I was wondering if its possible to make some metal gear solid customs and what figures i could use to make them.

Like:
Solid snake
Psycho mantis
Vulcan Raven
Sniper Wolf
Ninja
Liquid Snake
Maybe metal gear rex(probably not possible)

i don't know much about mechwarrior but i'm betting that you could probably cobble together a MG Rex from some of the.

as for the characters i'd use a swat guy for solid snake, a shield sniper for wolf, IC blade for most of liquid snake, storm (Ult) for most of psycho mantis... her arms are the perfect shape, and i don't know what for the others. colossus could possibly work as vulcan raven but it would take some serious tweaking and i don't have a clue how to make his gun.

i would love to see the ninja though. i'd give him hypersonic and blades claws on a custom dial with stealth team ability... but that's just my two cents.

Honestly, you could use Punisher as Ocelot, but he is not on your list. Also, Taskmaster already has the cool ninja like pose down, so you could use him as the cyborg ninja

a vampire gunslinger from mage knight would make great parts for ocelot as well, since he has revolvers.

using Taskmaster for Grey Fox is a great idea, wish i'd thought of it. Heck, i wish i had an extra so i could mod one.

To be honest, thanks for the suggestions, now I can make a MGS Miniatures game!

(*i'm not the original poster, but thanks anyways**)

Why on earth would the ninja have hypersonic speed? That's ridiculous...

I've made a few...SHIELD Trooper from CT for Snake with a bandana from Elektra. SHIELD Sniper for Wolf. I have a Taskmaster that I've been planning to use for Ninja, but never got around to it. I've considered Wasp for Meryl. Blade (IC) would do ok for Liquid I think.

I used a watered down black all over Snake to make him look weathered and it came out GREAT!! In fact, Snake and Sniper can be seen Here (http://groups.msn.com/flysheroclix/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=102) (althought not the greatest pic)

he move pretty fast when i played as him in the VR missions disk... he could move, slash, & move all in the same action... the only way i could think of doing that was hypersonic and BCF... not a high movement though... i'd give him a 6 move with those powers.

besides, he wouldn't be tourney legal so why not ?

also, if you fire the Fa-Mas at him during the boss fight with him he moves fast enough to block every bullet from an automatic weapon.

i just got back from a sealed event and saw a skullbuster, her gun would be perfect for vulcan raven.

1) You can't HSS and BCF..

2) jsut because someone can MOVE and slash doesn't give hss.. Your char would be better suited to a set up like this:

Charge for movement power, BCF for AV power, and combat reflexes for defensive power.

The charge action CAN be used with BCF..

3) He does block the bullets with the katana, but that's not at super speeds.

Give him what you think but HSS does not exemplify the ninja..

Powers for the ninja: Stealth, BCF, Charge, Combat Reflexes etc. Heck throw in super senses to represent the blocking of bullets with the katana.

1) yeah you can
2) charge doesn't let you get away without rolling break away... which he shouldn't have to roll
3) a fa-mas on full auto is capable of firing 1000 rounds a minute... i'd say blocking that kind of fire with a sword blade would have you moving faster than the speed of sound.

i'd have him with a team ability that gives stealth so he'd have it all the say down the dial and he could use it with other powers like leap/climb and flurry later on if needbe.

you can not hss and bcf.

hss grants a close or ranged combat ATTACK as part of your move action.

bcf is a close combat ACTION, which hss does not allow you. it's the same reason you can't hss and incap.

so if you want him to be able to break away without rolling how bout giving him charge on his first click and put L/C on the rest of his dial! you can give him the haymaker feat to add 2 to his base damage and then he'll be off that first charge click and into L/C. you could even give him pounce to use intead of using the sword! :)

my Grey Fox dial would be 8 clicks, 10 move w/ charge into L/C for the rest of his dial with maybe some stealth at the end, 11 a/v with bcf for 5 clicks, 17 d/v with super senses for 3 clicks then e/sd for 3 then willpower for 2, 2 dmg down the dial with a little outwit and a little perplex.

70ish points

Alright Cornslik you put HSS on your grey fox.. Because he so clearly moves at such quick speeds...

You are still VERY wrong about how grey fox would look as a click.. but to each his own..

thanks, with those powers i think the figure will play the way he does in the game. It just feels right to me... if charge feels right to you, then go for it.

i'm no judge but at our venue we use hss and bcf together because the wording is such that hypersonic grants you a free "action" which is used to make the "attack" i hate the vague way they put these sorts of things together... supposedly power actions were going to fix all that.

that may be why they haven't made a fig with the BCF/hypersonic combination. I'm just speculating.

anyway, i should be getting a REV taskmaster set in the mail soon so i'll probably make a mod out of the rookie. i'll post pics when i eventually finish it.

i'm trying to find a good sculpt for Vulcan Raven. I got an extra skullbuster at this week's draft and i really want to use the chaingun she has to make him. I was thinking of a MM hulk for the body but it makes the gun look too small.

any suggestions?

There isn't anything to debate.. HSS's wording says it grants you a free attack.. not action.. and BCF says it activates when the character is given a close combat action.. charge grants a free close combat action..

Hulk is a much better choice even if the gun looks to small.. just give him that big arse backpack.. You don't want raven to be a small character...

hypersonic states "this character receives one free action during its movement..." the judge at our venue takes that to mean an action that you can use for BCF when you make the close combat attack.
I'll use them together in friendlies the same way i use flurry and incap.

*beats a dead horse*

i'll shut up about it.

anyway, the build on MM hulk is perfect for raven, i just need a good head and legs... and something to use for his huge ammo drum.

is there a steel drum that comes with the 3-D map set ?

Not to continue beating the dead horse, but it doesn't state free action.. perhaps in old rules but not currently.. In friendly games it works, but in a real judged scenario it should not..

Here's the HSS text directly from the WK site..

HYPERSONIC SPEED (optional): Choose one of the following: (1) When you give this character
a move action, it automatically breaks away and may move through squares adjacent to opposing
characters. This character receives one free action during its movement that it may use to make a close
combat or ranged combat attack. It can continue to use the rest of its movement after making the attack.

Nope no steel drum from the 3-d map set.. go to the hobby store and get some modeling clay, round it and that'll work.. for the head use a sasquatch and repaint it it would probably work fairly well.. Then again I forget what raven looks like.. ;)

i drew crates on a bag of cheap wooden blocks my friend picked them up at Michael's craft shop... they were just plastc bags full of plain wooden blocks and they are really cheap.

I like the big ones because they fit perfectly into a 1.5x1.5" heroclix map square.

I'm thinking they would be perfect for the warehouse that Snake fought Vulcan Raven in.

I'm putting a pic of the crates into my mods link (see sig) enjoy.

Wow! Did this thread die.

Anyway, i was recently going through my dupes when i found two figs to use to make Ocelot.

First is Gambit. The trenchcoat is just too good. add doves ponytail...etc.

second is henchman. Repaint him and he could look exactly like ocelot from MGS:3
