The Official Ultimate Marvel vs. Dc Thread!

Ok, maybe someone out there has done this before, but I'm a true believer in that somethings can and ARE better than others and it's not just a mater of opinion or taste. Examples: The original Star Wars movies are better than the new ones, The new locking desgin on the heroclix flight bases are better than the old ones ect.

So following this logic I'm calling out all the Marvel Zombies and Dc lova's to a no holds barred bare fisted knock down drag out fight as to which company is better. Don't be a sissy. Pick a side and start swinging!

Ok kids, first shot:

Make mine Marvel. Even though I did enjoy ID crisis and am enjoying GL Rebirth, though I love to watch the JL and TT cartoons, and I have the action figures for each show, though I have many Heroclix of Dc Characters, when it comes down to it if God himself came down said I had to pick one of these companies to continue existing and the other wouid be destroyed and cast out of the memories of every human on the planet I would NOT hesitate for a moment in picking marvel over Dc.

I could go on but I want to get the ball rolling with other people's opinions so FLAME ON!

You'd have more success if you put this on the DC Comics
rather than Marvel Comics.
They're a lot more vocal over there.

For this to be a worthwhile discussion, you need t define terms and parameters.

1) Better in what sense?
2) Is this publisher Vs publisher, or universe Vs universe?

I prefer DC is both cases, and can make the argument for both aspects of question #2, but universe on universe I do believe it is a matter of taste, not quality. Publisher vs publisher, with no reservations, DC. They just have a much broader range of product to choose form, and have published a lot of better stuff, IMHO.

So, uh, how is this Official? Are Marvel and DC backing you? Or do you mean it's "Official" for HCRealms in which case do people who've been doing Marvel/DC threads for ages - e.g.: DTM - support this?

I'm going to take the thread's title literally and say that Ultimate Marvel is FAR better than DC, but the difference between Ultimates and 616 marvel is even greater. Apparently in 616 Marvel people cannot die, which REALLY bothers me; i mean whats the point?! You want me to be upset jean grey died? HA!! She'll be back, we all know it. At least in DC people die and are replaced (2nd robin is still dead, right?).

Conclusion:

Ultimate Marvel > DC > 616 Marvel
