WOW....there are some powerful characters there. Deathstroke, Dragon, Shiva, Bane, Azrael, Ras, Prometheus, KG Beast, Hush. Again I say, WOW. Gotham City is going to be in worse shape than No Mans Land when this is done.

I vote for Lady Shiva ... she is bad-arse! Even though there are some crazy customers up in that piece, she can still overcome them through unparalleled martial arts training, bloodlust and sheer ruthlessness. Prometheus might pose a problem, but even then, I think Shiva wins out.

I'm gonna say Joker, but not for the reasons you might suspect.

I see Scarecrow trying to cheat, and setting off a huge fear bomb, sending the vast majority of baddies fleeing for their lives. The only two left aside from 'Crow are Poison Ivy (who's immune) and Joker (who, as we see in the Kightfall event, is immune to 'Crow's toxin). Not sure if any of the other baddies are immune...oh, heckers, it's my book. They aren't.

Joker and Ivy take down Scarey toot sweet (he can't affect them) and then it's a boy vs. girl fight ending only when a villain NOT in this contest, the darling Harley Quinn, chooses to intercede on the side of her sweetie, eschewing friendship in the name of love.

The two leave, cackling. Joker Burger franchises open up overnight.

I think we are gonna see some pairings...but in the end its gonna have to be someone like Ivy or Deathstroke. Ivy, while not hte strongest, has the best defense around. Both Ivy and Deathstroke are the thinkers (of this bunch...and you know you got a rough bunch when Ivy makes it on the braniac list) and will let the others do the dirty work while they wait to go in for the kill. Ivy will string the villains up, one by one. In the end, its gonna be Ivy vs. Deathstroke. And I don't know who will win...how much can Deathstroke resist Ivy's allure?

Riddler and Two Face will try to make deals but I don't think its gonna work...especially not for Riddler after what happened in Hush.

In the end, Ivy and Deathstroke, and I think I might have to give my vote to Ivy. She has that ability to get into your skin (literally) with her mind control powers. I don't know if Deathstroke will be able to resist it....

I give it to Hush. I believe he is the smartest of the bunch and has the skills to match. However, Joker is the wildcard. He is so unpredictable that he could end up winning it all.

I'm going to go with Azrael. While Shiva is the most skilled, she can get worn down, and with Dragon here, that will happen.

Az has amoung the highest physical endurance here, is the hardest to hurt here, and is still really skilled and smart. IMO, only Deathstroke could take him one-on-one, and Az has the edge over him in this environment of a contained breathing supply so he doesn't have to worry about Joker Gas, Fear Toxin, Prometheus injecting him with anything, etc. etc..


Several could take it, but Azrael has all-around the best chance IMO.

Gotta agree that the Joker would rule the day. It's not going to be easy for him, but there isn't anyone one of those figures who'll be able to predict what the lunatic would do (even Deathstroke can't predict what Joker would do).

Deathstroke. Shiva /could/ beat him. If he sat there and let her beat on him. And while she's good, a bomb or a bullet will still kill her. Faster-than-human timing and brain power, an arsenal of lethal weapons No one in this crowd could really stand up to a few well placed bullets. Prometheus could give Deathstroke problems, but I think he's outgunned against Slade in the smarts department.

Being a Azrael fanboy im throwing my vote in for him but I will tell you why.....

The Azbat armor to Jean Paul is what Bruce's utility belt is to him...Jean Paul is ready for any situation his gauntlets fire sharp blades, and he is definately not afraid to go for the kill...if he shoots the blades at Robin,Nightwing and Bruce then he is going to have no problem using them on these guys (remember Batman 500 when Bane tried to run away). The suit has a air tank,flamethrower,light etc and if Batman wasnt able to exploit a weakness in it (he merely got him to take it off) I dont think anyone else would be able to....

And remember he has encountered many of these people before as batman

-Joker (gave him lots of trouble but Jean Paul nearly killed him arrival of the police saved his life)
-Bane (Beaten in Batman 500 now with the Knightsend armor he would be a bloody mess after Jean Paul is done with him)
-Killer Croc (Jean Pauls first appearance as batman before bruce was broken was against him Croc would have snapped JPV like a twig if Bane hadnt showed up...but now with the armor and JPV sporting a hate on from there encounter i dont think he could win)
-Deathstroke (in the chain gang wars he escaped before Azrael could finish him but later in Azrael 45/46 he beats slade i think...)
-Scarecrow (handled him without the Azbat suit so i dont think he would be a problem)

Actually, she stands a better chance than that. Remember, in a fight, she can read moves sorta like Batgirl (not as in as many areas, but in a fight...), the two are almost identical in skills.

