View Full Version : A question to comic book readers
Though I play heroclix, I don't read comics. And there's been this one question that's been bothering me. How do comics deal with the issue of ageing? For example, Peter Parker/Spider-man, to me, was always supposed to be in his late teens, early twenties. But comic book lines go on for years. How do they address this issue? Do they just constantly restart the storyline from the beginning, resetting their age? Or is there something else I'm missing?

Time in comic progresses VERY slowly. One year to us might be a couple of weeks to the characters in a comic.
By and large, they ignore it. Popular characters don't age, and those who are off-screen do. Robin to Nightwing has put on a lot of years while Batman has gone nowhere. Somehow, Julie Power is turning up in Runaways as a MINIMUM 18 year-old girl when she ought to be 13 at best judging by how old Franklin Richards is.
It's senseless. Just smile and nod.
Have a Great Day,
