The only thing I hated was showing a new episode, so 2 old episodes, show a new episode, ... etc etc. Justice League Unlimited has been a lot of fun to watch. Flash is awsome, Wonder Women is hot(what can I say), Captain Atom was cool and so is Green Arrow.

The Canadian version of the "catoon Network" is Teletoon I believe. I'd say YTV is closer in Nicalodian (spelling?)

They've just started showing the 'Unlimited" episodes here in Australia and I can't wait to see them, but they're on at the most ridiculous time- 4:30 on Friday Afternoon!

I guess that's good for the school kids, but it's terrible for me since I'm still working. So I feel your pain Doomstriker.

At least they give me repeats of the last season of Justice League (sans Unlimited) every night at 8:00, which I get to see a lot more often.

Teletoon is a lame version of Cartoon Network (i.e. no adult cartoons to speak of. Lousy CanCon rules) and Nickelodeon is kind of like YTV in such that a paper cut is kind of like a shotgun wound

I saw a JLU DVD at Best Buy the other day. My question is, they haven't even finished releasing the first 2 seasons of JL and now they've started on the JLU! And the make things worse, there's only 3 episodes on the disc! Isn't that a complete waste of space? Why not just release the season as a whole? Same goes for the 2 seasons of JL, I hate those 2(4 part) episode discs.

I just downloaded "Taskforce X" and "Balance", and wow. just wow. I can't believe how amazing this show is. Seeing the three demons that teamed up with Neron to plague the JLA was awesome. I wasn't sure that they were hardcore enough to make it them, but when one was forced to give his name, I TOTALLY geeked out.

In the JLA comics, there was a story that involved Neron and the three pre-civilization/time/blah blah blah demons. This was the story that brought Zauriel into the JLA, and revamped the Key. It's also during the time where Superman was blue and composed of electromagnetic energy.

Yeah, I have that DVD. The only JL episode's I've seen availible on DVD are this one (which has Initiation, Hawk & Dove, and Kid stuff) and Starcrossed (the last season finale).

My kids love these. I've also seen Teen Titans come out on DVD recently and they have 6 episodes per DVD. Kinda felt gyped that they only put three episodes of JLU on one DVD. :ermm:

6 episodes on a DVD? Bah. The Batman and Superman box sets have 28 at LEAST.

Yeah, but these are not "Boxed sets" perse.

It's just a single DVD in a case. There are two different ones out now: Volume 1 & 2 for Teen Titans.

I think these are geared more toward kids than older comic/cartoon enthusiasts who want the full season in one big, fold out container. It was only $10, so I picked up the first volume.

My kids love tooning into Cartoon Network on Saturday nights to watch TT, Batman, and then JLU. I figured having access to 20 minute cartoons that they enjoy whenever I want was a good deal.

I cannot tell you how many times the kids are snuggled into thier pajamas toward the end of the night and not quite ready to head to bed to read books. So I pop in JLU and they usually want to watch Kid Stuff so we unwind for 20 minutes watching it.

I love this show. Just saw 'Double Date', and it makes me love the Question even more.

As a better explanation of YTV/Teletoon:

YTV is a channel that specializes in little kid, pre-teen, and teen programming. It gets most of the kids anime (Pokemon, Digimon, etc.) , action toons (Jackie Chan Adventures Teen Titans), and Nick shows (Spongebob) and plays them during weekday early-night and Saturday morning time slot. On Friday at late night it plays JLU, followed by Gundam Seed, InuYasha, Witch Hunter Robin and .Hack. It also has Smallville and used to have Buffy.

Teletoon is an animation channel, and usually gets the Saturday morning shows that YTV didn't get (like TMNT and MegasXLR). At night it plays Family Guy, Futurama and adult cartoons that have 5 episodes. However, I commend Teletoon for having the cajones back in the day to show un-edited Samurai Scroll(!) and HBO Spawn.

These last few episdoes have really stepped the bar up for this season of Unlimited. I still wish this was still an hour long program, as the Clash and Double Date could've been even better. Simone did a great job on Double Date. I can't wait the next episdoe which features the Question again. You know, I'd love for him to actually join the JLA in the mainstream DC. Let Bats have some time off or something. Very suprised at how well O'Connell did Capt. Marvel, spot on in my opion. Speaking of Captain's, I'd really love to see some more of Capt. Atom, again another character I'd love to see rejoin the JLA in mainstream DC. So far, I've got to rate this season 10/10. Great stuff here.

