Great idea. I've got every issue of the Genis series, so I'll have to go back and look again. I remember him growing huge, but I need to see it again, to get the full effect. He'd have to be insanely priced, points wise.
I was almost tempted to use the p instead of the g, but we do not want the most unstoppable clan ever to get pulled, so I'll stay mature.
My next order of business is to find a favorite quotes of his to use as my sig line. I've already though of some, but I want a line that sums him up perfectly. All three of us should have a Genis sig. line.

Let's see I save the 1 girl and a race gets vaporized...

I save a race and the girl dies... I'll save the race...

Well the girl dies and apparently she would have been the single most important being of all time. She would have brought peace to the universe.

So he gets a second chance and saves the girl... Well the race that gets vaporized ends sup being just as significant to the universe.

WTF was he supposed to do? How can you go on as a good guy when you know that no matter what happens the universe is doomed to be miserable and that evil will prevail?

Poor Genis. :p

I like when he is in the Magistrar's bed, and the Magistrar says, "ARe you ins....." Captain Marvel's eyes begin to light up, and the Magistrar finishes, "insudden need of another pillow? " Genis smiles and says, "No, I'm fine." He then closes his eyes and basically tells him to find another place to sleep. That was one of my favorite things he ever did.

Well fellas I got some bad news, from what I have been able to find it looks as though Genis will in fact come back as Photon for now. I don't know about his powers or anything but he will bare the name.

Rumor has it that Marvel has plans for the name,) possibly brining back Mar-Vell) But nothing can be confirmed yet.

From what I can find Genis will emerge from the energy cocoon with a bit of amnesia, He won't remember why he is supposed to be mad at atlas and probably who he is supposed to be so he will bare the name photon at least for now.

What do I think?....

First off I don't care how strong Atlas is he can't crush Genis like that unless this writer is totally ignoring PAD's books, Genis would have sensed the danger and ripped him a new one.

I think the name Photon for Genis is a bad idea, it doesn't fit at all, Just call him Genis for crying out loud.

Last, what a bad idea it would be to bring back Mar-Vell, I thought the way they killed him was very tasteful and to bring him back would be a slap in the face I think.

We will know for sure what Genis is all about by issue 10 of the New TB's, he is supposed to accept his place on the team by then.

No details yet but it appears that he will be fighting against the Ultimates and ultimate FF.

The previews hint that they will try and convince him to join the side of Earth.

Well, that ####ing sucks. Genis is going to be called Photon? That is filth. I gurantee his powers will be different, and he'll be underpowered.
I also hope they keep Captan Mar-Vell dead. he was a great character, one of my favorites, but The Death of Captain Marvel is one of my favorite stories ever! i had to work hard to get a first printing, gem mint 10 copy.
An Ultimate Genis would be awesome, as long as they do him right. Since most Ultimates versions are stronger than the regualr counterparts, what they could do with Genis, ah, the possibilities. However, since they have him against the Fantastic Four, he'll probaly be toned down from his series. The Genis from his series would obliterate the F.F. in seconds.
I guess we'll see how they do him.

Now I know it makes no difference because Genis seems to always get the shaft when it comes to how Marvel treats him but..

I have a request for Marvel Inc.

To be honest Marvel, it would be ok by me if you did away with Genis all together, but! Before you lay him to rest, give us (his fans) who carried his book for 5 years one last hurrah.

Make it a cross over for all I care or make it a story line in TB's it matters not to me but show us what he's got!

Give us one final huge showdown! The level of his power has been speculated upon for years and he has shown hints and signs that he could very well rival the Surfer and Odin Thor.

So my plea to you is, show us just what it is Genis can do, just once. Make it 7 or 8 pages or maybe spread it across a couple of books. I just want to see what it is he can really do when all the chips are on the table...

Of course it would also give WK a good scale on how to make him. :rolleyes: :p

I'd like to see insane Genis waste everybody in the Marvel U. As far I'm concerned he's more powerful than OdinThor and Surfer. I say that with no problem, as I like Surfer and Genis pretty much equally. I still recognize Genis and his gretaness for what it is.
I'm assuming you're talking about regular Genis. Your idea is great. I feel the same as you do. If they're not going to do Genis right, then they might as well do away with him, but like you said, finally showing what Genis can really do.
I'm not exactly sure I'm feeling this Thunderbolts idea. I have a feeling that they are going to #### him as usual. Bastards! I'll still pick it up because it's Genis in a book, and I must have it, but I feel I'm going to be severely disappointed like always.

Well I kind of knew what they would do to him if he did in fact go to TB's.

He was just too powerful; the only story lines he could fit in would be huge arcs that occurred every now and then. The author of the book said Genis would be a consistent appearance in the book after a short while. They had to tone him way down.

