X4 #4 - Rated 5 - So uh. Thing and Cyc take out Wolvie with little problem and Scott realizes Emam might be to ugly to see right now.. glad he's so superficial. The Brood land just as Space Whales show up... I kid you not. This is still a "so bad, it's good" story.
Shanna The She-Devil #2 - Rated 9 - Yea yea its boob-tastic but I really like Cho's art and I'm liking the tale. Shanan is a savage fighter who has yet to develope a "human side" and she scares the men. Near the end some of the peopel seem to get hit with a chemical of some sort accidently... uh oh.
Ultimate Iron Man #1 - Rated 8 - The tale of Tony's dad and what seems how Tony became a "genius". His dad falsl in love with a woman and they get married and preggers. She accidently get infected with a special virus that makes Tony (fetus) smart while slowly killing her. At the end of the issue Tony's ex-wife jelps him lose his company.... a good start so far. Although I'm not to keen on Tony being a "sort of" mutant...
Ultimate Spider-Man #73 - Rated 4 - A huge recap+ issue. BORING. It's all abot Harry Osborn and how he came back to New York. Hates Spidy blah blah... I expect more from Ult Spidy and Bendis.
Age of Apoc One Shot #1 - Rated 7 - a few tales of how certian people came to be where they are in the original AoA stuff. A fun read for AoA fans.
Age of Apoc #1 - Rated 6 - Magneto forms a new band of X-Men to help him track down evil mutants so they can all leive in peace with the humans. MEanwhile Marvel's new Golden Calf aka X-23 makes her AoA appearance... milk that character! milk it!
Exiles #60 - Rated 9 - The team appears munis Beak in the AoA! The Timebroker introduces thier newest teammate Meltdown aka Apoc's son. He of course tells them all to piss off and goes about to rule the world. He discovers the M'Krann Crystal and realizes he needs the Exiles to make it work so he (and they HA!) can go anywhere they want in the multi-verse.
I think you're a little harsh on the Ult. Spider-man. There is a bit of back story to tell between Parker and Osborn in the Ult. Universe already and marvel likes to stick to one of the Stan Lees creeds - every comic is somebodys first comic. If you've read Ult Spider-Man since issue one and all the mini's then the issue is boring, but if you havn't it something you need to understand the story.
DarkCrisis,
I think the Ultimate SPidey Issue was pretty good actually, are you telling me that you have not wondered what happened to Harry after the events in Ult 6? Or how he got his memory back so he could confront peter? I know it is a little bit of a letdown that we are hanging on to the cliffhanger from the previous issue, but this did advance the story and answer some questions that we need to know for the plot to move forward, anyway, thats just my opinion.
The AoA stuff, I liked the one shot better than issue 1 of the Mini, I hope it gets good, I have stayed away from x-men for a while now cause it just got silly bad to me, but I love the AoA stuff, so maybe they can win me back, I will give them 3 issues, and then see what happens.

DC I think your ratings are pretty spot on. Exiles and the AOA stuff was great, but seeing X-23 just about made me vomit. Just like everybody else I do think you were a bit hard on ult. spidey, it was typical Bendis (and that wasn't a dig on him) but still good. X4 isn't quite as good of toilet paper as X-force is, but you can't hold everything to those high of standards.

I avoided reading the Spoilers...but I just wanted to say..that I am really looking forward to reading the AoA stuff.
Of course, comics had to take a back seat to Legacy today..but I made sure to pick up the two AoA issues, and to have the Exiles issue set aside. No other issues were as important as those this week, and I hope they are worth it.

So Tony is only really good at what he does because he was born super-smart via "special infection"? Sigh...so much for the spirit of human accomplishment that Iron Man is supposed to embody.
so much for the spirit of human accomplishment that Iron Man is supposed to embody
According to Stan Lee t hat wasn't the point of Ironman, he just wanted to make an unlikable person into a hero. Thats the point of Ironman.

More on Ult Spidy - I consider the issue "filler" so the arc can get it's required TPB issues.
All that was in that issue was either recap or something that could have been covered in 2 panels of dialogue.
When I read a spider-man comic I expect spider-man to be in it.

The Space Whales are actually called Acanti. They are the living starships of the Brood. They are not so willingly. They are captured and razed by the savage Brood.
The Acanti first appeared during the first X-Men/Brood War (circa UXM #162-166).
Ultimate Iron Man #1 - Rated 8 - The tale of Tony's dad and what seems how Tony became a "genius". His dad falsl in love with a woman and they get married and preggers. It is the first issue and first appearances are deceiving. Otherwise how do you explain that in current Ultimates continuity Tony doesn't need a "blue suit" to survive?

