I was playing Heroclix the other day, and building my team, I had 103 points left. I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.

Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.
With out further delay…

Domino
fig from MM, 35pts.

DOMINO
Neena Thurman is called Domino due to her uncanny ability to "have things fall into place for her." Whether this is a mutant power is unknown. She first met Cable as a member of the Six Pack. Later, she joined Cable's X-Force, only to be revealed as the shape shifter Copycat. The real Domino was rescued by the team from the terrorist Tolliver and joined the mutant team in earnest. She fought alongside the group and eventually became the team leader. After being captured and tortured during Operation: Zero Tolerance, Domino returned to the life of a solitary mercenary; though she will occasionally return to aid the X-men and her former teammates from the original X-Force.

CHANGELING (aka. BEAST BOY)
As a boy, Garfield Logan contracted the rare disease, Sakutia. His scientist parents used their experimental machine to cure him but his skin turned green and he could now transform into any animal. When his parents died in an accident, Gar was eventually adopted by the Doom Patrol's Elasti-Girl and Mento. He had several adventures as Beast Boy, but when the Doom Patrol is killed, Gar joins the Teen Titans as Changeling. After fighting alongside his teammates Robin and Kid Flash, Gar left the team to pursue an acting career and the on-again, off-again role as leader of the Teen Titans West.

Domino is a master of multiple fighting skills, has guns coming out the wazoo and can manipulate reality in her favor. Ironically enough, none of this will help her. Changeling will trip over a wire and get a poison dart in his face.

My vote: Domino.

and Domino's luck will probably help her avoid those traps...

Domino's luck and combat prowess allow her to take down mutants and other metahumans heaps more powerful than her. In age of apocalypse she single handedly took down X-Man.

Beast Boy's experience fighting supremely skilled gun-toting superhuman assassins is huge. He has for example fought a certain fan-favourite by the name of Deathstroke the Terminator more than a few times. Domino's luck abilities are nice but not enough to sway things in her favour against a master shape-changer...especially in an environment where the ability to become, say, a scarab beetle crawling through cracks in the stone, is a huge advantage.

Vote: Changeling

Since the environment specifically mention booby traps, I'd give this one to Domino based on that alone. Her power will cause him trip something that he probably would have easily avoided any other time, and get taken out of the fight.
In a different environment, I'd give Garfield a better chance, but he's toast in this one.

I vote for Domino

She is a more skilled combatant than he is and her powers are better than his.

I agree with de4dp00l, in any other terrain, BB would take it, but the luke factor here is too great. My vote...
DOMINO

I will vote for Beast Boy. Beast Boy will be able to change into anything. He will be able to move freely as a beetle, and Domino won't know what hits her when Beast Boy attacks.

Domino is also still human, so one strong attack from Beast Boy will allow him the victory.
