... heard from Ain't It Cool news that there's some confirmed new mutants in the movie... get ready for:
Beast
Gambit
and also... Angel. But not as we know him... I think in the interest of balancing the gender ratio a little, they've turned him into a girl.
I would normally react at them messing with the character, but the prospect of a hottie with wings on the big screen has me... uhh... speechless.
Hot girls with wings are cool but there is already Jean,storm,Rogue so they dont really need to mess with the genders...they could of added kitty pride instead.
...or psylocke, or emma ect. X-men has such a big roster, changing genders is not nesseary.

One this Angel could be based on the new Angel (Beak's wife) and two Storm is almost assuredly out last i herad bc Halle's salsry versus what she would do wouldnt be worth it. And Rogue really has no powers perse so shes really a minor one know which only leaves Jean whos dead (bwahaha)

If it's done well, I'm OK with it.
Like it or not, these movies are so popular that no one cares if a bunch of fan boys are peeved off about a character change. If the movie is good, people will see it and it will make tons of dough.

or they could not mess with angel's gender and give shadow cat a larger role. htere's jubilee who they could buld on and don't forget colossus is supposed to have more screen time. ithink that and iceman taking on his ice form or even making a ice sled or bridge would be better. if angel is in fact a femoale in x3 i hope it is beak's wife and not warren.
It would be funniest if Iceman was a woman. Unless they changed it to Icewoman, then, not so funny.

Currently, X3 is primed to start filming sometime this summer, with a script being worked on by Zak Penn and Simon Kinberg. No plot details as yet, but it could, in all likelihood, focus on the Dark Phoenix Saga, featuring a resurrected, evil and impressively powerful Jean Grey (Famke Janssen). We spoke to X3 producer Lauren Shuler Donner last week, and she confirmed that all the old gang are back, including Wolverine himself Hugh Jackman (who's also producing), with the possible exception of Halle Berry (Storm), who's still in talks.

An overweight teen with a bad attitude and bug wings? Ugh, I'll pass. Think I might actually see them turn classic Angel into a girl before that. But as long as the movie's good I guess I can forgive whatever they might do that I don't particularly like.

Update... seems like Angel will be a guy after all, and Gambit's role will be rather small, probably just a cameo like Colossus had in X2.

I might be able to stomach a Gambit cameo. It must never get beyond that. But it is still not a good sign.
And I fear the guy that plays Colossus is not a very good actor. I love Colossus. I will be sad if he doesn't get to smash a bit more.
I saw this on IMDb this morning.
"Alan Cumming, who appeared in the series' second installment, will not be reprising his role as popular mutant Nightcrawler in X-Men 3."
Yeh, I saw that too. It totally sucks. :(

This and the other stuff I've heard just further tells me that X3 IS going to suck.

Yeah, this movie has carp written all over it. My apologies to all of the Gambit haters in the crowd, but a vast majority of X-men fans LOVE Gambit, because he's on of the most versatile and well-built characters in the series. The only one who piques anyone's interest more than Gambit is good ole' Wolvie. They should have had Gambit much earlier in the series. A Cameo does him no justice whatsoever.
Colossus is one of my favorites too, but he's still a kid in this series, he's pretty much just a good bullet-deflector. They already ruined his character, there's no turning back.
Kitty Pryde can't be in the series, she was what? Seven years old? In the second movie, she was far too young, unless we have more than one shadowcat.
Ok, so we spent an entire sequel getting used to Nightcrawler, and now we're done with him already. Wow, their character building is just top notch, isn't it? They can't possibly screw anything else up...wait....Angel is a GIRL??? Storm is out???
We've got Beast, Gambit, and Angel showing up, right? Ok, so why are we introducing characters that should have been there from the beginning? I can't wait to hear the horrible storyline that involves Beast's involvement with Xavier (Old college pals, of course!!!).
Sorry, X-1 sucked, X-2 was WORSE, and X-3 has given itself no hope at all. Little advice for those of you that may plan to screenwrite in the future: Don't let your audience know that you're doing the stuff they hate until you have them in the theatre.

In the comic book there is a new "Angel" character. She's part housefly. In X3 Angel will be Warren Worthington, a man. Storm is gettinga bigger piece of the movie. In fact, I've heard that the movies becomes a "Storm and Wolverine" movie (and they are lovers).
Beast was in X2 as a cameo, he had no blue fur. Now, it would seem he will be in X3 and has the blue fur and had it for quite sometime (see also the Kitty Pryde stuff).
Maybe the previous Kitty Pryde issues and Hank McCoy without the fur issues can be resolved by saying that Mystique was impersonating them ...

I was thinking that Halle Berry has backed out of X3. After Catwoman tanked, she said that she didn't wanna do anymore superhero movies.
Also, Gambit, Kaine, Quicksilver, Desert Ghost, the Multiple Man, and Scarlet Witch (I'm missing a couple) were all mentioned in X2. Granted their names were on screen for all of thirty seconds.

Okay, Halle can cry me a river over Catwoman. I'm sorry, but it had "sucks" written all over it. If she can't read a script, then she needs to get out of the business.
Secondly, we've seen Wolvie and Storm as lovers in like alternate futures before, and it's worked pretty well. Unfortunately, I absolutely despise the acting of Storm and Wolvie. I think watching my parents make out would be more entertaining.
No, wait, it wouldn't. But that's about all the points I'll give them.
Didn't pick up on the fact that Pryde was a teenager in the first film, now I'm pretty sure I hate the screenwriters....
And I didn't notice the cameo of Beast without fur. Now, in Ultimate X-men, he has some sort of accident eventually, right? I don't read Ultimate X-men, I'm just guessing. I'll also be pretty damn pissed if I see the blue furball in CG Hulkavision taking on Wolvie, and then see the Rubbernaut. Not that I have no faith in this team....but I absolutely despise them.
And if I even catch a RUMOR that the reason Storm has a bigger part in this film is because of her salary or her failure with Catwoman, I won't even give this movie a viewing. I won't even bother to BT it.

The Beast cameo came when Wolfie was in that bar in Canada. He was on the TV. Dr Hank McCoy. That's Beast.
Beast is a mutant who first appeared without fur. He had abnormal sized hands and feet, and excelled in high school and college both in academics and in football. After becoming a doctor who specializes in mutation, McCoy developed a serum that isolated the gene for mutation. Knowing the government was on their way to forcibly take his serum to control the mutant problem, he ingested it himself, causing a secondary mutation. The result of the mutation is that he grew blue fur all over his body. He has since continued to mutate into a feline form, until he found a way to stop it. I think that's all...
As we already know (from the computer screen shots, wall displays, and the X Rays in the Adamantium-works) that the MALE Warren Worthington is the Angel in this version of the X-Universe, then, if there IS a winged female, it is not likely to be a female version of Warren...more likely to be either Mimic, or Angel II, or a variant of Nocturne.
I would not object to the use of a winged female character by any means - but they mess with Warren at their peril !

Both these things are true...I was simply pointing out that, as the Male Warren Worthington is already established as the Angel in the movie-variant of the X-Men, a "winged female" would have to be a variant of someone else.
Tends to sugest that Storm won't be in it, so another female character is needed - logic dictates another non-white female flier - so who could that be ... only one logical choice, if it's a character who is already female ...
