I'm trying to think of this film as the end". Thanks to 'DarkHorizons' for the news.
October 10, 2004: An 'Anonymous' scooper claims he has heard, from a "Hollywood Insider", that Lindsay Lohan was being considered for a part in the next Spider-man movie. He goes on to say she might be up for a character named Firestarter or Firestar. In the old 80's cartoon "Spider-man and His Amazing Friends" Spider-man teams up with Iceman and a one Firestar, aka Angelica Jones. Hmmm... We'll have to wait and she if this pans out. Thanks to 'Nathan' and 'Sean' for the Firestar info.
July 21, 2004: Sam Raimi on the Spider-man 3 story: "It's going to follow the natural progression of the growth of these two individuals, Mary Jane Watson and Peter Parker. It will be a love story and it will track the relationship as they encounter new conflicts that separate them. And hopefully their own will and love for each other will bring them back together in the piece. Harry will be a problem, but I'm not certain if Harry will become the Goblin or not. The thing I'm really not certain about is if he comes to feel, "Now I have the means to destroy Spider-Man - I was too weak before but now I have a way and I will become the man that my father always dreamed I could be." Or, does he feel: "Now I understand why Spider-Man had to destroy him, because he was a mass murderer and now my anger can drain away from me." It could be an answer to a question and it ends the pursuit, but I'm not certain which way to go." Thanks to 'Alex' for sending this in
July 13, 2004: We've heard this one before, back in February: "An interesting rumor has surfaced that Eliza Dushku, who read for the Mary Jane part in Spidey, might return in the third film as The Black Cat. Just a rumor, folks, but a neat one at that." Thanks to Superherohype.com
June 1, 2004: MAJOR SPIDER-MAN 2 SPOLIERS AHEAD! LOOK AWAY NOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO KNOW THE ENDING OF SPIDER-MAN 2...................................
.............................
Still here? Really? You want to be spoiled?? The movie comes out in like 3 weeks.... you sure?
OK... here goes: "The graphic novel for Spiderman 2 is in stores. Not able to help myself, I flipped to the back of the book to see if the ending I had envisioned to happen was true, and low and behold, it was. Before Peter Parker and Mary Jane finish up there story, we get a scene with Harry going mental in his fathers office with the Peter Parker/Spiderman problem. He ends up tossing a brandy glass into the same mirror Norman was looking into in the first movie, shatters it, and finds his fathers goblin outfit, the glider, and some weaponry. He also hears his fathers voice speak to him in his head, telling to get revenge for his death. I believe the seen ends with Harry picking up the mask and starting too laugh "an all to familiar laugh". Thus with this setup, even if they go ahead with the John Jameson/Vemon story, chances are you will see Harry Osborne donning the suit, becoming either the Green or Hobgoblin in the third movie" Thanks to a Darkhorizons scooper!
May 18, 2004: AICN has landed a scoop about the third "Spider-Man" movie currently in development at Sony. Rumours emerged a few days ago that the hunter Kraven and The Chameleon would be the villains, this report not only refutes that but mentions the name of the villain most fans have been clamoring to see in a third film - be warned as there are MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD for the second film in this:
"I worked at Sony while they were putting together the script for #2 and fleshing out the basic story for #3 and I tell you, the last guy who left that stupid stuff about Kraven and The Chameleon was totally wrong. Spider Man 2 will leave off with a bit of a cliffhanger which will lead to #3, which will be friggin' AWESOME! Trust me, the villain WILL be VENOM. As you will see in #2 Mary Jane will marry J.J. Jameson's son who is an astronaut and planning to go up into space. This will pull Mary Jane away from Peter and in Peter's eyes keep her "safe". Well hold on, while in space J.J. Jameson's son will be infected by some weird alien organism. The alien will travel back to earth with him and J.J. Jameson's son will either become VENOM or Peter will be infected with VENOM and go on a rampage. Either way Spider Man will have to KILL J.J. Jameson's son/Mary Jane's husband in the end, which will bring Peter and Mary-Jane back together again. That's what I read as the summary of Spider Man #3, as you know they can change it, but from what I read, it will be Friggin' BAD ###!!! You will be blown away, Sam really is the man when it comes to directing these things" . Thanks to DarkHorizons.com and Aint-it-Cool-News.
