Hulk #79 - Rated 7 - So the whole Island isa huge military experiment that makes your inner demons come out to play? K. And Hulk fights Fing Fang Foom who may or may not be an illusion (he claims not to be). It was entertaning. Liked seeing Hulk kick a dragons butt.
Cap. America #4 - Rated 7 - Okay I think that one of the buckies grew up and got mad at Cap A. Perhaps trying to be a "better" Cap A then the real one. Guess we will see.
Cable/Deadpool #13 - Rated 9 - Hilarious. This could just be a Deadpool book and I'd still buy it. DP is trying to solve a murder as a private detective... he comes to the conclusion that HE must have done it! But we the read knwo differnt =P
Young Avengers #2 - Rated 7 - Ant-girl? more like Giant Girl. That's a lot of cleavage. Wait she's 14? Erm... nevermind. So Cassie Lang and friend seek out to join the Young Avengers. Plus we learn about Iron Lad/Kangs history. Seems he doesn't want to grow up to be a villian.
Uncanny X-Men #457 - Rated 7 - Betsy with Super Str? Bad Claremont! BAD! No treat! And this thing with Rachel needs to get solved quick cause it's hit lame status. But then again I've never liked the Savage Land so...
Wolverine #26 - SHIELD is trying to cure Wolvie while the now evil Elektra goes around taking out villians for the Hand to take control of. Near the end a huge assualt of villians (and some heros) come to out the Helicarrier! Uh oh! Oh yea and Northstar is alive again. That sure was quick. And they made such a big deal about his death to.
AoA #3 - Rated 7 - Cool fights. X-23 has a name (in AoA) and we find out who Xorn is (which makes like NO sense). Why would she choose the name Xorn? What did she do for the X-Men? I guess she never used her powers cause that would probably have given her away. Eh.
Ultiamte X-Men - Rated 7 - Longshot is a murderer? Yea whatever. Kitty and Bobby hook up. Dazzler and Angel hook up. Colossus may still be gay. blah blah blah.
Ultimate Spider-man #74 - Rated 7 - The issue: Peter angsts some MORE. He needs to start cutting himself and listen to Linkin Park in his basement. Oh yea and this is the 3rd part of the "Hobgoblin" arch and we have NOT seenhim yet. At this rate by the end of the next issue maybe we will see his shadow!.... well after Peter angsts some more. Why I rated it a 7? I like the drama but the pace of this stuff is slow. It's obviously written for a TPB.
Ultimates 2 #4 - Rated 10 - Tony and Nat plan to get hitched. She also gets her own Iron Woman armor. WE find out Thor is really a crazy guy with kick butt tech made by Norwegia. Shocking shock right? I bet the BIG TWIST will be that Thor isn't crazy and Loki is rewriting reality.. While I was reading it I kept thinking why doesn't Thor just show them the hammer "isn't" tech to prove his point? Or atleast have Cap A ask to examine it?
Exiles #61 - Rated 8 - The Timebroker tries to convince the team NOT to seek him out. Why doesn't he just kick thier butts? Anyways they team up with Holocaust and port inside the crystal which takes them to the Timebrokers home.... next issue should be goooood.

Shurg, personally I'd like it better if Thor really turned out to be a psychotic nut job. There is no way that's the Thor of legend. Vikings were almost the definition of agressive expansionist capatalism. He'd be the poster boy for going in, kicking the carp out of nations, and taking what you wanted.
I mean, of course it'll turn out that he really is Thor, and it is all Loki yadda yadda yadda, but we all knew that, and we all expect it. It's not like it will be a big shock.
What would be a shock is if the 'real' Thor showed up and this one did turn out to be a psycho.
Any which way, I hope we get some good shots of CA kicking Thor's knackers in.

Age of Apocalypse #3: You know, I have really enjoyed this story so far. Unfortunately, I never read the original; story line (though I have been making an effort to collect it), and so I tend to get a little confused with the characterizations of the characters, compared to their 616 selves. This issue had some good action in it. Not sure I understand the whole Guthrie family angle (thought that Sam only had a brother, based on what I’ve read in X-Men), but it became kind of obvious to me that Paige was posing as Xorn, after they spoke about her and she smashed the screen. I’m really digging the art. 8 out of 10
Ultimates 2 #4: Pretty awesome. As soon as “Gunnar” started spinning his yearn, I knew it was Loki (or is it? ;) ) It was cool seeing the “Captains of the United Nations.” Are these guys new, or are they other 616 characters making the jump? Next issue is gonna ROCK! I like Cap’s final line, and how Wasp and Iron Man are trying like hell to convince Thor that he needs help. The only thing I have issue with….Iron Man’s proposal. Just seems out of whack to me, and seems as more of a set up, for some one to leave the team. Great issue, nonetheless. 9 out of 10
Ultimate X-Men #57 Solid issue. Does anyone else think that Spiral tricked Jean? It just doesn’t seem right to me, the way things panned out in that issue. Plus I was hoping Longshot (or is it Arthur Centino-just can’t get over that) would join the team. But it was a solid issue, just nothing mind-blowing 7 out of 10

Think U Longshor really is the killer, as per his outburst at the studio.
Think Thor really is Thor as he claims, but not going weep if he ain't. If real, the next issue will probably end with him revealing Loki, and the issue after fighting Loki, or something.
Rachel needs to snap out of it and change back. She's just not as sexy as a dinosaur...did I say that outloud?

