X-Men: The End #1 - Rated 7 - Was pretty entertaning. Nothing much happens aside from more deaths. And atleast Northstar got a better death then he did over in the regular X-Men series (In Wolverines series). Only major thing to happen is that Prof X comes under attack at the end uh oh.

New Thunderbolts #6 - Rated 8 - Nukes in NY. Yipes. The team deals with a Hydra invasion as 2 of the members go around the city stopping nukes. At the end Cap Marvel shows up with a new name: Photon. Why isn't he kicking Atlas' butt? Good stuff! Liek good old fashioned stuff!

Mary Jane: Homecoming #1 - Rated 8 - Yea so I'm a little teenage girl cause I read MJ's series =) Harry wants MJ to help him cheat on a test but she ends up not and he breaks up with her. Plus Liz thinks MJ is after her man. Aaahhh drama...

Ultimate FF #16 - Rated 7 - Eh. Something about just rubs me the wrong way. It was entertaining. Perhaps its the lack of "clobberin time" but I'm sure Ill get that next issues as Annihilus tries to kill Reed and Ben.

AoA #2 - Rated 7 - X-23 AND Xorn! Milk it Milk it! X convinces Logan to come back with her after they take out Northstar and Aurora (NS sure is getting his butt kicked in the books lately). Plus, Magneto seems to be losing site of Xaviers dream... I wonder where this is all leading.

I like X-23 better in AoA than I do in the normal universe. The whole thing with how she got the adamantium was kinda cool.

Oh, and you won't belive who Xorn really is in AoA. I just read #3 and it is the best!

Photon? Thought that was the name the Fem Capt Marvel took after Legacy, son of the original Capt Marvel (of the reg MU) claimed the Cap name for himself.

As for NorthStar... Marvel suddenly hates Canadians, except Wolvie who makes them money. Look at the last Alpha Flight series. So, they off NorthStar a few times a month.

Think you should have given the Thunderbolts a 9 or 10. This issue was great. A mix of villians trying to be heros but don't know how, while HYDRA is looking to nuke New York for who knows what reason.

I hope some of them really do reform. I always liked Speed Demon as a Spiderman villian, he'd be great to have arround on a regular basis.

Did Pretty Persuasion join them?

I said
Since [I got it early last week] (and I thought [Dark Crisis] was getting this series):

New Thunderbolts #6 (7): A satisfying payoff to the first story arc, the New T-bolts rout Hydra's attempted invasion of New York with a little help from the New Warriors and... Starfire?! Take a look at the Warriors racing to face the ship, and see if you don't recognize that young lady. Did I say attempted invasion? My bad. Attempted destruction. Baron Strucker has placed 14 nuclear bombs on Manhattan and is detonating them in sequence to sink the island. Radioactive Man absorbs one, and Speed Demon and Blizzard try for the rest, Blizzard fretting about his suit breaking or running out of freon the whole time. Fun, action packed read, with Abe really stepping up to being a good leader. It also features the best line of the week, from Speed Demon:
"I'm not dying because you didn't go to Home Depot!"

Or maybe from Blizzard:
"I wanted to! You made me go to a strip club instead!"

Have a Great Day,
Gary E. Poisson

I'd rate Thunderbolts a 6, and it hurts to go that low with them. It was fairly anticlimactic for the first storyline. Nukes in NYC would kill more than hundreds, even without the radiation the initial blast (at that size) would have nailed at least a thousand maybe two.

And how on EARTH could nuking NYC give Von Strucker any sort of gain over his opponent?

What is with the Power Pack? Did they grow up or are they little kids? I mean we have one in Runaways, and we have the little version here. I'm confused.

my guess for what rubbed you the wrong way about Ultimate FF is...

Warren Ellis...

Though a great writer...

likes to...

Drag out.....

his stories...

over several issues...

more than is really necessary.

Power Pack get a new title first week of April.
They still look young.

I'm liking the pacing of the Ult. FF. He's spent sometime building the B story with Johny's skin vens closing, and now its paying off. And I liked the way Reed and Ben didn't notice the refugees the first time through the space station. The First time they were all in awe of meeting and alien and taking in everything around them that they didn't even notice how horrible looking it was for all the other beings on the station. Sure he could have moved the story along faster but then you miss that "human" element of just being awe of something the first time you see it, then seeing whats really there the second time.

I liked Thunderbolts #6, too! I take it that it is a Marvel tradition for all of the New York based heroes to on vacation, leaving just one hero or super team to face a major threat?

The FF are "away as usual"

The Avengers are disbanded

The X-Men only deal with mutants...

You get the idea.

Basically. Maximum Carnage was a 14 part storyline where Carnage and a bunch of other super powered nutjobs started killing the residence of NYC. Spidey gathers a group of (at best) B list heroes to fight them. (Except Cap, who isn't B-List). Ghostrider really should have shown up if nobody else. Innocent blood being spilled and all.

Its was Firestar not Starfire. Yeah when theyre flying its hard to tell the differnce, especially since Firestar and Justice (in the upper right corner) left the warriors to join the Avengers.

I with Captain America, Spiderman, the T-bolts, Power Pack, Captain Photon, Warbird and Warriors all in New York fighting the villians. So only Daredevil and the F4 were on vacation. So is Swordsman joining the Tbolts or what?

when does the next issue of runaways come out again?

And Daredevil spends most of his time in the Kitchen.

Hells kitchen, that is. Blind man in an actual kitchen could be bad, specially if Foggy plays a joke and mixes all the labels up on DD

They're grown up now. Late teens. Alex was a New Warrior for the middle run of that book. He took the powers from the other three and called himself Powerhouse. He had to give them back.

There's one in Runaways now.

There is a new Power Pack book coming out but it's a tale of them when they were still kids.

Last time I recall all the NY hero's teaming up, it was when Galactus had just finished dealing with Terrax and was gonna eat teh Earth, and it was Dr Strange who took him out. Old FF issue, I forget the number, but that was in the early 80's, I think before Secret Wars, and before the "Trail of Galactus", when Galactus got Nova (Frankie Raye) as a herald.

Most recent 'everyone teams up' thing I can recall was Maximum Security, which spilled into about 18 books, but was set up so you didn't actually have to read any.

The last self contained team up stuff I can think of was the Elements of Doom attack in v1 T-Bolts, where Spidey, Daredevil, the Heroes For Hire(!) and the New Warriors(!!), and even the Swordsman and Magdalena(!!!) were seen defending New York.
