Clix vs. Comix TOC! 31-35pts. Round 1 Match 9: CONTROLLER VS. ULTIMATE ELECTRO

Well, match 7 had a lot of votes, but Match 8 went right back down to the statis quo. So far, it looks like Storm is going to round 2.

I was playing Heroclix the other day, and building my team, I had 103 points left. I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.

CONTROLLER
Unstable scientist Basil Sandhurst was driven further into insanity when an accidental explosion scarred his face and paralyzed his body. From his automated lab, the Controller created "slave discs" which he used to turn a victim's "cerebral energy" into power for his exo-skeleton, which gives him super- human strength. The more people he controls, the greater his strength. His schemes have always met defeat at the hands of Iron Man.

ELECTRO (Ultimate)
Originally a henchman of the Kingpin, Max Dillon was part of Justin Hammer's human experiments project. He gained electrostatic powers that enable him to generate deadly electrical storms, override any electrically powered device and manipulate it mentally as well a "fly" on a storm of pure electricity. He was defeated by Spider-Man and hospitalized. He later joined Norman Osbourne's attempt to capture the President but was stopped by Spidey and the Ultimates.

No offense, but is it really in good taste to be using Vatican City as a battleground considering the current news? I usually keep a sense of humour about such things, but just this once I think I'll ask if there's any way to switch battlegrounds. :)

You know, I didn't even tjhink about that. I'm not Catholic, so it didn't really cross my mind. To all those who were offened, my appologies. Under these circumstances, I am willing to swith the terrain just this once.

NEW TERRAIN:
The Park by St-Dumas
(inspired by Perez Park from City of Heroes)
There is a maze of trees. Each path goes either out of the forest or in deeper. The canopy above is so thick you can walk on it. Unfortunately, the contestants can't fly or jump through it. There is one area in the center that doesn't have the canopy over it. This area

also has a small pond with some carp swimming in it. Finally, there are a few people trafficking drugs in small groups around the park. Each is armed with a handgun.

This is the rest of the terrain, it was cut off for some reason.

Controller. There are a bunch of people here to take over and get strong from.

I vote for: Electro. Since there are a vast numerous of Trees at the park and Electro can weild his lightning bolts at trees - causing them to explode their bark/branch/even shattered....the tree bark flying towards people, including Controller, can shred and cut through...Controller would have hard time trying to control him either from a distance or close. Electro wins.

Oh, no. I wasn't offended and hope I didn't come across that way (it wasn't offensive - I mean, if you'd done it on purpose or as a joke, that would be different, but I know nothing was meant by it). It just felt a little...off...was all. :) Hope I didn't seem antagonistic or anything.

Speaking of antagonists, I think I'm going to give this one to the Controller. Once he starts getting pumped up - and the park gives him ample targets for his discs - he's capable of giving Iron Man a tussle. Electro's power shouldn't faze Controller too much, whereas Ultimate Electro is going to have problems with being dunked in that pond (remember he's been shorted by water).

the Vatican City will remain a terrain, but I will try to avaid using it for the next few matches, out of respect.

As for the fight, Electro's HC representation is misleading, however, with a name like "Electro", I dought the Controller will be confused. I think the strenght od Controller will pull him through, not to mention the help he is going to get from the drug dealers (and it doesn't matter if they want to help or not). My vote...