Well, for those of us WITHOUT the pleasure of YTV "Task Force X" aired tonight on Cartoon Network. I thought it was a pretty good episode, though the lack of the name Suicide Squad hurt it. I was also peeved that the villains were never in costume. But now the stages are being set for the big government/JLU showdown coming up. Here's hoping we see more of the Suicide Squad.

Question Authorirty... Wow. I mean I'm utterly speechless other then Wow after watching this episode. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it. Great, great, great episode. Kinda figured that Captian Atom would go back to the Air Force, but at least we're seeing more of the Captian. Just wow. Oh, and when did Luthor get that major power boost? Side effect of the Kryponite posioning maybe? But wow. If the rest of the season lives up to this, well, this will go down as the best cartoon I've ever watched.

I think that the JLU is linking up with the Public Enemies storyline from Superman/Batman. Luthor was getting stronger by injecting himself with liquid kryptonite and Bane's venom serum.

Supes and Huntress team up to find the Question who is held prisoner by Cadmus. As the trio escape Capt Atom is there to lay the smackdown. This is the most entertaining Show on air right now, cartoon or not.

I was talking about an episode that aired on cartoon network for the first time (and one you guys have been talking about for the past weeks) and wasn't giving away any major info, so I don't see a reason to put up a spoiler warning. Maybe people (including yourself) could put the spoiler warning up for the episodes that haven't aired for most of us (Question Authority for example)?

After seeing 'Question Authority', I like the direction they're going. They seem to be heavily based on Grant Morrison's story in his JLA run (with the inlcusion of Eiling and the Ultimen, who are replacements for Morrison's Ultra Marines.)
I can't wait to see what happens next...

Yeah, the fight will be great, as Capt. Atom is an equal to Superman in raw power. I'm wondering which JLU member is gonna bite the bullet here that Superman gets uber ticked off. Can't wait. And I bet Batman's secert is that he gave info on the JLU to Waller or Cadmus. Really, its the only logical thing that his secert could be. Of course, that could be a red herring, but I honestly doubt it.

Just downloaded Hunters Moon, Double Date, The Clash, and Question Authority. Question Authority was great and really got the ball rolling again on the Cadmus main plot stuff. I think (though I really hope it doesn't happen) that the Question is going to be the Leaguer to bite the bullet and make Superman declare war, in an ironic twist of fate. The name "Flashpoint" seems like a big red herring. The Question seemed like Rorschach in a few of those scenes, like where he's about to try to kill Luthor. Reminded me of Rorschach's confrontation with Ozymandias. Overall great episodes. But there's one question Double Date brings up: how are you supposed to kiss a guy with no mouth???

I think the humor added the the JLU has been great. From the meeting of "Bruce Wayne/Batman, Batman/Bruce Wayne. Or have you two met?" to the Question digging through everyone's garbage, the humor in the dialog is just great.

I wasn't a fan of the new theme when it first premiered here, but it actually is pretty good. Especially when they roll the opening in that first half of the first season. You get sneak peaks as what to expect in the episode.

Loved Double Date, can't wait for Crash tomorrow. (Or really Monday. Cable will NOT be fixed this weekend, grrrr.)

I am awestruck with how strong they finished out this arc. Absolutley, incredibly awestruck. They intertwined so many events from previous episodes. They finally got the Flash right after 4 freakin' years. The Reverse-Flash construct was awesome as well. Great ending, lots of set up for next season.

Argh just got the bad news that in the states we only get two more episodes THIS YEAR. The next two weeks build and then we have to wait till new years of 06. That is so wrong it means I probably wont see the conclusion of thiss eries till 2008 as i will be off in the P.C. by then. Why must they do this. Its alright if they have a large gap between seasons but they should never do them midseason like this

Has there been any change in WB's "marketing" regarding the lack of Justice League season boxed sets? Not all of us have easy access to Cartoon Network and it annoys me to no end that I've missed out on most of the series (I also refuse to buy the few paltry episodes they have out on disc - though doing so would probably speed up the release of boxed seasons as Murphy's Law kicks into gear :) ).

Just saw "most of" Epilogue. Nice tie in to the Batman Beyond series. Too bad YTV got a screwy feed. The entire opening to the episode was cut out and an infomercial for excerise equipment started playing. The actual episode started where the opening theme would have ended.

