Who and WHY? All fights take place in Metropolis. No prep, standard equipment. Winner gets a prize. Start on opposite ends of the city. They only know who they're fighting and prior knowledge of their opponent is up to them. And no Superman either.

In recent comics written by Loeb and Austin they have made him out to be overated...superman has singlehandedly taken out his lackeys and parademons plus darkseid all at once.......which is unfortunate since this used to be a guy that even the devil prayed to in the DCU.

The Legion is one of the most powerful superteams out there, collectively. They managed to beat supercharged future-Darksied Pre-Crisis, and normal Darksied post-Crisis.


As he should be when well-written, no-one on the list should be able to get even reasonably close to beating him, save Dr. Fate, and of course it's Orion's destiny. No GL can, J'onn and Wally and Diane can't, Cyborg Superman can't, etc. etc..

Thanos, well Thanos is a copy from him in the Marvel Universe, and is the more cosmic villians character.

Galactus: Darkseid owns a planet, Galactus eat planets. See the Byrne comic.

Darkseid, when well written should be able to actually wipe out everyone. If the writers will go back and check their notes, the Omega Force is listed as "A Cosmic power that Darkseid controls", the Omega Beams being "A pair of beams shot from Darkseid's eyes with no known limitations that can disintigrate any form of biological matter"

The one person...er..team, on your list above I would give a consistant defeat of Darkseid to is the LSH, and again because they are an entire TEAM, not simply Wonder Woman or Flash. Darkseid can defeat any LSH member one on one (Id say) but surely not the entire LSH team.

The Legion could take one or two, and the Martian Manhunter MIGHT pull one out, but not likely.

Btw, what's considered to be the weakest Legion team?


The classic Pre-Crisis one had multiple kryptonians/kryptonian equivelents. The one that Superboy signed up with for awhile had Quantum Kid as well as several other powerful people (with some who were less powerful before, like Shrinking Violet, a lot stronger). The new one is only a bit less powerful than them, and we only have the initial rosters.

With the homing effect of Darksied's eyebeams, I believe that baring Wally breaking into 'joining with the speedforce' levels, he can.

I have seen the Beams bounce off Superman
without doing any real harm to the Big Blue Boyscout.


And then Sups beats him till
Darkseid asks for mercy.

Note, not all of Darksied's beams are the Omega effect by a long shot. He also has simple heat and force beams as well as a variety of other effects that are still really powerful, but aren't the Omega effect.