And in HtH, Slade was unable to land solid blows on Batgirl. He gets off on higher reaction speed, but he doesn't have the foresight in HtH has some of the others. Whichever one won between Shiva and Slade would not be in good condition to continue, Shiva would beat on him for several minutes before she'd be tired enough that he could exploit.


Unless she gets taken by surprise (which can and does happen), Shiva's going to take quite a lot of effort to take out, for anyone.

Well I will have to vote for Joker.
Deathstroke and Shiva will probably take each other out of it.
Prometheus with out prep time might be out of his league depending on whose fighting style he has on hand, besides lately he has gotten whupped by GA who, no offense is not Batman.
The real wildcard will be scarecrow depending on which version shows up. If its poor John Crane he gets taken out but if its that hulking monster He could take it all.
One person though who i think who should have been included was Mr Freeze as he could deifntly impact this match

I have to go with Shiva. I would love to see JPV take it, but the minute they "pop up" all of them are going for Batman-lite. I'd give Azrael a better chance in his original armor, but wearing the Azbats armor is painting a huge "get me first" target on his chest. He does not go down easy, but he does fall after taking out most of the straight forward attackers. Meanwhile, Deathstroke and Promethus beat the carp outta each other. They use all manner of devices and skills, but at the end it is down to a sword vs. club (that has no other powers left), with Slade winning. Joker immediately attacks Hush, and wins this time due to the lack of prep time by Hush. While this is going on, Shiva is quietly taking out the rest of the lesser threats with some silent assasin type moves.
Comes down to Deathstroke, Joker and Shiva. While they both know she is dangerous, Joker goes after a hurt Deathstoke, only to get creamed; but Slade takes another loss, his sword is dissolved in acid. Weaponless and hurting, Shiva pounces on Deathstroke for the victory.

I had to leave for work before I could give an explanation why I voted for Prometheus.

Prometheus is like the Batman of villains, he plans, he has contigency plans and he studies. Without prep time, it puts him at a disatvantage against some of the bigger guys here, but not by too much. He still has, like batman, a "basic" set of things for any situation... and by loading up Batman's Fighting style, he could take most of these guys... and he's smart enough to let the other threats fight it out until he can go in for a kill.

I think Richard Dragon (who I believe is on this list) would take her, and I believe Deathstroke would take him. Shiva is mostly shown as unarmed, while DS is armed to the teeth, in addition to being much stronger, faster, tougher and smarter than Shiva (not to mention he regenerates to her not)

Dragon's the number 3 martial artist in the world and used to be better than Shiva. He'd at least take her out of the running, and is actually good enough to have a chance at a win.

As soon as he puts on the Azbat suit he is Batmans enemy. He is regarded as bruces biggest failure right up there with Jason Todds death....remember JLA/Avengers #3 the story sucked that issue but it was pretty cool when every hero was shown there defining moments of there career and for Batman up pops Azbats and you can see the disdain in his eyes looking at Jean Paul.

I thought it was established that Dragon IS the better HTH character, and is Shiva superior. And while Ill admit Shiva is a better HTH fighter over Deathstroke, he has WAY too many other advantages over her that would make me say she can take DS in a fight. Batman and Shiva are about even overall (yes Batman has defeated Shiva in combat), Deathstroke plain and simply is superior to Batman.

Its funny, Poison Ivy's innate mind control abilities will be able to take down even the strongest fighters (she took down Superman and made him her "lady dog"). Scarecrow, if he has access to his fear toxins can take down a lot of people (I think Joker and Poison Ivy are the only ones out of this list immune to it). Ivy here would not only control some of the fighters (Bane, Shiva, Deathstroke), make them fight the other opponents, and then take them down when she is done. She might have problems with Az because of the suit, but thats why she has Bane, Shiva, and Deathstroke fighting for her.

Ivy should have more votes...what, no love for the plant lady?

I gotta go with Deathstroke here. He's the best all around fighter here (great at hth, ranged options, brains, and a little bit of regen). I say he sits on a roof top, sniping people. If he doesn't have a rifle, then he'll stalk down the competiton. Lets face it, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Ivy, and come of the others will get taken out before they know what going on. Dragon hates Shiva, and vice versa. So those two might fight for a long time, giving Deathstroke an opening for a nicely timed explosion.