Other wise he would just sit back and do whatever until the TB's couldn’t handle things. Then he would just show up flick the bad guy in the face and disintegrate him. BAM! Fight over end of story arc...

I have a terrible feeling that he will in fact adopt powers much like photons. The reason I see this coming is because they are making Atlas way to strong. Making his powers Ionic based puts him as the most powerful TB on the team. It would take some ######## story lines and a great writer to keep Atlas and Genis in the book and keep it interesting if they were both at full power.

The only up side is that some of the leaks have hinted that eventually Genis will get most of his memory back and begin to remember why he should be mad at Atlas. While I like Atlas, I hope he gets what he has coming to him. :devious: :p

To be honest the power down isn't all too terrible (although I wish they hadn't done it to this extent) but they should never have let Atlas punk Genis out like that.

Also I don't want to see him waste the rest of them because no one ever holds that to truth if it's not Thor or Thanos.

You know what would kick so much ###?!?!?!

Galactus is supposed to be making an appearance in ultimates around the same time Genis is... They are in dif books but...

If they would do this in 616 and have Genis hold off the Eater of worlds and maybe even die in heroic fashion I would be cool with him staying dead forever cause that would kick so much ###!

He could be in battle with Big-G and suddenly snap back to his insane days and fight off the Mighty G in a dieing effort. Man I think I would cry. :laugh:

BTW hold on to TB’s at least until issue 10, the author said that’s about when Genis starts to accept his roll on the team. We’ll know all about what and who he is by then.

i love the new avatar CM. It's the white cover from issue #1, if I'm not mistaken. I have that cover, isn't it the rarest one from all the different covers they did for #1?
Your idea about Galactus would be kick ###, and there is no shame in losing to Galactus.

Ok Genis fans an Update... SPOILERS!!!!

Genis is back in the Thunderbolts. This is what we know…

1. So far the only thing he doesn't seem to remember is the attack on him by Atlas, He knows he used to be CM and that his name is Genis-Vell.

2. He is going by the name Photon now, not sure why just yet but that's it. No more CM for Genis... for now.

3. He doesn't seem to have any cloths on, he still has his CA so he's not completely naked but he has no costume yet.

4. Oh and when I said he doesn't have anything on, that includes the Nega Bands... He still has his powers so I'm not quite sure what's going on there but we should start finding out more and more in the next few issues.

UPDATE!!!!

I just saw a 4 page preview of the new TBs.

Genis is BACK and he has the NEGA BANDS!!!!!

Anyway. They are running some tests on him to try and find out what changed while he was in the cocoon.

Genis is acting pretty humble, He's not sure that anything has changed but he feels something has.

He said that while in the Cocoon he felt as though he was in a dark but warm place. "But oh so dark"

Then they did a close up of the left side of his face and he got pretty serious saying that he feels something has changed but he's afraid it's not for the best...

That's all I got until the issue comes out...

Genis still has the silver hair but he didn't look stargazed and his skin/costume was all silver... well all but the bands.

BTW if you guys ever want to make a custom Genis...

Just take a booster gold shave off the color around his neck and then sand or trim with an exacto, his goggles.

Then paint him accordingly. The star on his chest is a good representation of the star on CM's chest and the bracelets make great Nega bands.

As for a custom dial... well I haven't quite got that on down yet.

Not the coolest looking pose but it works pretty well.

Yeah, that would work well. Booster Gold is a piece of #### himself, but his fig would make a good Genis. My favorite costume is the one you have on your avatar. The one from his series. His Kree uniform.

The person had a whole ton of Mods, but the only three I can remember are an Adam Warlock custom, a Pacheco Genis Vell, and a Ross Genis Vell. This was well before Critical Mass.

There might have been a Darkstar as well.

Yes, you did, and I honestly though he was underpowered. Granted, it's a great dial, you know I think that. I honestly see insane Genis to be at least 400 points. I think he could beat the #### out of the whole JLA with ease.
Your dial was right on the money powers wise. Wiakids certainly wouldn't do half the job. First off, they'd never make an insane Genis to begin with, and any Genis they did make would probaly ####ing ####.

Yup he sure does but it's not explained how Atlas got that powerful all of a sudden because he's never been before. Nor is it explained Why Genis didn't have his CA.

Also, let's say he was weaker than Atlas at the time. What about now?!

Have you read issue #6? (6 or 7) Genis takes a Nuke blast and then absorbs the fallout and sends it into space so that no one including the TB's would get hurt.

I didn't see Atlas trying to do that. Nor did I see him any where near the blast.

Atlas beating up Genis was fluke and will be exposed in due time and when Genis regains his memory Atlas will be lucky to escape with his life.