Stormbreaker 3 0f 6: 7 Beta Ray Bill and Stardust have a literally planet-shattering battle. Though it appears that Bill has spectacularly killed his opponent, the Herald gets back up, and opens a portal to Hell to #### Bill in. Unfortunatly, something else gets out...
There's another scene of what happened to the Korbinite who discovered Galactus/Ashta's coming. I'm not sure what the point of these are; do they tie into a larger plot thread, or are they simply to show what life is like for a typical member of Bill's race during such crisises?

Oh, and the cover is a homage to the first Silver Surfer/Thor battle, with Bill standing in the exact same pose Thor did on the cover of...was it Silver Surfer (Volume 1) #3 or #4?
This isn't "Gunnar's" first appearance in Ultimates either, go back and check out Ultimates 2 #1....

So what's the rating?
For what it's worth, I thought it was pretty good, say about an 8. For awhile, it seemed like every Wolverine story was just some Weapon-X related conspiracy, occasionally interrupted by flashbacks, and solved by Wolverine doing his bezerker rage thing. The last story arc with HYDRA-brainwashed Wolverine was very cool, and this issue is a pretty good follow-up. The splash pages with the brainwashed supervillains/heroes charging the Helicarrier was very cool indeed.
I agree that they made too big of a deal over Northstar's death (really, name one X-Men who has actually remained dead permanently). But it was pretty obvious that HYDRA was going to try to resurrect and brainwash Northstar once Wolvie killed him, and at least, his resurrection makes sense story-wise.

4. I just looked at that cover last night. 3 was Mephisto's first appearance.

Tricky, but not impossible.
Changeling, died way back when posing as Xavier.
Thunderbird I, John Proudstar, killed indirectly by Count Nefaria.
Magik, Illyana Rasputin, Collosus' sister. I think she's still dead, though Nighcrawler's old girlfriend Amanda Stefon used the codename a couple of times since her passing.
Joseph, Magneto's clone.
Maggott, killed by, I think, former friend and teammate Marrow, as part of a twisted mind game by the people at Weapon X. In any case, Mr Sinister now keeps his former slugs/guts as pets.
Ult. X-Men: I like the twist on the "normal" X-Men/super hero story (nothing new, but I still like it). Make the likable guy you're sure is innocent guilty and the evil woman you are sure is guilty innocent. I also liked how you kinda learn with Nightcrawler, Colossus, Angel and Dazzler, in issue one they couldn't understand why Xaiver wouldn't want to just save Longshot (as a reader, I sided with them), now they know why. They learned a lesson (they are in school). However I think the team is getting way to big, can't even keep all the characters in one book. With the Ult. Defenders showing up soon I wouldn't mind seeing some of the X-Men (like Dazzler and Angel) deciding they don't like how Xaiver does things and leave for the Defenders, but thats me.
Ult. Spider-Man: Again I'm liking this story, Bendis is milking the self-brooding Peter Parker a little too much but he still write's some of the best teenaged superhero stuff out there right now. The pacing is slow but thats par for the course for Ult. Spider-man, its not a book where a new guy in a costume shows up every other issue.
Ultimates: This is the best super hero team book right now. Not sure if "Iron Maiden" is ever going to pay off, but it looked pretty #### cool. Like the questions about Thor's origins right now (honestly, I can't tell which way Millar will go with this - is Loki pulling the strings or is Thor really nuts - I can see it going both ways). #4 gave me a lot of good info and deeped the story, and made me want #5 very, very badly, can't wait to see the Euro Captains in action. Will all the Euro Captains have similiar powers to Captain Britian (if they keep it the same as 616 - flight, Super Strength, Inv. etc...) or will they all be different?

Is 616 a term for the normal marvel Universe????
and how did it come about?

It's all in the details. That's how you know who does their research, and who's the hack.
Incredible Hulk #79 - Fin Fang Foom introduces himself as "he whose limbs shatter mountains and whose back scrapes the sun". Perfect. A+ to Peter David.
Fantastic Four - Foes #3 - Super Skrull stretches and punches someone with a rocky fist at the same time. If he can combine powers like that, why doesn't he use all his powers all the time? Kirkman doesn't know and doesn't care, he just wants to get paid.

I think Millar is going to take this whole Thor drama and deliver us what we all want: Ultimate Loki. That's the only thing that it could POSSIBLY be! And when Millar lets him loose, it's going to be bigger than the last volume.
I like (actually, not really) how Thor took out Quicksilver. You know #5 is going to be full of action, and we will see what Thor can REALLY do. All of the flyers are gone, remember last volume where Thor takes down the Skrull ships?
I think there will be some heavy monologue next issue though, Thor explaining it while they are in Asgard, or something along those lines.

When hasn't he been able to combine powers?
Super Skrull pictures on Google (http://images.google.com/images?hl=en&lr=&q=super+skrull&btnG=Search)
Why doesn't he use all his powers all the time? Maybe it's hard to concentrate on more than one at a time.
[I'd think that a rocky hand and long arm would be rather simple for a shapeshifter. Not even a power, really.]
