And Round 3 is off and running. Thus far another battle of the Uber Mages (of a sort) leaves us with Venger defeating Lord Hazanko currently. With days left to that or any other Round 3 match up though, its still anybodys fight.

Now without further adieu, allow me to present your next battle in a BRAND NEW (Actually unless youre from Mars, these are pretty old hat by now) type of Tournament Of Champions:

Junk Planet - What a pile of junk. The surface of this planet is covered with debris and old junk. Mountains of it rise up from the hard baked dirt floor, weaving canyons through the never-ending sea of debris. Not even the equipment meant to process and compact all this litter works any more. Oberon (Gargoyles) - Oberon has been around a long, long time. His origins are lost to us, but he is the unquestioned Lord of Avalon and Ruler of the Third Race, the Fae. Oberon is the most powerful of all of the Third Race. At full strength, he can, with a thought or gesture, do practically anything, including putting an entire city to sleep, growing as tall as a skyscraper, summoning lightning storms, and projecting magical blasts. He is also very arrogant and regal, doing as he sees fit with anything. Oberon's magical energy does have limits, although reaching those limits takes considerable time. He does have the typical fay weakness to iron, which seems to drain his energy quicker.


Mewtwo (Pokemon) - Geneticly enginered from DNA of the legendary Pokemon Mew, the Psychic type Pokemon, Mewtwo is arguably the most powerful Pokemon ever. He communicates with telepathy, and his Telekinetic powers can create energy attacks, incredibly powerful force fields, and give him the ability to fly. His TK abilities are strong enough to level an entire island research base. He has super human intelligence, shown by the fact he's mastered the science of cloning and Pokeball technology. His major flaw is his arrogance and his deep burning hatred for all humans.

Hm, Mewtwo has plenty to TK in this environment. And guess what? I can guarantee it has iron. Lots of iron. Enough to distract Oberon so Mewtwo can compact him.

Vote: Mewtwo, only because he has arena advantage.

Holy cow what a terrible, terrible terrain pull for Oberon, I'd forgotten that that monster was in here. I vote for Mewtwo, as there is iron everywhere to be used againt Oberon.

Poor Oberon...the terrain finally got him. What a way to go too...Mewtwo for the win. Way too much stuff in this terrain to use against him. Mewtwo will stand haughtily over the body. Mewtwo to round 4.

Id have to vote Mewtwo as well, and even cringed a bit when I say where Oberon was fighting here. In near any other terrain, Id have to go Oberon, but in a world such as this (filled with metal of all shapes, sizes and variations) I have to vote for Mewtwo to advance.

Keep those votes coming all, if we get enough votes supporting this match being a bit one sided, I can post another Round 3 match before I leave for work. The more votes we have supporting this, the better chance we have at this, so VOTE NOW. :)

Good grief, I've gotta vote for the Pokemon. When I first saw the group advancing to round 3, I thought, "Wow. Squirtlechu or Charduck or whatever his name is won't stand a chance against any of these guys. They're all, like, demigod level sorcerors or giant indestructable monsters. Back in your ball, cat." Then he gets this terrain against this opponent. I stand corrected. I choose you, Mewtwo...

Mewtwo. It's just too good a terrain pull for him not to win.

Not only is the terrain a great pull for Mewtwo, but his psionic skills might enable him to "disrupt" Oberon's spell-casting (i.e.: it's hard to concentrate to throw out a spell while you're being attacked mentally and physically). The 50's Sci-Fi Movie Homage moves on to the next round.

Holy cow, nothing in this battle will go in Oberon's favor. Even if he were to somehow find a clear area, two seconds later Mewtwo would fill it in with all kinds of iron scrap.
Oberon get's beat like a red-headed stepchild by the pissed off Pokemon.

I'm impressed, someone can beat Oberon.

The terrain on it's own could not beat Oberon.

Mewtwo on his own would be outmatched by Oberon, and he knows it.


Many combatants in this terrain still couldn't beat Oberon (many of the mecha, the lava guy that got taken out in the first round, magic users who can have their spells countered by Oberon). But between TK, high speed, a genius mind, and iron, Mewtwo can.


My vote: Mewtwo.

Yeeowch this is not good for Oberon. Had to happen eventually, I suppose. Mewtwo has just the right power set to take advantage of the weakness, too. I'll throw in a vote for him.

Ahh... first time Mewtwo tries that, he might decide to invest in a scrap metal helmet so he can focus on more direct attacks. Going into Oberon's mind is not going to be too successful for anyone.
