View Full Version : TV Cartoon Battles: Super-Heavyweight Division: Round 1, Match 3
Thus far, is seems Tiamat the Queen of Evil Dragons is ripping apart the Aerialbots combined might of Superion. Will she maintain this lead another few days for the final win, or will Superion come back and regain victory? That, as always, if up to YOU.
Now without further adieu, allow me to present your next battle in a BRAND NEW (Actually unless youre from Mars, these are pretty old hat by now) type of Tournament Of Champions:
BIG O (BIG O)
VS.
THE GUNDAM (MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM)
As always, same rules apply, no time to prepare, POOFed from where ever they were, with only what they routinely carry on them AND/OR routinely used in their shows, to fight in a Large area til one stands and one falls. YOU decide Who.
Randomly Chosen Area:
Another Planet - The dull, grey rock plains are broken up by strangely shaped trees of wild colouring. Wondrous alien plants will try to ensnare any one that gets too close. Small, clustered groups of crumbling ruins are the only indication that intelligent life ever lived here.
(Inspired by: Space Ghost, Herculoids, Star Trek (the cartoon))
Thanks all, and enjoy.
And REMEMBER, if youre not sure who someone is here, ASK. Theres PLENTY of people here who can tell you most anything youd like to know. Thanks again.
ALSO, please do your best to respect everyones votes, reasonings and opinions here. If you believe your character should win, but doesnt in the end, dont hold grudges against the character that beat yours, or call the votes that allowed this to happen "fanboy" arguments or plain and simply wrong. We all have our own way of thinking and voting here, with each one of our thoughts and ideas as valid as your own. Lets do what we can, even in the heat of an argument, to respect that. Thanks.
TV CARTOON TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS Part 4
ROUND 1
He-Man vs. Oberon: Oberon
Tiamat vs. Superion: Tiamat
Big O vs. The Gundam: ??????
Big O (Big O) - The Big O is the most heavily used Megadeus in the entire series. It is piloted by Roger Smith and features a number of unique abilities that make it both the saviour and bane of Paradigm City. It's primary weapons are simply its arms which are enhanced by two large pistons running through the forearms. While in combat, Roger can use these arms to grasp an opponent and to literally crush them with the immense force from the pistons. Typically this attack leaves a large hole in the enemy unit and also manages to take out a couple buildings or streets at the same time. Because Roger uses the Big O in a covert manner, he keeps the Megadeus stored inside of a large building.
To some, Big O is considered a hero of the city. To others, it is simply a menace that repeatedly shows its face at the worst times possible. None the less, Big O has ultimately never lost a battle proving it is one of the most powerful Megadeus ever built. Big O also shows some form of self-awareness and is also capable of responding to Roger's calls for help via Roger's special watch.
To add to what else it can do:
Those pistons can be used to create a shockwave range attack.
It has about 30, 2 mile long grappling chains around its torso that can be used a grappling hooks or to take out enemies.
It has two lazer type weapons, one housed in its eyes and a more powerful version that takes a couple of seconds of standing still to charge up in its forehead.
Two giant shields on his arms.
Missiles stored in his chest (think heavy arms from gundam wing).
Gundam 9 (Mobile Suit Gundam) -
Name: RX-78-2 Gundam -- (Federation)
Height: 18.5 m
Full Weight: 60 Metric Tons
Generator Output: 1380 KW
Primary Weapon:
- Beam Rifle
Varient Weapons:
- 60mm Vulcan Gun
- Beam Saber
The Federation's efforts to catch up to the Zeon in mobile suit power resulted in the prototype mobile suit RX-78-2. Though the design was later simplified for production reasons, the original RX-78-2 was still an effective combat unit. Because of its prototype power, along with several enhancements made later on, the RX-78-2 proved to be more influential than any other unit in the One Year War. In the hands of a new-type pilot such as Amuro Rey, the full capabilities of the RX-78-2 are put to good use. This quickly developes the suit a reputation among Zeon forces insighting fear in most that see it for the firs time.
Looking at their relevent statistics I'm gonna vote for the Big-O. The Big-O just sounds like a bigger more destructive version of the Gundam, I figure those beam weapons couldn't be but so much more powerful than the vulcan cannon (otherwise why have such a weak weapon) and I don't think that thing would harm Big-O at all. Gundam's flight and spped are a plus on it's side, but Roger is a more than capable pilot and his beam weapons are both very long range and highly damageing, plus the Big-O has it's arm shields meaning it will suffer few truley damageing hits while in return delivering highly damageing attacks to the Gundam (who will need to concentrate more of it's time and effort on evasion than Big-O will).
I tend to agree with Rando. Anything Gundum can do, Big O can do better. My vote...

I've watched both shows, and Big O takes this one hands down. More durable, better offense, cooler looking offense, and just plain devastating.
I vote for the Louse, Roger Smith, and his big Megadeus.
Big O, Big O , BIG OOOOOOOO!!!

Gundam is one if not the lost level shw here, big o takes this so easily it is shameful, mv vote is roger and big o (but he gets points of for having one of the worst openings for a show, ever)
Big-O has more weapons and more firepower than Gundam. More than 50% of the time, Big O is gonna win. Big-O to round 2!

The thing about Bg O is that he's not a lame, super advanced mech. He's cool because he looks like he's steam powered.
Still... Big O is BIG. A Gundam looks pretty massive, but its still only 17 or 18 meters. Big O is like 20 stories tall. He's crush Gundam with pure brute strength.
And the Big O's headbeam is most likely a lot more powerful than the Gundam's beam rifle. That, and the whole machinegun arm is good too (btw, does the Big-O get to chose it's arms for the fight? It normally has jackhammers on both, but it also commonly uses machinegun, and occasionally drill. And maybe one or two others I'm not thinking of).
Gundarium armor is good, so it still might take the Big O a few hits, but Big O armor, while a less-good alloy in all likelyhood, is probably thicker than the Gundam's arm and the full e-clip of the beam rifle will only matter if they're all face shots.
Big O wins.

Q99 what are you talking about he never uses a machine gun arm in the show he has the arms with the giant pistons on the make nothing else, i apoligize in advance if i am wrong
They might've only shown up in the second season or something, but he definitely have different arms.
Last... friday I think it showed Roger grabbing an opposing Robot's head, then firing all the machineguns (there are four on the arm) point-blank. At least I think they're machineguns, they're powerful rapid-fire projectiles of some sort.
He also used it against a union mech. I've only see a handful of eps of the second season, and he uses it at least twice.

well i think we should stick with the piston arms since he uses them the most and they are the most powerful
I'd say that the gun arm is near as powerful and gives better tactical options.
And I -think- he keeps the other arm a piston arm while he uses the one gun arm.

next to last episode when he is fight big duo he uses the piston to attack him threw about ten skyscapers, blowing holes threw each lending up to the sky. how much more powerful are the gun arms
Big O - 7 votes
Gundam - 0 votes
The gun arm has enough power to shoot large holes in 'Big' class megadeuces (O, Duo, etc.) at close range and is generally a large amount of firepower.
It's not as much as the pistons of course, but it can kill megadeuces at long range and gives Roger more options.

well then i vote we do one gun and one piston, or was the gun arm both a gun and piston arm

I too have to log a vote for Roger the Negotiator. Unless it gets dragged into outer space, Gundam has not one advantage, be it weaponry or otherwise.