How is Ivy or Scarecrow going to effect everyone? They won't be standing around in a big group waiting for Ivy or Crow to get off some mind control or fear dust.

Do they carry large amount of it? I thought Ivy's mind control wasn't a natural ability, but one she gets through a powder or some plant.

Ivy can control plants, they approach her in the Gardens of Gotham (the park), she ensnares them and gets them to do her bidding. Ivy needs plants to do it, and she has plenty of them in Gotham Park, where she will be heading. Some of these guys are the brightest in the tactics department (sans Deathstroke), yet Ivy knows that her strength is in getting the other bruisers to do her dirty work. If she can mind control Superman, she can mind control all these competitors here.

You get close enough to Scarecrow and he can inflict his fear gas. But again, I don't think it will work on Az because of his suit and Joker and Ivy are immune to it.

This is why I think Ivy will have the heavy hitters under her spell and doing her work for her, taking out the others (or heck, letting her minions take the fall). That is the way Ivy works. No Man's Land showed her powers with the plants and Hush showed that she can mess even with the boy in blue.

Come on...show some love for the PLant Lady!

I vote Joker. Since this fight is spur of the moment and with many combatants in a free for all planning will be important but this fight will be more of a fight of opportunity. They are all hunting each other so when a couple are fighting a third or fourth might just waltz in. Joker is the King of opportunity. He can disappear in a crowd better than anyone. He can take a beating with a smile and a laugh. Everyone else has one common attribute. They all have a predetermined method to doing things. Joker’s greatest asset is that he uses people’s predictability against them. It is one of the reasons he seems so unpredictable. He trusts people to be themselves and lets them.

I would see him going after Crane first and inflicting him with his own fear toxin, stripping him naked and sending him out in the street like a raving lunatic and he is of course going to save some for later because it is funny. Deathstroke will probably find a clock tower and pop off people stupid enough to fight it out one on one. For example Shiva vs. Bane. Toward the end of the fight two shots are heard. One for each of their heads. Killer Crock, Bane and your other toe to toe people will eventually run into each other and that fight will make enough noise to attract your sneaky bastards who will attack with surprise from the shadows.

In the end it comes down to four people fighting it out. Joker, Ivy, Jean Paul, and Slade. Azrael will probably be beat to hell because he will probably be enemy #1. Slade will take him out at this point because he has been hanging back and saving his energy but in the end the fight is going to end up either on Ivy’s turf or Jokers. Slade will plan but he is proactive and will go to them. If he goes after Ivy he becomes love slave and then goes after Joker or he can just go right after Joker. Joker will coax him into a fight Slade will win, fighting it out in an abandoned cream pie factory and as Slade is beating about to beat him to death or slit his throat out comes the left over fear toxin (which Slade could not expect from Joker) and it is between Ivy and Joker. I personally think Joker wins.

You overestimate Joker...he cannot fight to save his life. His is a madman, able to committ unspeakable crimes without remorse. He is unpredictable. But he can be taken down in a hand to hand fight no problem. If he tries to take Ivy on in her turf (which is something he would do), he will go down. I love Joker (and he is my favorite Bat Villain of all time) but after reading NO Man's Land and Hush, I respect Ivy so much (and think they did such a poor job on her clix form). She controlled Catwoman and Superman, she took down Clayface, and she destroyed a cave with her plants and powers. Ivy will use her pesuasive powers to her maximum ability to help Gotham be "reborn".

I went into this thing saying Joker. I have herd some pretty good arguments for various people but without preperation people like Prometheus go down. Without hand to hand combat (something joker wouldnt do....or maybe he would) people like Shiva (who yes batman has beat) go down. The wildcards are Deathstroke and Azrael. I dont know what they would do but one thing they wouldnt do is predict the Joker, The Batman cant even do that. He is amune to Ivy and smarter (or crazier i should probably say) than many give him credit for, and he is batmans greatist foe.

(although i would say Ivy is a good choice as well but my blind devotion to joker tells me otherwise. But seriouosly Ivy with her entire mob of mindcontroled villians would be tough t beat.)

I have to go with Deathstroke as well. He beat Azrael in Az's wilder days, is basically Batman+, and has the energy blasting staff. The staff alone is the most dangerous weapon in this fight and anyone wielding it has good odds, the fact that he has numerous other weapons at his disposal only increase his odds.