May 7, 2004: J.K. Simmons, who reprises his role as J. Jonah Jameson in the upcoming Spider-Man 2, told SCI FI Wire that he's already on board for Spider-Man 3. "I am absolutely signed up and ready, willing and able and excited about doing Spider-Man 3," Simmons said in an interview. "I think the original plan was to do them every other year, but then [Spider-Man 2] ended up getting a little bit delayed, so we're doing a late June release instead of May. They like that Memorial Day slot, so I think that's the reason for doing a [May 4] 2007 release." Thanks to Superherohype.com for the heads up!
April 21, 2004: Daniel Gillies, the actor told of a stipulation in his contract when he signed on to play John Jameson. "Yep, I had to agree to come back for the third one. No big secret that there's going to be a third one, it was recently announced publicly, and yep, I'm back. And after all, movies seem to be all about trilogies these days don't they?"
March 26, 2004: Sony has announced a May 4, 2007 release date for the third Spidey movie, with all the key cast and crew (Raimi, Maguire, Dunst, Arad & Ziskin) all involved. . Thanks to Matthew via email for the heads up.
March 8, 2004: With all the talk that [Tobey] Maguire and [Sam] Raimi are already speaking about the next film but aren't signed yet, Kirsten Dunst revealed to About.Com that everyone is signed on for three films. What about renegotiations? "For more money? No, that hasn’t even started yet. We have to get through the publicity tour of the second one first" Thanks to Darkhorizons.com
March 3, 2004: During a Q4 earnings conference call on Tuesday, Marvel Studios chairman-CEO Avi Arad said that "Spider-Man 3 is in development" and that a "contemplated release date will be probably 2007." Arad said the pic could possibly bow in 2006, but that "It is a big movie, and we would rather play it safe and talk about the 2007 at this point." There have been reports that director Sam Raimi has committed to making the movie, and agents and managers for Tobey Maguire (aka Peter Parker), have been working around a tentative "Spider-Man 3" schedule when booking the thesp for other projects.
February 16, 2004: HotDog Magazine reports that Eliza Dushku (Faith from "Buffy"/"Angel") is Sam Raimi's favourite choice for the role of Felicia Hardy (aka. The Black Cat).
January 14, 2003: According to an Australian newspaper, yet to be confirmed, 'Spider-man' is part of a trilogy of pictures and the actors have all signed on to a 3-picture deal. The article went on to say ""...audiences can look forward to a vision of the Man-Wolf, an astronaut who mutates into a creature after handling some moon rock during a space expedition." No confirmation on this article has been made. We'll keep you posted, and if you spot this article. please send it in.
October 13, 2003: From CountingDown: "I've heard that Sony has already got Sam [Raimi] committed to doing SPIDER-MAN 3, though that hasn't officially broke yet. However, after SPIDER-MAN 2 thrashes every record that SPIDER-MAN set and as excitement reaches the TILT stage with SPIDER-MAN 3... there's a strong chance that the 4th EVIL DEAD could happen."
September 26, 2003: Here is an outrageous rumors going around: Kevin Bacon as Eddie Brock aka Venom! Talk amoung yoursleves.
April 7, 2003: Actor Vin Diesel on E! News Live confirmed recent rumours that he'd play Venom are bullcrap.
November 28, 2002: Zentertainment has received an interesting rumour about the baddies in a potential third Spidey flick: "One idea being tossed around is to feature Venom and Carnage as the main villains. Marvel has petitioned Sam Raimi to have these characters as the main villains instead of secondary characters in an effort to avoid the horrible mistake made by Warner Bros. in the megaflop, Batman & Robin, when Bane was made into a ######## henchman. Casting suggestions have also been thrown out inlcuding Vin Diesel, and The Rock for Eddie Brock and Sam Rockwell and Christian Bale for Cletus Kassady".

