Clix vs. Comix TOC! 31-35pts. Round 2 Match 8: KILLER FROST VS. HAWKMAN

I was playing Heroclix the other day, and building my team, I had 103 points left. I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

A city that has been covered in a strange cloud. This cloud has turned the city inhabitants into zombies. But wait, a few inhabitants remain and are stuck in the middle trying to get out. They few untouched have fortified a building and are waiting for the military to rescue them. This building is the only safe zone. (The Zombies may not be responsible for the KO of anyone)

KILLER FROST (II)
The first Killer Frost was Dr. Crystal Frost, the former girlfriend of Martin Stein who comprises one-half of the hero Firestorm. After being accidentally locked in a super-cold chamber, she lost her body warmth and gained control over ice and cold. Her assistant, Louise Lincoln replicated the experiment and gained even greater power, but it unhinged her mind. An unrepentant murderer, the second Killer Frost can create blizzards, throw razor sharp shards of ice and even freeze people solid.

HAWKMAN
Carter Hall has lived a hundred life times, all of them as the champion of the Thangarian Hawk God. Originally Prince Khufu of Egypt, Carter and his lover, Chay-Ara, discovered an alien ship, which imprinted them with the memories of the ancient Thangarians. The two lovers were murdered but were reborn again and again, destined to meet and fall in love. In the 40's Carter first adopted the guise of Hawkman, fashioning flying wings out of Nth metal and using ancient weapons in his battle against crime. He fought alongside both the JSA and the JLA against foes like Solomon Grundy and the Key. It was during "Zero Hour" that Carter was banished to another dimension by Extant and died. He has recently resurrected and re-joined the new JSA.

Hawkman is not only familiar with Killer Frost - and has fought more than a few super-powered opponents (heck, he fought the original ice-wielder, Icecicle, more than a few times) - but has a "surprise" for her. Frost believes that heroes are all fairly "boyscoutish" but with Carter that's a bad assumption to make. This is a man that got so tired of Matter Master's antics that he just out-and-out severed the man's weapon arms rather than mess around with a fight. Plus while Frost may not care about "survivors", she still has to fend for herself - she still shows up as "alive" to the zombies.

Well, I'll toss in my vote for Hawkman. Killer Frost is good, I mean, she can take on Firestorm, But all fliers have a real advantage in this terrain. Plus, as was said, Hawkman isn't a typical hero. He will take the cheap shot if the oppritunity arrises. My vote...

Just because the zombies can't be responsible for the KO of anyone doesn't mean Frost knows that. Anyone sensible is not going to waltz into a crowd of zombies hoping the arena protects them.

As a side note, the way Mystique beat Blob was supposedly because he would get KO'd from the zombies. People have been voting with the zombies as an influence the last few rounds. That may be against what the setting says, but the fact still remains the zombies have influenced votes.

I'm sure i've seen killer frost fly recently. Anyway i just think she is out of hawkmans league. Her mere presence drains energy from her opponent slowing them down. She has amazing ice ray powers that don't really need to be that accuratly directed.

My vote is for killer frost. She'll take out hawkmans wings quicker than deathstroke did and then hawkman is an icicle

One I dont think she will assume all heroes are boyscouts. the only villans who really think that are the jokes themselves becasue they dont see the really evil sides but KF has working alonside the Squad and she would know that Hawkman is not a nice guy or at least until he gets retconed and rebooted again. Then he will be a deranged homeless woodsman who control;sa falcon (err hawk);)

I vote Hawkman. He will be able to fly and avoid Zombies and he is very good with his weapons a truly legendary fighter.

Killer Frost won't have too hard of a time with the Zombies, but she still has to deal with them.