So Waller and Batman become friends. Never saw that one coming. :P I liked how the adult Terry looks like he was modelled after the 70's Bruce Wayne comic image.

man... the adult Terry McGinnis is HOT. Its interesting though, how they make the whole season, if not the whole series, about Batman. I loved the lineup of the JLA that took on the Royal Flush Gang (what's up with M.O.D.O.K., and the total "Queen"? heh). I've always loved Dr. Light, and actually kind of expected the lineup to mirror the Giffen era JLA. Speaking of, how come we never got any Blue Beetle action???

Either way, it was a nice wrap up for the season, just in case we don't get any more after this. It ended in just the right way to go either way.

Well, the reason why Blue Beetle wasn't in this season (and possibliy next season, which has been green lighted and all) was because of some legal dispute or some such about BB appearing on TV and whatnot since some other company (or estate or something) owns those rights, if I recall. Hopefully that'll all get fixed, as I'd love a Blue and Gold episode. Hopefully a two parter, if not their own series. Which would own all.

I really enjoyed Batman Beyond. Maybe after JLU is all done they will make a JLA Beyond type of deal. Including Static Shock and the Zen Green Lantern. That would be sweat!

I really like what they did with Flash in Flashpoint. Have him be one of the less powerful characters throughout the show and as a comedy relief, not showing his full potential, then just when the Justice League needs a miracle they bust him out at his full power. Plus if he had always been pulling stunts like that Brainiac/Luthor would've taken him more seriously and not let their guards down. Anyways, amazing episode, amazing show, and amazing season. Here's hoping they make it even better for the next one (maybe dropping some of the big 7 for guys like Green Arrow, Canary, new Green Lantern, etc.).

Did you ever watch the precursor to Justice League, the Superman Cartoon? there was an episode called "In Brightest Day" about Kyle Rayner. In it, they had a battle on an air force base, and one of the planes had the pilots name below the cockpit like they sometimes do. The name was Col. Hal Jordan.

There was also a rather Guy Gardner looking thug in the beginning of the episode, and a black astronaut who looked alot like John Stewart. :p

I live in the States but was lucky enough to get Question Authority, Flashpoint, Panic in the sky and Divided we fall (thank you bittorrent). Those episodes just blew my mind. So this past weekend I hosted a JLU Theatre night and I got 10 of my friends together and we watched them all in order, as well as epilogue and Clash. man I gotta tell ya, I dont know how they can top themselves for next season. Those episodes were awesome.

I loved it almost as much as when he kicked Justice Lord Superman's ###. He just sidestepped the big guy a few times, and then all of a sudden....BYE BYE!!!!
But yeah, seeing Flash suddenly go all out like that was just like "HOLY ####!"

Though the thing with Shayera pulling him through a hole in space-time that just....appears...for some reason.....was pretty lame. For giving Flash such a backseat comic relief part in the show, I was glad to see him get some....ahem....justice.

While I enjoyed watching all those heroes fight the Ultimen and Flash's line about the Batmobile cracked me up, the episode begs the question "What the ####?!" How long has Brainiac been living inside Luthor? How did he get inside Luthor? Why is he doing all this?

I now consider the episode "Divided we fall" - one of the best animated episodes ever!!

The perspective action shots has finally outdone all from any previous cartoon series. The synopsis you see on the Internet is totally way off from what was shown - which is quite bizarre....

The action sequences are awesome!! - in fact, no dialogue in the first few minutes!

The writing on that one is excellent - the whole, inevitability of future events, was well handled.

The last episode "Epilogue" --- is really more like Batman than JLU. Makes you wonder why they did this episode... the last episode of both seasons of the JLU featured Terry (future bats)... probably just tying it in with the Batman Beyond episode "The Call"? or they just love him so much... :)

I think the title "Epilogue" was a clue that it was just a way of them putting a punctuation mark on Batman Beyond, that they didn't get to do in the BB series itself. And that's nice, its not very often that a show, esp. a cartoon gets to go out on its own terms, with a nice ending.

What I'd like to see next season is two rival groups, the JLA and the JSA. The JSA would be led by Capt. Marvel, Hawkgirl, Dr. Fate, and Amazo and would include your typical JSA roster that's been in JLU: Atom Smasher, Black Canary, Stargirl, etc. Plus they could have the clone Supergirl (aka Powergirl) join. I'd think with your avatar you'd be totally in favor of that Qwardian. :)

In the end of the episode "Divided we Fall". they singled out Superman [.."and the Justice League needs you Superman" - Green Arrow]... perhaps the era where Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Fire and Ice, etc were members...? (during the Doomsday story arc)

If they're going to do a "Beyond" treatment to JLU, I would hope that its in line with Kingdom Come... but then, that wouldn't be too sellable to kids...