If Freeze were in the fight, I'd probably actually give it to him. I'd think he'd be able to get off a range attack (which would permenantly incap any of these guys) before they could get in base. Which again leaves Slade to contend with, but, the versatility of the Freeze Gun > Slade's weapons.

Im impressed with quite a few of the combatants but in the end I vote deathstroke for the same reasons others have given. He isnt the very best hand to hand combatants here (though close) but he has enough of tricks including the sword im pretty sure he can take out the rest.

About Ivy--she controlled Superman with Kryptonite lipstick--otherwise, it would have had no effect. (He's pretty much immune to poisons, etc.) Ivy is cool, but she's not as powerful as you're making her out to be.

Alright here is a little story to give this some closure



A blinding light flashes on top of a apartment building on main street in Gotham City when it subsides 15 of the most dangerous individuals in the world are left in its wake.....

The Joker an extremely dangerous homicidal maniac who crippled Barbara Gordon and who until recently was thought to of killed the 2nd Robin, Bane the man who broke the bat, Deathstroke an internationally-renowned mercenary, Lady Shiva the worlds greatest martial artist, Wearing the Azbat armor is Jean Paul Valley the man who assumed the mantle of the bat when Bruce was broken by Bane, the Lazarus pit rejuvenated Riddler, Ras al Ghul whose name translates as "The Demons Head", Prometheus a man who has taken on the entire JLA by himself, mastermind Hush who until recently was thought to be Thomas Elliot, KG Beast a brute with intimidating strength, Killer Croc whose skin condition gives his body natural durability, Scarecrow the self proclaimed " God of fear", Twoface a ruthless criminal whose actions are influenced by the flip of a coin, Poison Ivy a woman who wants to see Gotham reborn with plants replacing humans and Richard Dragon the greatest male maritial artist in the world. The one thing connecting them all is their encounters with Batman......
Initial shock comes across the 15 fighters over their surroundings but confusion gives way to anger . The Joker points at Azrael and remarks " the imposter? i thought the real Batman got rid of you a while back....oh well that just means more fun for us" with that the group begins surrounding the young assasin but the system kicks in and Jean Paul becomes Azrael lunging forward firing his blades at the encircling mob, most dodge them but Twoface is hit in the arm stunning him long enough for Azrael to swing his gauntlet covered fist at Twoface sending him crumbling to the ground. Riddler watches the melee surrounding Azrael and pulls Joker to the side and tells him "this is a good oppurtunity for you to deliver your side of our deal....kill Hush....". The Joker smiles and then pulls a knife from his trenchcoat and sneaks behind Hush, Prometheus seeing his recent ally in trouble breaks off from Azrael and jumps at Joker kicking him in the gut, behind them Bane slams Ras to the ground grumbling "i hope you didnt think i had forgot our little feud" Ras tries to punch Bane but the hulking monster blocks it and lifts him into the air throwing him off the apartment building retorting "rest in peace old man". Meanwhile Poison Ivy has blown a dust like vapour at Richard Dragon bringing him under her control....."perfect" she murmurs then orders him to go after the one known as Shiva the fight is host to a amazing display of martial arts but Shiva finally finishes of Dragon with a shattering kick to the gut sending him flying over the ledge, realizing Poison Ivy's treachery she makes quick work of her with a flurry of punches realizing she must get rid of her immediately. Riddler watches as Prometheus smacks the Joker around but is tapped on the shoulder by Hush who is quick to hit Riddler on the head knocking him unconcious before he can react. Jean Paul fires his flamethrower at the KG Beast giving him the time necassary to break away and shoot his blades at the Russian sending him slumping to the ground. Croc and Bane trade punches with each other with Croc snickering " its been a while since you broke my arms but you know what they say old wounds die hard", but his ferocity isnt enough as Bane hits him with a flurry of punches until the Green monster falls down. Prometheus is about to finish off the Joker but before he is able to he is hit with a sickening kick, before getting up he loads Batmans fighting style and faces his opponent the mercenary Deathstroke. Shocked he realizes that Deathstroke is faster and stronger and before Deathstroke delivers his finishing blow he consoles himself with the fact that if he had more time to prepare he would might have won..... Scarecrow withdraws himself from the fight after realizing his gas wouldnt effect the armored Batman, he waits for the field to thin themselves out before he makes his move, he hears movement behind him when he turns around to see Shiva she hits him with a precise hit to his sternum knocking him out. Joker grimaces on the ground sore from Prometheus's assault, as he looks up he can see Hush standing over him......Hush slowly removes the bandages from his face and a shocked look crosses Jokers face....he remembers that face the age is different but that must be the Robin he killed, Joker smiles and remarks "well i guess nobody ever stays dead anymore...no matter" before Hush strikes Joker grabs Prometheus's baton that is lying on the ground and hits the resurrected robin with it sending him staggering before he crumbles to the ground. As Azrael closes in on the Joker he hears a voice " well Pretender I guess we cross paths one more time" as he looks to the direction of the voice he is tackled by Bane, weakened by Bane's formidable punches he activates his light blinding Bane and hits him with a devastating array of blades that send Bane slumpin to the ground. Azrael looks over and watches as Shiva hits Deathstroke with an amazing combination of punches and kicks that would shatter any normal human....but Deathroke isn't any normal human.....he recovers and is able hit Shiva hard enough to stun her allowing him to withdraw is gun and finish her. From their previous encounter Jean Paul knows he has to act fast to stop Deathstoke so he quickly lunges at his fellow assasin firing a barrage of blades at Deathstroke, the merc sprawls trying avoid them but Shiva's punches and kicks have slowed his reflexes and he falls to the ground, Azrael quickly closes in and finishes the job.