BTW in the most recent issue of the TBs they (TBotls including Atlas) are fighting a couple of villains and not doing so well. RAman asks them to back off because He or Genis could easily take them down. Instead they screw up and Atlas gets taken down by Abe who is in his old Beetle suit... What's with that?

GENIS FANS!!! Listen up!!!

SPOILERS!!!!!!

In TBs #8 Genis is back to being the man! The TBs are getting embarrassed by Bartocs (sp) Brigade when Genis steps in to save the day. He takes over as the leader for the moment and turns the embarrassment into a victory.

Some light was shed on what's been going on with him but it's still rather cloudy. Apparently the photonic energy he is absorbing and using isn't from the here and now. What that means, they didn't really explain. They did say that it could cause complications though Not sure what kind but that's what was said. Oh and Genis isn't quite sure even why he changed his name. He's still trying to piece things together as far as what happened to him.

Monica cameos to set up her appearance in the next issue. She wants to know why Genis took her name.

Oh and one more thing. When Atlas through Genis into the water, it was Genis who put him self into the energy cocoon. Not sure what that means but it was brought up.

It's the huge plot that Marvel is brining out soon. It has to do with Scarlet Witch and the disassembled story.

It's kind of an Infinite earth type of thing. A lot of things are going to change and some of the things that have happened in the past few years may or may not have actually happened.

Those are just speculation and rumors but they are pretty strong.

Hmmm...

You know it's funny that you say that. In the Ultimates story he is part of the Kree army and has spent his whole life there... well that's what they are hinting at so far.

The only reason I don't think that that will be the case is because in the preview for the HOM crossover into the TB book. Genis seems to be the only one in the Universe who knows that something is going on. I'm thinking his CA has something to do with him being shielded from any illusions and such. However I have a feeling that there is a big connection between HOM and Genis losing his sanity. I don't think it was scripted at first but the way PAD wrote the stories it leaves Genis with endless possibilities and connections.

Putting another coin into the Speculatotron, another idea pops out:

Okay, it's a mystery how Atlas's growing powers came back since he gave the Pym particles back to Hank Pym, yes? What if the Scarlet Witch's screwing with the fabric of the universe made Atlas regain his powers (among screwing up the balance of nature and what have you) and Genis's cosmic awareness is trying to tip him off about this, which is why he doesn't seem to get along with Atlas?

Hmm, I must be more fatigued than I thought.

No actually that makes a little sense. Atlas did get his powers back all of a sudden and they are rumored to be Ionic in nature. You know the same as Wonderman when scarlet witch brought him back from the dead. ;) It actually falls together rather well. From what I know Genis has no qualms with Atlas. Atlas attacks Genis because he thought Genis was trying to steal songbird from Abe (which he does in the future).

But here is the kicker. It is said in the preview that the HOM tie in into the TB will have significant and long lasting effects for Atlas and Genis. I don't know what's going to happen but it's starting to look bad for Atlas.

Now I don't they will kill him off, however Genis is getting his memory back and the TB has shown that while Genis may not be Genis of old he is still a dominating force. In the last issue (which you read) he basically single handedly beat the Brigade when the others could do nothing. If Genis decides he wants vengeance for what Atlas did to him it could get ugly.

The only thing that makes me think it will all work out though is the fact that TB is a pretty popular book and it’s a team book. If they go killing or kicking members off the team already this book will fall apart. I guess we will have to wait and see.

I was thinking more of a 250 point insane Genis. I know, I know he's much more powerful but they are going to scale him back just as they do the others. KC Supes is the measuring stick for characters that are more powerful than the norm. (KC, Elseworld, Infinity Gauntlet ect ect)

If we could get an Insane Genis at or near 250 points and in his Kree Army garb that could go toe to toe with KC Supes I would never say another bad thing about HC or WK. I know that's saying a lot but it's true.

Hey fellas, vote for Genis over in the character nominations a bunch of people are designing for the set we're making. Cap, Manchine is in charge of creating the dial stats, with others helping, including myself. I remember you have dabbled in that as well, maybe you would like to throw your ideas in. I'm going to amend my top fifteen and change for a regular Genis R/E/V, and a unique insane Genis.
You're right about them scaling him back, but if Nimrod is 264, Genis can at least be 300. He's more powerful than KC Supes and OdinThor, we all know that.

Want me to be honest??? I haven't seen Sentry do one single thing that Genis can't do. From what I have seen out of the two so far Genis takes the fight thanks to his CA.

Agreed. Although I don't see them all coming in the same set. To be honest I think insane Genis would be a perfect suspect for mail-away. Problem is he isn't popular enough to sell the amount of figs it would take for them to do that.

