I've been thinking about picking this up and Ultimate Nightmare. I just finished the Ultimates trades, they were great. Is Secret War in the Ultimate Universe? I kind of think it is but I'm not sure. (I haven't been reading it).

I've just been reading Ultimates so far and cannot wait until I see the Thor Vs Ultimates fight. Just seeing Manchine say "Vision" has perked my ears, must check it out. Are there any other must reads from the Ultimate universe?

I highly recommend the new Ultimates

Deathsythe, I like almost all of the Ultimate titles (Ultimates, Ultimate X-Men, Ultimate Spiderman, Ultimate FF, Ultimate Nightmare and Ultimate War.) Don't pick up Ultimate Marvel Team up, those stunk bad. But for starters, I would just read the first 12 issues of Ultimates.

which stories are the Vision in????? Pym hasnt even made Ultron yet, so who in the UMU made Vision???? In MU continuity Pym beget ultron beget vision????????

I like Ellis' writing, but this series dragged on for nothing. I do love how he described the coming of Galactus, because in reality that would be the most horrible thing ever. People committing suicide would not be uncommon. And it doesn't matter to me that the Vision's origin doesn't match regular, I mean, that's what the Ultimate version is for................BUT...............I really can't stand Millar. If they were to drop him I'd pick the Ultimate line back up. Maybe Ultimate Galactus will eat him up.

Luke B. thinks letting Ellis, who is a space-nut, handle first contact with the Kree and Galactus is a good idea.

Well, he has mentioned his plans for his Ultron Robot, and I thought there was a pannel showing him and some little robot in the most recent Ultimate series.

Ultimate Vision is a 'probe'/'herald' from a race that was devoured by Gah-lak-tus. He was supposed to go arround and warn planets of Gah-lak-tus' comming, but the Russians found him, and started taking him apart and using his pieces for experimental purposes.

He is currently in the hands of SHIELD and being rebuilt.

I believe Galactus's name will be Galactus, not Gah-lak-tus.

Gah-lak-tus was being spelled/said like that by the Vision because, as he even stated, his voice system was still being repaired as well as his other core components.

Right now he's only partially rebuilt. So you really dont know what he looks like right now.

I love almost all of the ultimate universe. I didn't like the last ultimate x-men arc, but aside from that, it's pretty much best comics out there. i also feel like ultimate daredevil and elktra are not that different their regular counterparts.

I didn't like the last arc in Ultimate X men either. I also don't like Cap and Jan being a couple in Ultimates. Wasp
is one of my Favorite characters in both 616 & Ultimates but I don't care for the way she is being written lately.

For the Wasp and Cap issues. I actually dont mind that. Wasp has never (to my knowledge) hit on 616 Cap. I thought they would go good togethor. Plus if you think about it. Who wouldnt want a date with Cap (616 or Ultimate)?

Vision's head looks like the red faced version. If fully built he looks as though he'll be very big (2 to 3 times the size of an average human).

my fave comic book character is the silver surfer, but seriously i wouldn't want him on the ultimate universe, unless he is exactly the same, but since that ain't happening...

If you are referring to the series currently being put out every four months, and being written by Bendis-

It is not an Ultimate Story arc. It is a 616.

Ultimate Nightmare was slow, but ended well. Ellis seems to have started with the same approach on Ultimate Secret.

And if you read Ultimate FF, you'll find Millar's writing to be the best of any Marvel writer not named Whedon.

Got to disagree, Marvel's best author right now is working on a little read book, with crummy art, that appears to be getting the can (at least, Marvel doesn't have anything beyond issue 9 listed for release).

That book is none other then the New Invaders, the writer, Allen Jacobsen

Ultimate FF is a "drive-by" on your wallet. Save your cash.

Does it really take five issues to travel to a region, meet up with the bad guy and throw down? What's the deal with 2-4 panels per page? That is milking the cow like the farmer in the dell. Jeez I got enough butter, now give me some story!

I'm being purposely vague to avoid spoiling it for anyone who has that much extra money.

I thought that Ultimate nightmare was supposed to have this big secret ending. Then the TPB comes out and it has "Ultimate Galactus" on the cover! This made me happy I didn't wait for the trade.

i follow all the ultimate titles with the exception of ultimate spider-man, i did grab a couple issues and thought the writing stunk. which is suprising because i do like other bendis books. i love POWERS, that is a great comic. maybe bendis streches himself to thin sometimes.

anyway i guess my point was that i like the writing for ultimate FF and millar's writing in other books as well.