Green Arrow did say he had the "watching" bit covered... so getting the JSA set up shouldn't be too far off... (since most of them were already featured anyway)..


Can't wait for the next season! If the previous releases are any indication.... it will be another looooonnggg wait.... :(

I just noticed the the U-Men on Justice league Unlimited cartoon are pretty much the Mutli- Cultural Superfriends from the cartoon. Apache Cheif, The Wonder Twins, Black Vulcan, Samuria- all being led by Power Girl the clone of Supergirl.This version of the team was pretty neat and you hav eto dig all the Kirbyesque costumes. I wonder if they might bring this team into the mainstream DCU. I mean since they brought Back GL Hal Jordan and alot of other old school characters, why not ride the nostalgia train and use them, in this somewhat updated format. It would be a strong team. At least at Outsiders level. Maybe an altered visions Justice League.

But they'd have to include El Dorado. Gotta have a magic man.

He explains "I'm going as fast as I can!", though the statement isn't directed at anyone in the car. Eventually, the armored car crashes. Lex gets out, but is quickly cornered by the police. A mysterious hand grabs Lex and pulls him through a portal. Cut to Lex and The Key on a hoverbike crossing a swamp. They stop, and Lex talks to a figure on the shore, Gorillan Grodd. The ape explains his proposition, but Lex doesn't buy it. Grodd presses a button on a remote and from the swamp waters rises a dome. A door opens to reveal many villains who have opposed the Justice League. That's right, the Legion of Doom will be in JLU Season 2 and it will kick total ###!!!

Well, everyone, the season's over (in the US) and it was amazing. I think back now to when we all complained that it was going to 30 minute episodes, and how we were all convinced it would be the end of Justice League on TV. Boy, did we get that one wrong.

I do hope that they maintain the same standards in the upcoming seasons, like tying together old storylines into something truly great. It would be a shame for it to go downhill after this. But if it does, well, we finally got a great JL series on TV, and it sets a pretty high standard for all comic book shows to follow.

I, for one, can't wait for the new episodes to see for myself what happens...

Well, not only the old bat-theme, but to mix it with the hard-edge guitar riff, like the Batman Beyond theme, was just awesome.

If this is the end of this version of Warner Brothers animation for Batman/JLU/Batman Beyond, what an incredible final round. Truly a great 30 minutes of television, and to think, very little in the way of a slug fest superhero stuff.

The Epilouge would have been a great detente for JLU but with a new season confirmed I still find it quite poignant and this episode made me so want the Royal Flush Gang in clix form although not this version. Creative must have fell asleep I mean Modok and Samurai Jack hoo boy at least they didnt call him that. I love though how they touched back on so many old plot lines from Ace and Phantasm and I hope they continue this next season and maybe even resolve some old batman storylines that dissapeared

I dont see that happening as they ar enot going to do JLU without having both their Marquee characters on it at least in the majority of episodes. If they got rid of Kevin they would just have to replace him with someone else

They went without Batman for a LOT of episodes this last season, and it still kicked ###. They can survive without him, so long as they can rely on him for the big stuff.

Cadmus made her. Prof. Emil Hamilton took a DNA sample from Supergirl and cloned her. Then he aged the clone to her physical prime and taught her how to fight. Part of her actually wants to "protect the world" from the Justice League, but most of her just wants to kill Supergirl and prove that the clone is better then the original.

"Power Girl" has not even been called Power Girl yet. She is at the moment, just a clone of Super Girl. But because of her costume, most people tend to think of her as a nod to Power Girl.

Don't get too hung up on the main DC universe when it comes to the JLU-cartoon-universe. There are a lot of differences.

I just read the New Supergirl #1 and it seems like they are trying to adress the Supergirl/Powergirl issue. So far all we know is that they are both supposed to be Kal-els cousins from Krypton. Stargirl made a comment on how they looked alike except that Powergirl was buffed and older and that they might be sisters, but when Kara tried to have a one on one talk with Karen, PG flipped out. They had some dumb reason for it that doenst really make sense, but it comes down to they are like the same person and when they get close to each other their powers kinda foof each others and overload the other. They are supposed to shed more on the relationship later. But it seems liek the comic is trying to pick up on some of the cartoons idea's.