I think you are a little harsh here. I really liked this issue. It tied in Harry's missing memories very well.
Not every comic has to be about the main character. Truly great heroes are measured by their villains/Rogue's Gallery(s) and their supporting cast members.
If the villains and supporting characters are 2-dimesional then the book will ultimately fall off the charts and into limbo. There is a reason The Batman, Flash, Spidey and Superman are mainstay books. They all have well fleshed out supporting members and vilains that get their time in the spotlight.
Harry has to be focused on in USM because he will become another major villain in Ultimate Spidey's Rogue's Gallery. If Bendis just popped Harry into being as the Hobgoblin and only explained it in a couple pages many people would be complaining because it came out of nowhere.
Once you, as the reader, feel an affinity and attraction to a new or established character then the book becomes interesting.
Because Bendis takes time to develop his characters I actually care what happens to them. Sure, he takes forever most times, but if he didn't I would still not be liking Luke Cage. Bendis took a third tier hero and brought him into the spotlight again.
And what Bendis has done with Mary Jane and Aunt May in USM is unbelievable. I have never liked 616-Aunt May. And 616-Mary Jane was just *meh* to me. The Ultimate versions of these two, as well as the others, are people I care about now. If Bendis would kill either of them I would be one angry Fanboy. Whereas, if 616-Mary Jane or Aunt May died in 616 Continuity I really wouldn't be affected.

Since Dark Crisis missed it (and I thought he was getting this series):
New Thunderbolts #6 (7): A satisfying payoff to the first story arc, the New T-bolts rout Hydra's attempted invasion of New York with a little help from the New Warriors and... Starfire?! Take a look at the Warriors racing to face the ship, and see if you don't recognize that young lady. Did I say attempted invasion? My bad. Attempted destruction. Baron Strucker has placed 14 nuclear bombs on Manhattan and is detonating them in sequence to sink the island. Radioactive Man absorbs one, and Speed Demon and Blizzard try for the rest, Blizzard fretting about his suit breaking or running out of freon the whole time. Fun, action packed read, with Abe really stepping up to being a good leader. It also features the best line of the week, from Speed Demon:
"I'm not dying because you didn't go to Home Depot!"
Or maybe from Blizzard:
"I wanted to! You made me go to a strip club instead!"
Have a Great Day,

New T-Bolts #6 isn't out until NEXT week. You must have gotten an advanced issue that some stores get.
Ah-hah. Thank goodness for the SPOILER heading, then.
Didn't know that... you had so many #1s and one-shots, I thought you might have looked and said, "Clearly with this many comics, I have all the comics I wanted this week," leaving poor T-Bolts #6 alone on the shelves.
Does this mean I have to wait 5 weeks for my next issue? NOOOOO!
Have a Great Day,

Remember Ironman was created in the 60's. When he was created a lot of people were anti-war and anti-business and anti-government etc... A millionare who made his money building weapons would have been public enemy #1 back then, and thats excatly what Tony Stark was. And Stan Lee wanted to take a person who so unlikable and turn him into a hero.

You're looking at it through the eyes of reader whos read every Ult. Spider-Man book. This story isg oign to be compalicated and deal a lot with the past of Ult. Spider-Man so it need a lot of recap. They also wanted to fill us in on Harry's part of the story. Not the most action filled comic but important to the story arc and not just filler.
The Ironman of the regular MU was made to be unlikable and was created by Stan Lee. The Ultimate Ironman wasn't created by Stan Lee and there are notable differances. For one, Ultimate Tony seems bent on having people like him. Kind of annoying, IMHO.
I should add......
Basically, they're both unlikable, but for different reasons.

####, I missed X4, I didn't even see it at my shop. I'm not loving the series, but I've gotten this far in it and might as well get it all. And I think you meant Holocaust, not Meltdown. I'm interested in who exactly this X-23 like character is in AOA, since she has 3 claws just like Wolverine and not the two from the hand, one from the foot like 616 X-23. At first I thought it was X-23, but now I'm not sure it is exactly.

Anyone else digging Stormbreaker so far? I think the fight between Bill and Stormbreaker is gonna be awesome.
Almost like Silver Surfer vs. Thor.
Almost. But not quite.

I love the fact that bill damaged Galactus :)
Also I don't remember what the name of the new Herald was, but Stormbreaker is Bill's Hammer.

Stardust. Yeah, brain short there. Shut up...;)
was gonna start thinking Bill's hammer suddenly had a mind of it's own or something.
I'm gonna guess that this all takes place before the recent events in the FF comic, with the Big G gets seperated from his powers for awhile.

Apoc has not yet made an appearance. Looks like Sinister is the main villian.
And when did Holocaust become Apoc's son??? He is not his real son...
Great to see Holocaust again, crummy to see him fly...
And the art in the mini-series book sucks (in my opinion). I could NOT make
out hardly anything when... I guess it was bandits attacking X-23 (what a joke that is).