Jean Paul uses the remote control in his gauntlet to send for his batmobile basking in the fact that he has won a fight that his mentor Bruce would never have been able to.....looking down from the apartment he can see his batmobile pull up and the roof open but as he is about to leap down from the building he hears a blood curling laugh....." Well imposter this isnt over yet....you know what they say he who laughs last laughs loudest" agitated Azrael jumps at the Joker but is hit in the mask with a spray of acid emanating from the flower on the Jokers coat. As his visor begins to smoke blinding him Jean Paul quickly removes his mask as the acid burns through his visor..... throwing his helmet to the ground he looks around for the Joker....suddenly he is hit with a blunt object knocking him unconscious.

As Jean Paul regains consciousness he notices that he is in the passenger seat of the batmobile, the Azbat suit is off him and his arms and legs are restrained looking to the driver seat he can see someone wearing his Azbat armor driving the car then he hears that voice " look who is wearing the spiffy threads now imposter...I hope you dont mind..." Jean Paul tries to regain his composure but his voice comes out scared and weak "what do...you want" "Well the Joker retorts me and you are going to have a night on the town....with your suit here im going to bring this city to its knees" The Joker then pulls a tazer from his coat and jabs the frightened Jean Paul with it causing him to scream.....as the car speeds down the road the pedestrians passing by all hear the same thing.....A horrified scream followed by a maniacal laugh........

uh how is this even a discussion. The only candidates would be Deathstroke and Prometheus. I say Prometheus considering Prometheus has taken on the main JLAers while deathstroke beat a team of second stringers, with an badly written Kyle. But I haven't read deathstroke's comic, so I may be under rating him.

And everyone has been badly written at some point, I won't even mention Gotham Knights. Because If were including that then Hush would win because aparently he's better than everyone. And smarter than batman. Liberman is carp.

...Oh I just read the thread and I responded without knowing it was over. I guess it's apropriate for Mistah J to win, as he is batmans greatest villian. But Prometheus isn't a bat villian he's a JLA villian.

if you look at the character as a whole I'd say he's more of a JLA villain than a bat only villain.

i know the contest is over, but i think the no prep time deal really takes this fight away from joker.
if joker just accidentally ran into batman, he's about a minute away from heading back to arkham.
his schemes are planned in detail to ensure the highest laugh factor.

so imo here's the list:

Joker (schemer, he's out)
Bane
Deathstroke
Lady Shiva
Azrael Batman (knightsend armor)
Riddler (schemer, out)
Ras al Ghul (grand schemer, but can hold his own)
Prometheus
Hush (schemer? dunno if he can handle himself in a fight so i'll leave him in)
KG Beast
Killer Croc (pre Hush version)
Two Face (schemer, out)
Poison Ivy
Scarecrow (schemer, but the toxins keep him in for a little bit)
Richard Dragon

out of those, two are going to high-tail it to their "home turf".
ivy's going to gotham's central park, and croc's heading for the nearest sewer.

croc may not be a problem for shiva or deathstroke (or prometheus, ra's, dragon, az etc, etc.).
but someone is going to have to go looking for ivy.
deathstroke is armed to the teeth, but even he doesn't have enough grenades and ammo to burn down the entire park.

if ivy doesn't get clipped running to the park, i honestly think she could take this for the simple fact that everyone else has to walk into the lion's den to get to her.