Heh, those were the possible villains I spotted. ^_^* (Manwolf would surprise me though, kinda obscure)

As I understand it that idea was because they introduced John Jameson in II.
I personally think they will skip the Man-wolf stuff and go the animated series route with John bring back the Venom Symbiote from space.

If it's got a Bruce Campbell cameo then it will do more than rock.
Oh, it will. Sam's directing.
Bruce is one of the best underappreciated actors out there (for some of his best acting, check Bubbahotep). Mostly because he's stated that he won't say a movie he's in is awesome if it isn't.

12/25/2004, 07:48
well..
I think there will be 2 villains in Spiderman 3 ,with maybe the Black Cat as ally for Spidey because she would be the obvious choice over Firestar.
then again it could be the Human Torch...:classic:
why would they possibly take Firestar over the Black Cat, well because she's different from say Catwoman...:noid:
and any excuse to use Lindsay Lohan would be good !!;)
Man-wolf or Venom,Lizard,Green/Hob-goblin (in hopefully a NEW suit) are all options...
though IF they where going to make more movies (every few years like the X-men) then setting up the villains whom would later form the Sinister Six would be a good choice too.

If it's true, maybe Mental Harry will inject Conners and
Jameson with Goblin Juice and point them at Spider-Man.
Hope they take enough time too get it right, and yet finish
ahead of schedule so that we get it before 2007.

Shuck. I was really hoping (absurd as it sounds) that they'd have Bruce Campbell reprise his two cameos - saying they're the same "failed actor" type - and reveal that character is - Quentin Beck. Okay, maybe I'm the only one who thinks Bruce would rock as Mysterio but still...:)

I don't know if the rumors are true, but I suspected that we'd see these three in the third movie. Connors was fairly prominently featured in 2, and Mary Jane Leaving Jameson at the altar for Peter was a pretty obvious tell about man-wolf, and of course Harry is obvious as the Green Goblin thanks to the not so subtle ending of 2. The set-ups were nicely done, however. My guess is that Osborn funds Connors research into regeneration, or hires him to start working on the Goblin project for him, thus tying the Goblin and Lizard together. Not really sure how they'll bring Man-Wolf's origin into the movie - finding a magic jewel on the moon seems unlikely. I'm certainly looking forward to this one however they decide to handle it.

At least it's not Vulture or Sandman, which is what Maguire and Raimi wanted to see.
The funny thing is that Sony would like to see SEVEN spidey-movies.
Raimi said he'd only want to do 4, max.
Let's hope that the next movie(s) don't follow the Batman and Superman movie curse: after 2, they start to ####.

Well Batman had the kiss of death from Joel Schumaucher (did I spell it right, I don't care . . .) and the worst actors you could imagine.
Superman 3 and 4-80's relapse with 70's plotholes. You can't mix two decades together.

the batman movies wouldve been fine hadnt they decided to start making them comicy in batman forever, and even worse with Batman and Robin, this Batman begins looks very good though liek it could be like the first 2.
i certainly hope venom isn't in spidey 3.
just give us the harrygoblin vs pete payoff.... and give us the lizard after teasing us with connors for two movies.
personally i just hope spiderman keeps his mask on a little bit more... couldn't go 3 solid minutes without him whipping it off.

I figure it's just that actors like their faces on screen.
Or the companies feel if you can't see the faces they might
as well have hired someone less famous.
I mean 2000ad has run for almost 30 years, and the only
time Dredd was seen without his mask was when he'd had
a face change to go undercover. His face was(is) a BIG secret.
But gee, I guess Stallone knows best eh?

I belive that I read in a copy of Wizard, that they were planning on making a total of 6 movies.. which is interesting after what I just finished reading in this thread about a max of 4.
When my friends and I heard about there being 6 movies altogether, we surmised that each of the 5 movies would introduce a new villian, and the 6th movie would bring them all back for a Sinister Six showdown with Spiderman, ending the series.
Now THAT would be the way to do the Spiderman movies if you ask me.

All I can say is bring on #3!
I bummed about it having Green Goblin - there are too many great Spidey villains (VENOM, hint, hint) for them to be doing repeats. The only saving grace would be to give Harry a new costume (I hated the "Power Ranger" suit from the first movie). I'd be OK with Harry showing up as the Hobgoblin, for example...

True, but that wouldn't follow the storyline would it. They are trying to follow that to some degree and the suit wasn't that bad. I was just part of the translation process from comic book to movie. That's a tough bridge to cross sometimes. All in all, I can get past that since the movie was so well done.
Since Jr wasn't hobgoblin, I don't think they should do it that way, but hey, word has it we'll see the Lizard so I think we can tolerate another goblin with the lizard skulking around.

Yes, it is supposed to be Lizard, Man-wolf or Kraven, and Harry as Green Meanie. The Black Cat is also supposed to be appearing...but if you guys think about it, if they use Man-wolf, they could bring in the symbiotes in Spidey 4, since they were going to do it a few years ago in Spidey 3, but Raimi had to keep his love spiral going...Sony does say that they are ready for a Spidey 4 to be looked into, but Raimi doesnt know if hes going to stick with it that long...lets just hope its not another X-men saga with the directors...

