So far, I've been real basic with my mods. I repainted a hobgoblin to make Green Goblin, a Scourge to make the mask, and redid Uliks costume because I thought it would look better black. I created a deadpool (before MM) out of a Hellfire guard and an arm of a kobra fanatic. I made a Nightcrawler from a Fury, Mysterio, and a tentacle from Ultimate Doc Ock.

But now i'm ready to try creating parts. I've bought a box of sculpy, but thats only useful for making pieces to glue on, due to a clix not surviving the trip through the oven. So...

(1) What other products are good as far as sculpting? I don't have any gaming stores around me, so green stuff isn't an option. I do have a Michaels however.

(2) is there anything that will remove the WK paint without harming the figure?

(3) how do you guys make/print custom dials? I've tried finding a good program, but to no avail.

(4) what clix do you think would make a good Hydro-Man?

Thanks for your time:cool:

1) Epoxy Putty (same as green stuff, cheaper)

2) Acetate (you will have to take them off the stand, that stuff eats the bases)

3) Don't do dials, sorry

4) Who?

I used a Sandman to create a Hydroman.

Dials: Adobe Illustrator, a color printer and a sheet of blank stickers. It eats through printer ink like a monster, but if you do them right, they're indistinguishable from the WK dials. I also make Custom tops this way and that eats black ink like you wouldn't believe.

Putty: Tamiya Modelling Epoxy Putty. Available at almost any Hobby store and probably most model train stores as well. Cheaper by volume and better in quality than green stuff.

Paint removal: I don't, so no help here, though I have heard eveything from Acetate to Modelling glue might work. If there are paint clups on a fig, I just blade them off.

Hydroman: Sandman is the obvious base here as he has the flowy looking lower body. The big hands from Mister Fantastic might stand you in good stead as well.

1. I use plumber's putty. You can get this at a hardware store or Wal-mart. The work time is considerably less than the green stuff. It hardens in just a few minutes. I think the stuff I use is Loc-Tite.

2. Never tried. Can't help you on this one.

3. Again, haven't tried.

4. I to have done the Sandman to Hydro-man repaint. I like proditor's idea of swapping out hands. That could make the mod stand out. Try a few layers of shades of blue to enhance the water effect.

Darkhawk - I've seen a few takes on him. One was done using a Vulture and a different head. I can't remember which one though. Hope there is some info you can use.

ya i find SuperSculpey to be good enough to work with.

As for paint i just use some acrylics paint often sold at walmart that i get for 1,99$ for a small bottle and there is a lot of different colors.

I just finished a Gambit for someone and i was pretty happy about the outcome, too bad i got my camera stolen or i would have posted pics before sending it, maybe the person in question might have a chance to post pics once he get the figure.

Im now working on Tellus from the legion, talk about an obscure character and boy is he fun to do.

Next project involve a sentinel size character from DC, but this is still in the drawing board is name is "Parralax"

also working on a Valkyrie mod using a horse from mage knight, but im really working part time on this one.
