Well, Storm's knowlege of Mystique's powers gave her a leg up and enough to take the shapeshifter out.

I was playing Heroclix the other day, and building my team, I had 103 points left. I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.

Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.
With out further delay…

Lady Shiva
fig from CJ, 33pts.
vs.
Kabuki
fig from IN, 33pts.

Terrain:
Roman Coliseum by GAMURAI
The amphitheater is a vast ellipse with tiers of seating for 50,000 spectators around a central elliptical arena. Below the wooden arena floor, there was a complex set of rooms and passageways for wild beasts and other provisions for staging the spectacles. Eighty walls radiate from the arena and support vaults for passageways, stairways and the tiers of seats. At the outer edge circumferential arcades link each level and the stairways between levels. The three tiers of arcades are faced by three-quarter columns and entablatures, Doric in the first story, Ionic in the second, and Corinthian in the third. Above them is an attic story with Corinthian pilasters and small square window openings in alternate bays. At the top brackets and sockets carry the masts from which the velarium, a canopy for shade, was suspended.

LADY SHIVA
Lady Shiva Wu-San's mysterious past includes ties to the second Robin and retraining Batman after his back was broken by Bane. Shiva desires perfection in martial arts, which drive her around the globe in search of new techniques and opponents. Her abilities are formidable and cruel; her mastery is greater than almost anyone alive. Only one person has ever beaten Shiva -- Batgirl. Seeing her untapped potential, Shiva offered to teach Cassandra on one condition: they would meet one year later and fight to the death. Impossibly, Shiva was defeated by Batgirl, though she was granted mercy. Her defeat has left her humbled, given her new purpose, and revenge to exact.

KABUKI
A Japanese General discovers his wife was raped by his son. The mother, a kabuki actress, dies in childbirth. The child, Ukiko Kai, is taken away to a private academy to be raised as an agent of the Noh; an agency created combat the Yakuza. Years later, when Ryoichi Kai , the gangster son, learns about his bastard daughter, he tracks down the girl and carves the words "Kabuki" into her face as a warning to the general. The girl survives the attack, but has been changed by the experience. Believing she is now a "ghost ," she become Kabuki, the deadliest of the eight Noh agents. Kabuki is a graceful killer, versed in all forms of unarmed combat, though prefers the sickle used by her farming ancestors. Kabuki eventually gains revenge on her father Kai, killing him and most of his organization. When Kabuki is brought before the Noh board of directors for punishment, she bites off her own finger before assassinating the entire board.

I think Lady Shiva can take this fight no problem. Lady Shiva is a better overall martial artist. Plus Kabuki is missing a finger. J/K that won't be the difference

Kabuki is really good, but Shiva is better. Kabuki does have her two sickles to make up for this to an extent, but it isn't enough.

I'm picking Kabuki out of petty favouritism.

I'm going to give it to Shiva. She is the second best martial artist in the DC Universe (only to Batgirl).

My vote: Lady Shiva.

And another indy bites the dust. Shiva is much better then Kabuki. Kabuki's only advantage is her weapons, but that's not enough to give her an edge. My vote...
LADY SHIVA

Heck, one could consider the sickles are a weakness for Kabuki here - a reliance on something other than herself, as Shiva would point out. ;) Either way, Shiva teaches Kabuki all sorts of new styles but in very painful ways.

Vote: Lady Shiva

Lady Shiva. She regularly beats on super powered enemies. Also something i don't get is if lady shiva is the second best behind batgirl how come batmans smacked her down?

I'm gonna have to disagree with the pack and go with Kabuki. Kabuki is an amazing martial artist and assassin in her own right...not to mention her weapon proficiency with the sickles (and the fact that there are chains which come out the handle, giving her an effective ranged weapon and restraint device). Not to mention, Kabuki is very unconventional and can take a lot of pain (she bit off her own finger simply to distract her victims for pete's sake).

I'm giving this to Kabuki as well.

The weapons and toughness will apply. Lady Shiva lost to Batman, who she is the superior martial artist to. He had other attributes which applied to give him the win. Kabuki is the same. A martial artist CAN beat an armed foe, but if your foe was still VERY compotent in martial arts, but your better by a bit, and they had a sword, would you be confident to fight them ? Probably not. Its possible to still win, but when the skill level, while in Shives favor, isn't a HUGE gap ( Kabuki is quite talented ) I don't think its enough to give Shiva the win > 50%.