I don't follow the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book, but in the teasers I've seen for that, Harry is the Hobgoblin - something to think about there!
I'm also very happy about Lizard in this flick - it gives a drastic change to the type of "villain" that Spidey has faced in the first two movies.
Oops, jumped the gun. The teasers "hint" that Harry may be the Ultimate Hobgoblin. Sorry about that...

i've been thinking it might be cool if they followed the Ultimate Spiedy-verse in regards to Venom and/or Carnage. Maybe have it that Doc Ock was developing bio super suits engineered by alien DNA found by Jameson....and maybe somehow Harry takes advantage of the tech for his Goblin suit (gets away from the Power Ranger suit)

Hmmm...You could easily pull off a multiple villian story.
first you have an opening action sequence when Spiderman fights off Mysterio. You don't need to go into background, or even the name quinten beck, but just have spidey fight a bunch of smoke and mirrors tricks and then punch through the smoke or through some image and break Myeterios helmet. Just for kicks, have it be some cameo, like bruce campbell or something. Doesnt really matter, not a main story, just something to get people right off into a movie. And of course becuase of this, he ends up missing a huge story on a cancer breakthrough to eddie brock. Have a little while spidey taking up too much time in spideys life, so he starts using spidey to get his job done. He breaks into oscorp as spidey to get secret pictures of the new breakthrough treatment, and show eddie snooping around the same night. When Eddie sees spidey near the stuff, he intentionally trips the alarm and starts taking pictures. When the loud alarm and bight lights goes off the material goes nuts and comes to life, starting to rip stuff up, and it tackles spidey out the window and they arent seen for a while. The cops and harry come, and they arrest Eddie.
Show Eddie rushing in the next morning into the Bugle, and giving JJ the Pics, but JJ just gets angry cuase he already got picks from Parker. And He ends up getting angry and firing Eddie.
Then go into a little while about how it has bonded with him and his powers are increased and he can finally balance everything out cuase things are easier as spiderman. Meanwhile show harry and his anger towards spiderman, and show him getting even angrier cuase peter was trying to destroy his prized discovery and destroy his chances to ever live up to his father. Go with Norman still in his head bugging him.
Have spidey, in the black, swinging around the city, and flash abunch of newspapers asking if its the same guy and all those things. Then have the return of Mysterio. Have him robbing a bank or something. this battle will take a whole 10 seconds, as his amped up spidey sense allows him to Web Mystero through the illusions, and toss him ino the wall. Then just have mystero toss one insult at spidey and he gets angry and goes at him, and Spidey beats him half to deaht before realizing what happens. Then SPidey Runs off and seperates from the suit, someway. Show the black ooze going back to oscorp.
Classic red and blue spidey makes a return and is trying to balance mary, work, and spiderman.
Eddie goes to Oscorp to get info on his own, and the suit attacks and bonds with him. Have him be more like a bigger black spiderman without the logo, not the giant hulking tooth machine. Have harry already be waiting and just say he proposes a deal.
Harry returns as Hobgoblin, new suit and all. and Kidnaps Mary Jane (what, it has to be done. its the onlything that peter has a huge attachment to yet). Spidey comes to the rescue and is ambushed by Eddie, still not tooth machine. Hobs and Eddie attack spiderman, but eddie ends up taking out Hob, when hob wants him alive. Then show Eddie smash his hand into another bunch of vials full of black goo. Then he goes all giant evil beast. They have a final fight where Venom grabbs mary and drags he to the top of the roof. Have spidey use sm,arts to win, by making Vemon take out a power converter and electrifiing himself, and then Having venom go to tackle spidey, but spidey flips him off the roof and down onto the street and busts into the sewers. As spidey is looking over the edge, ahve the goblin glider hit him in the back and toss him off the roof. At the last second, he hits the webbing to the roof and swings back up. Have Harry break down with Norman yelling at him to finish him. have him trip over the edge and Spidey web to save him, and wither miss or go for the gwen stacy finish and have him die even though he catches him. Either way have sstanding at both of the osborn graves and have him go spider sense, and not know why. After a couple extra closure things, I think it would work.
And it would leave a 4th one open, with either it being venom setting off the spidey sense, or either of the goblins not actually being dead.