The original idea was for "A Better World" was to have the Crime Syndicate instead of the Justice Lords. They decided to change it because they wanted to see a League vs. League fight. You guys think it was a good idea?

Yeah, i think it was a good thing because the Crime Syndicate4 was jsut evil for no reaql reason. We saw how the Justice Lords used to be and how one thing make them turn out the way they did. - So Lex has the big bad "B" on the brain. I loved the fact that I got to see a cartoon with the Key and with Dr. Polaris. Wally and Bea.... To funny. Blackhawk island, Grodd ruling the roost, and more villians than you can shake a stick at. I give it a 8 outta 10!



Shadow of the Hawk
- Man Shadow Thief is a BAD BAD MAN! The fight with the Extremists at the beginning was great. Especially dug how Lord Havok and Dreamslayer were beat. Vixen, John Stewart, Hawkgirl, and Carter Hall in a love square? Not enough of Hawkman kicking ### for my taste, but I did like the JLU version of his origin. I wasn't a huge fan of how he was sort of portrayed like a stalker, BUT the speech at the end was great...
"...I've waited thousands of years, I can wait a bit longer..."
Since Hawkman is my favorite character I'm marking out....10 outta 10...

Can't wait for the rest of the season...Warlord...Deadman...etc.

JLU is off to a great start. I thought Lex was talking to Grodd in the beginning, but it's good old Brainy, still subtly influencing the bald billionaires actions. The Extremist fight was cool and Shadow Thief proved himself to be a bad mutha ####ah. Hawkman, however, didn't beat up enough robot mummy ###. Now I have to look forward to a "New" Supergirl, Deadman and a visit from the Legion of Super-Heroes. Freakin CB, Saturn Girl and Livewire time travelling to the Hall of Justice will be a great sight.

This is the best super-hero show, EVER.

I enjoyed both episodes. I missed part of the first one but it was good what I saw.
Was that Speed Saunders? Nice to see mention of Blackhawks. Loved the Legion of Doom hq.

We finally get Hawkman! As confusing as his continuity in the comics is I think they
did an ok job intertwining all of them into the show's version. Nice to see a little of
the Kendra character thrown in for good measure.

The show's opening and closing is a big tease this season with lots of cool tidbits of
characters we might get to see. Please don't ask. I can't really remember who but
I was excited! lol

Anyone got a link for the Legion and Deadman episodes mentioned earlier?

Wish they'd bring this series out on DVD and not just certain episodes.

I absolutely LOVE the shades of what's going on in mainstream comics.

It seems hardly a coincdence that there is a parallel society to "protect" themselves from heroes and such.

I was really kinda happy to see Batman follow the Hawks to Egypt. It actually reminds me a lot of the Elseworlds tale "Batman: Book of the Dead". Had they tied in Nekhrun I would have fainted.

She was actually a member of the JLI; Justice League International. I think she's pictured on the DC poor teamwork card; she's in green with green hair.

The Brazilian joke is that Hawkgirl is talking about why Flash shouldn't bother and she pauses dramatically while we see Fire being quite chatty with another girl team member.

Then she ends it with Brazilian (a harmless trait that doesn't affect Flash), meaning Flash got all worked up thinking 'lesbian' for nothing.

See I think the joke is that Hawkgirl was trying to think up a "PC" way of saying lesbian (though Fire may actually be Brasilian - but see my above remark). The Brazilians have a carnival every year in which men dress as women and vice versa. Its a very open culture sexually.

But it may be a little of both.

Two pretty cool episodes. Two great Superman enemies made an appearance, Grodd is setting up something big and the Legion of Doom looks rocking. This is shaping up to be a great season.

Fire started out with a Group called the Global Guardians who debuted in the Superfreinds comic. She joined the with Ice Maiden another GG member. She was killed and a new characrter, Ice, came on the team. It was batted around that those 2 might have hooked up but we never saw anything. Ice did tell Obsidian that she was queer. Some people say that Ice was just flirting with Fire to help her cope with Ice Maidens death. :rolleyes: THe Brazillian crack was kinda like what they did on the tlevision show Ellen before she came out.

I have to admit that scene brought back memories and just made me laugh out loud. :laugh:

I also loved the scene where the cop jokingly threatens he has orders to shoot at her and makes the finger gun with the bubble gum "pop" and she just pulls up her sleeve and "klinks" on her bracelets with the facial expression of "go ahead and try." ;)

It's the little stuff that makes this show great. :)
