Sorry this is late, I had an exam. :(

I was playing Heroclix the other day, and building my team, I had 103 points left. I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.

Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.
With out further delay…

Black Panther
fig from IC, 27pts.
vs,
Booster Gold
fig from HT, 28pts.

Terrain:
Swamp by Goose
A desolate swamp made of mostly water and lots of Trees. There aren’t many places that aren’t mud or water.

The bios...

BLACK PANTHER
When his father, T'Chaka, was murdered by Klaw, T'Challa became the Black Panther to avenge his death. He is at the peak of physical prowess, aided by a heart-shaped herb that grants him strength. He wears vibranium claws and boots that allow him to leap great distances and literally walk up walls! Not only a super-hero, T'Challa is the king of Wakanda; the richest and most technically advanced of all African nations.

BOOSTER GOLD
In the 25th century, Jon Michael Carter was washed up. A promising football player whose career was ruined by scandal, he found himself working as a janitor in Metropolis's space museum. Realizing he'd be better off in the past, Booster stole futuristic equipment including a LSH flight ring and a force field generator, "Booster" took a time machine to the 20th century. After foiling an assassination plot, Booster used the publicity to become the first commercial hero. He joined the Justice League where he forged a friendship with the Blue Beetle. Since then Booster's corporation has gone bankrupt and while he spends his time trying to rebuild it, he manages to remain a hero in name and deed

Well this terrain certainly helps panter with stealth, but he is strong enough to get past Booster's force fields. I don't think he is. Plus the flight, and I think that Panther is in over his head. My vote...
BOOSTER GOLD

If theyre fighting with what they routinely use/carry on them ONLY, Black Panther doesnt stand much of a chance. Booster Gold for the win here. Time to prep and plan battle between these two goes the other way though.

BOOSTER GOLD, no contest.
He may act like a goof but he's actually a *very* powerful super-hero in his own right.

Booster's suit grants him super-strength, toughness in addition to very powerful forcefields that he can use for personal defense OR as projected spheres, energy blasts, and his frequently forgotten thermal, telescopic and microscopic vision....all this and he can also use his suit to "Boost" his abilities for a short time as well!

If we're talking Booster from his own series he's also accompanied by Skeets his flying robotic, ecyclopedic companion!

Booster has ranged attacks, can fly, can see into the infrared spectrum, can protect himself from the worst BP can throw at him with his force fields...Did I mention Batman himself has praised Booster on several occasions for his creativity and strategic skills in combat?

Sorry, Black Panther doesn't have a HOPE in winning this contest.

Go Booster!:p

Panther can take Booster out easily. Seriously- he's the king of stealth, and this is a great place for him, and he's got some snazzy tech on him as STANDARD equipment too. His Energy Daggers damaged freakin Ultron, so they should be able to mess with Booster's force field as well.

BLACK PANTHER for the win.... getting underrated as usual. :ermm:

Booster Gold.

(Although BP is a MUCH cooler character than Booster)

Panther's energy daggers injured Ultron by going for the vulnerable non-adamantium parts (e.g.: eyes). Booster's force-field is from the greatest mind in the DCU - Brainiac 5. Brainy's science is way beyond anything in the 30th Century and the 30th Century is going to be well beyond Black Panther's tech. In other words, I'm not seeing a lot of "vulnerable space" for the energy dagger to pierce.

If Panther had time to plan? Sure, he could take Booster. But in surprise situations, well, I've seen Ant-Man drop the Panther more than once and he wasn't packing an impenetrable force-field. ;)

Vote: Booster Gold

Booster. Panther isn't equipped to face a guy in his league without prep.

The swamp actually hurts him, since Booster can fly.

Booster Gold, in addition to being powerful and fairly skilled, is also the easiest guy to underestimate in DC. Black Panther's good, but he is frankly outmatched here.

Actually, the Energy Daggers went right through Ultron's Adamantium casing and into his inner parts.

Do you guys think that Batman would lose to Booster? Or Cap? Panther is every bit their equal.

I don't feel like I need to justify my answer. Magnito you can take any point that has been said already in this thread.
My vote Booster Gold

In a no-prep fight, without specific anti-Booster gadgets, he would beat Batman. He would also beat Capt.

Another vote for Booster. He may be the Laurel to Beetle's Hardy, but he's still a powerful hero.