The Legacy rookie is an excellent idea! I'm going to try and do a Legacy custom dial. I'll post it here when I am done.

Did Genis have Super Strength when he was Legacy? I know he had all the same powers as he does now (minus CA) but I can't seem to find an example of him using SS.

I want to say yes. I would think any version of Genis would have super strength. His dad could lift around 15 tons, if I recall correctly, and he is way more powerful than Daddy, in any form. At least that's my opinion. But, you know, I can't seem to recall him actually using it as Legacy. Doesn't mean he doesn't have it though.

I have very few comics with him as Legacy. In the ones I do have, I don't see him using Super Strength. However, he did beat up several members of this alien pop star's fan club at once. That suggests at least a slight degree of super strength to me. Sort of.

Ok thanks for the help guys. I asked around and what I found was that basically during Genis's time as Legacy he had all the same powers as he does now minus the CA of course. Legacy was basically a less powerful less competent Genis.

I’m still going to make the dial but it’s going to be a lot like the Mar-Vell dial we already have.

I'm not sure how Thor could stand up to Morg. Are we talking about a powered down Morg or just in his normal state?

Maybe Odin Thor could take him but from what I have seen Morg is pretty much the most powerful herald that Big G has ever made. I'm not all that sure that Silver Surfer could take him one on one. Didn't Morg whoop all the heralds by himself at one time? I could be wrong.

Morg wasted all of the heralds at one time, granted he had the Well of Life, in addition to the Power Cosmic, but even after Galactus removes the Power Cosmic from him, after he kills Nova, Morg was still holding his own against all the heralds combined. That makes me think the Well of Life is as strong as the Power Cosmic.
And, yes, before Morg had the Well of Life, and just had the Power Cosmic, he pummeled Silver Surfer, and could've killed him. Surfer and Morg are equal power wise, as long as Morg doesn't have the Well of Life, but Surfer never uses all his power, as we all know, Morg doesn't have the problem of holding back.
There was a heated discussion of who is more powerful Surfer or Thor. Morg was thrown in there as well. People were saying Stan Lee said Thor was the most powerful Marvel character. But, I was saying he was naming mainstream guys, and Morg and genis far eclipse Thor in power. Surfer does as well, IMO, but he never uses the full Power Cosmic, that's the way his character is. He holds back.

However it’s a toss up seeing as how Genis never really showed us what he was capable of when he was insane. He never had too; he could lay down Odin Thor with out breaking a sweat...

I think Morg has Thor but just barley. I see it coming down to Thor's experience and determination. I still think Morg takes it on pure power 7 out of 10 times. Then of course for kicks and giggles Genis smokes Morg like a victory cigar just for the hell of it. :laugh:

Not to be a prick and correct you, but it was the Well of Life. And, you're totally right, Galactus was taken aback by his power. That does say something. Experience never helped Surf against Morg, so I don't think Thor is quite there.

I have Silver Surfer 70-75 Vol. III, when it occurs and it is Well of Life. If you haven't read them I highly recommend that story-arc, Morg is bad ###. I hate seeing Nova get killed, she's a favorite of mine.
When does that Drax series come out? What website is the preview on?

Sorry I’ve been gone a while, I've been busy.

Anyway, I don't see why his name can't just be Genis. Let him wear the Kree uniform and call him Genis. It's not a bad hero name at all. I can see where it doesn't fit on the TB's team I guess but I don't think I like the SS look.

But hey maybe SS will get pissed and they will beat the hell out of each other in a future issue. Genis getting the upper hand of course. ;)

You know what I'm looking forward too. You just know that Genis past is going to come back to haunt him. Someone some where is going to do something to push him over the edge and it's going to be totally sweet when the entire TB's team and a couple other helpers have to step in and take him down after he goes crazy again. :)

Damn tootin'. Drax is bad ###. I've been rereading my old The Rebirth of Thanos trade, and Drax is of course in it, and he tries to stick with Silver Surfe rto find Thanos. I'm sure you all have read it already, but Surfer gets rid of him by watching Leave it to Beaver, ####ing hilarious.

Ok, well there is no real hot bed of rumors but I do have one. Maybe you have heard this already but it is confirmed that there will be a new Captain Marvel and it looks like it will be a new on going due out this summer.

No news on who it will be but it won't be Carol because it will be a he. There was mention of the classic white hair Captain Marvel so...

As for Genis, there are some plans for him on the horizon but no news as too how big or when.

Wish I had more but there's not a lot being said due to there being some summer surprises.

As for the Clix version, no solid news yet. Just the same as before is all.

BTW nothing beats the Armor that Genis wore when he defeated the three races in the future using only his mind.

I guess you could call it Genis God Armor.
