View Full Version : Which Characters, From Marvel & DC, Are More Powerful Than Galactus?

DTM

Pretty simple thread really. From both DC and Marvel, all characters being considered at Full Strength, at the Top of their Potential, which of the Mightiest of the Mighty in the Multiverse are More Powerful than Galactus, The Devourer Of Worlds?

Pick your characters (ONE CHARACTER PER HCRMEMBER, PLEASE), and feel free to debate with other members (as this is a discussion board after all) on ones you maybe disagree with, and defend your picks and opinions from them in return, if you can. :)

(ONE CHARACTER PER HCRMEMBER, PLEASE)

So well stick with your first choice only, The Spectre.

And Electric Superman took on Asmodel, so I dont think he would be too much trouble for Galactus.

i'm curious....
how would the endless fare against galactus?

dream
death
despair
destiny
desire
delirium
destruction

i don't know the extent of their powers, but i'm sure someone here does.

You did.

As for me: Ion.

I thought Asmodel was the main villain in the crossover Days of Judgement.....Didnt it take Hal Jordan Spectre to beat him?

God (I win) and yes, he is in DC all the time.

Wouldn't that be "The Source", then?

It's really hard to compare. Their power isn't exactly too great in some ways, but it is massive in their domain, plus they don't, y'know, end.

Although, to go on specifics-
Delirium would 'beat' galactus due to him knowing the delirium from eating planets with intelligent life, which messes with his mind. Delirium would be able to do a ton with that.

Desire would likewise have his desire for planets over him.

And so on. It's more funky than anything else.

Asmodel? The only thing I can remember him from was the earily Morrison JLA storyline where Zauriel showed up, and he wasn't that tough there.

Ragnarok/Avengers Dissassembled Thor

He obliterated beings above Galactus like it was nothing. Even Surtur, the being meant to end all that is knew he had no power to compare to Thor.

It's spelled "Imperiex." Personally, I don't think he's more powerful. Perhaps as powerful, or comparable.

The Source IIRC is all of Creation. The Presence is DC's version of God.

Nope. Byrne defined "The Source" as "all of creation" and God created all so... :)

That's kinda weird. You know, source = where something comes from, and all.

Hmm... I wonder if the Source includes the Presence...

He got a a helping hand of power during the day of Judgment series. He got knocked right back down at the end as readers well know. I'm actualy going to have to read it again now

Oh god, Newfoo, the abomination that made me believe Teen Titans has jumped the shark.

I'm not sold on King Hype. He couldn't stop the asteroid, and as the Abraxas saga told us, alternate Galacti are weaker than the 616 version.

I wouldn't say so. If he did indeed take out Galactus, it probably involved planning and tricking a lot of others into dying for him.

He's basically very high-end SHW in power.

The Ion/Pre-retcon Parralax, since they're functionally the same (uber-Green Lantern)

Spectre, Imperiex and Anti-Monitor aren't characters, they're plot devices.

Paradox Factor
04/04/2005, 05:05
Put me down for the only character to scare the snot out of Galactus; The Hunger. A nigh unstopable eater of realities, it took both Thanos and the big G to stop him and Galactus was severily wounded in the process.

insight
04/04/2005, 05:20
If its true that Galactus requires worlds to eat to sustain power, then it would also be true that anyone who could destroy all planets would be the bane of Galactus.

I'm not sure who that would be, but that would be a sure fire answer I think.

The Beyonder had the ability to end everything with a thought if I recall correctly. I assume that would trump Galactus. (and it is why I hated the Beyonder lol)

04/04/2005, 05:21
If the Beyonder fails i vote Batman

Krona.

*The* uber-Guardian who obtained incredible power after dying.

Surprised he hasn't been mentioned, since he basically one-hit Galactus in JLA/Avengers.
