View Full Version : TV Cartoon Battles: Mixed Teams TOC: Round 1, Match 8

DTM
04/14/2005, 13:52
And yet another Very Close match up (our second neck and neck of this TOC), but in the end, thus far, Team Talpa is in the lead over Team Legato. Time is running out though, for anyone that wishes to vote on any of this first battles, a single day may be all youll have to do so.

With pretty much the same rules as with all of my TOCs, except this time:

The terrain has been enlarged to 40 miles wide, as always, protected by a force field of the strongest power to prevent characters from escaping or flying their foes to the sun.

Team will now have a 10 minute "Planning Stage" where each team can talk and prep amongst themsevles against the opposing team. Characters may NOT leave their immediate area during this time and no powers, spells, etc. can be used. This is a planning, sharing information stage only.

Now without further adieu, allow me to present your next battle in a BRAND NEW (aka: OLD, OLD, OLD) type of Tournament Of Champions:

TEAM DEVASTATOR - Ookla (Thundarr The Barbarian), Norman (Mighty Max), Cy-Kill (Challenge Of The Go-Bots), Devastator (Transformers)

VS.

TEAM LORD HAZANKO - Buttons McBoomboom (C.O.P.S.), Quicksilver (Silverhawks), Thundra (Aladdin), Lord Hazanko (Outlaw Star)

As always, same rules apply, no time to prepare, POOFed from where ever they were, with only what they routinely carry on them AND/OR routinely used in their shows, to fight in a Large area til one stands and one falls. YOU decide Who.

Randomly Chosen Area:

Primevil Wastes - Large, flat, rocky ground bisected by imposing cliffs. A central volcano can be seen from even the farthest parts of the arena. Channels of lava crisscross the open ground, ensuring that an uncertain step could lead to a very fiery death. (Inspired by: He-Man, Thundarr, etc)

Thanks all, and enjoy.

And REMEMBER, if youre not sure who someone is here, ASK. Theres PLENTY of people here who can tell you most anything youd like to know. Thanks again.

ALSO, please do your best to respect everyones votes, reasonings and opinions here. If you believe your character should win, but doesnt in the end, dont hold grudges against the character that beat yours, or call the votes that allowed this to happen "fanboy" arguments or plain and simply wrong. We all have our own way of thinking and voting here, with each one of our thoughts and ideas as valid as your own. Lets do what we can, even in the heat of an argument, to respect that. Thanks.

Well, if they did the LW vs. LW, MW vs. MW ect. match ups, I only see team Devestator winning the HW match. But the thing about Thundra is, why send her to the front lines. She will be much more effective from the back. Changing the weather to help her team. When facing 2 robots, a thunderstorm could be very effective. Plus, Thundra can make herself very hard to find, (sitting up on a cloud somewhere.) Besides that, the rest of team Hazanko will go in for the KO's. My vote...
TEAM LORD HAZANKO

I think I'm going to vote for Team Hazanko as well.

The trick with this team is that it's meshes well together. Thundra can carry her whole team around if she wants on a cloud. From there Hazanko can act as just defense, for everyone, Thundra can act as just offense, Quicksilver and Buttons can trouble shoot. Can Devestator overpower Hazanko singly, who knows? Can he and Cy-kill do it when both the SHW and the HW get the full defense of not only a SHW, but a SHW who's doing nothing but defense while both being attacked by Thundra, and picked at by Quicksilver? Probably not. It doesn't hurt that Devestator is dumb either, or that his MW and LW can't attack anyone on Hazanko's team.

I agree. The HW and SHW make team Hazanko slightly edge out their opponents, although i wouldn't underestimate the synergy of Cy-Kill and Devastator.
Vote: Team Hazanko

Cy-Kill and Devastator are a lethal combination. Dev. has a range of 6 miles. PLus, I am sure they have tracking. Not sure if a simple lightning storm is going to take them down (Cy-Kill and Devastator).

On the other hand, Hazanko's team is just overall, a better team. Quicksilver will take care of Norman and Ookla no problem (if worse comes to worse, Buttons can do it) and while both the robots can fly, how much can Hazanko's magic keep them safe. Does team Hazanko have the firepower to take down the two giant robots?

Thats my question...what can Hazanko and his team do to the robotos (besides lightning...not really seeing these two robots go down from lightning bolts)?

I think I want to hear the answer to this too.

From Hazanko's Bio

Hazanko disdains the more warrior like aspects of the Tau prefering to focus on telekinetic might (on a scale that probably allows him to significantly damage capital scale ships)

After all, what is a giant robot if not a modified ship. :p

Team Hazanko.

This is another synergistic team, not quite as horrendous as Team Wiseman, but still nice. Thundra provides a perfect balance of offence and defence to her team, while Buttons is one of the nastiest LW in a massed fight. Quicksilver is a brilliant first strike weapon, whilst Lord Hazanko, from what I understand, is a TK lord. He can rip Devestator into his component units, then turn his attention to the other opponents.

You really think Hazanko can just rip apart the two GIANT and POWERFUL robots before they reach the cloud and blow them all up?? Just like that? Is Hazanko a Magneto wannabe?

These are serious questions, BTW....

No, but I think he can handle one of them. I think that Lord H will take out Devistator, and Quicksilver and Buttons will handle their counterparts. By the time this happens, Cy-kill is upon them, and could probably take out the QS and Buttons, but he won't beat Hazanko defence.

What defense does Hazanko have to protect himself from the giant, killing robotos?

TK forcefields, which is probably insufficient, and being really, really fast and good at dodging (possibly using TK to move himself around, he was voiding the attacks of a cyborg that moved so fast he left afterimages), which is is more useful.

Team Lord Hazanko - 4 votes

Hmmmm, seems Im jumped the gun a bit earlier in wanting to start Match 9 today, when this match is still fairly new and somewhat close.

Please DISREGARD my Next Vote Wins posts on the previous 2 Second Quarter matches, as this quarter will go the extra day anyway.

Though we have 2 TIEs, and what could be a pretty close, highly debated match up here, so lets see what we can do about rectifying them all before tomorrow.

All votes for Matches 5 thru 8 COUNT until tomorrow, at which time hopefully well have no more TIEs. :)

Enjoy all.

Is Hazanko powerful enough to tear apart the two robots before they get close enough (i.e. Devastor's range is 6 miles) to blow him to kingdom come? Because if not, then Hazanko and company will not win this match more than 50% of the time. I don't think his forcefield will hold up against the battering, and if he leaves to tk himself around, his team is gonna get wiped out before you can say "Autobots transform". We have two giant robot killing machines...their range is impressive. Still no vote cause I don't know Hazanko and want to know more before I cast my vote.

Probably not.

My vote's on Devestator. Cybertronian metal is tough, and he does have a lot of firepower. Althought I could see it going the other way too.
