Well, it looks like an indy character might make it to round 2 after all. Kabuki has a firm lead over Riddler.

I was playing Heroclix the other day, and building my team, I had 103 points left. I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.

Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.

SKULLBUSTER (III)
There have been three Reavers to go by the name Skullbuster. The first was part of a group of thieves who lived in the Australian outback. He was killed in a battle against Freedom Force. The second was Cylla Markham who gained her cybernetic implants after crashing a plane transporting the X-Men. She was killed by the vampiric Bloodscream. Little is known about the newest Skullbuster apart from her super-human strength, Molybdenum steel claws and energy draining siphons.

HAWKMAN
Carter Hall has lived a hundred life times, all of them as the champion of the Thangarian Hawk God. Originally Prince Khufu of Egypt, Carter and his lover, Chay-Ara, discovered an alien ship, which imprinted them with the memories of the ancient Thangarians. The two lovers were murdered but were reborn again and again, destined to meet and fall in love. In the 40's Carter first adopted the guise of Hawkman, fashioning flying wings out of Nth metal and using ancient weapons in his battle against crime. He fought alongside both the JSA and the JLA against foes like Solomon Grundy and the Key. It was during "Zero Hour" that Carter was banished to another dimension by Extant and died. He has recently resurrected and re-joined the new JSA.

Tough call. In the comics, Skullbuster was quite durable and her gun was big. Hawkman is her superior in close combat fighting ability and he can fly.

I'm going to see other people's responses.

Fairly clear terrain.
There isn''t going to be any sneaking into hand to hand.

With a ghost town as the setting, there is some amount of cover. Carter is the superior combatant here, and is capable of using ranged or thrown weapons if the need arises.
He's one of the best armed combatants in the DCU, and his mace has proven capable of damaging people fairly high up on the invulnerability scale.
He's also extremely durable, and a superior tactician.

After he's slugged it out with Superman and Black Adam, as well as any number of DC baddies, I've got to give this to Hawkman, easily. In those other cases he needed one of his artifacts, which he sometimes, but not always has on him, and GL's aid, but he's still been able to hold his own through use of his skill.

Easy choice.

Hmmm...I keep thinking that no matter what if the person has super strength, Hawkman still can win the battle, due to his thousand year experience and excel in hand combat. He carries a big F*cking mean mace and he just recently gains a healing factor, thanks to his nth metal factoring in his body. Hawkman can stand up to anyone, including Superman and Captain Marvel. So my vote, obviously, goes to: Hawkman.

So you guys are saying that he even if he gets hit by fire
from that gatling gun, he'll shrug it off to win?

I suppose Nth metal wins over Molybdenum.

My vote: Hawkman.

Carter's been dodging gunfire of all type for years. It's going to be hard to nail him even with the gatling fire. Once he closes in his raw strength and brutality are going to make Skullbuster busted. The man's one-punched "elephant people" and swung his mace through metal - SB's organics are in big trouble here.

Vote: Hawkman

I vote for Hawkman.

If this is the Old West, as opposed to a desert the terrain isn't really that open. There's a town, and Hawkman can choose to get to it and utilize the cover it provides as he flys and has enhanced vision. From there I think Carter's tactical mind can net him a win.

I agre that Hawkman is capable of using the limited cover to win. My vote...
HAWKMAN

I vote Hawkman as well. Skullbuster's only advantage is raw firepower, but that won't hold up against Hawkman's greater experience and flight advantage.
