It's an awesome video game. You should buy it because it will blow you away. On Gamespot they have a game guide and review and stuff it's very detailed and deep story about Greek Mythology. There are plans for a sequel so be expected for a franchise for the ages!! Hope you enjoy~

This game is great.
Very intuitive controls, difficulty not too high (currently on normal), interesting storyline, and you don't get penalized for dieing. (which you will)
My only negative on the game is the perspective. The enemies are huge; takes away from the detail on Kratos.
My roommate loved the game..
He just wished it had a "new game +" mode..

Thinking about getting it.
Side note, I have an interest in Greek mythology. What is the premise of the storyline in this game?

I'll try to field this.. I haven't played it but I know a little about my roomie's game... aparently the main character asks to be the best warrior ever or something like that. so Ares grants him that.. however the main character kills his family or his family is killed, and the point is he goes to beat ares to avenge his family..
I think that's got it without giving away any ending or anything.

You play Kratos (long A), a Spartan warrior who basically sold his soul to Ares to save his own life in battle against eastern barbarians. Ares turned him into the most feared warrior in the Mediterranean world, but there was a dear price to pay.
Cursed with nightmares of the horrible acts he has performed in his lifetime, Kratos prays to the gods to ease his suffering. Athena tells him that if he kills Ares, the gods will grant him mercy. En route to Athens, the Hydra attacks the fleet, and horrid undead legionnaires climb on board.
After defeating the Hydra and arriving in Athens, Kratos finds it under seige by Ares.
Alone.
Against the entire Athenian army.
And he's winning.
Because he's the size of a mountain.
When you find the Athenian oracle, she tells you how to find the secret to killing a god: Pandora's Box. The majority of the gameplay is inside the Temple of Pandora, where you must solve a lot of puzzles dedicated to the gods of Olympus before you can claim Pandora's Box.

Dark Soldier covered it pretty well, but I'd like to add, as a fellow fan of Greek Mythology, that while all stories based on the mythology take certain liberties with it, this game is loosely based on mythology, at best. It's a fantastic, if fairly mindless, game. My biggest complaint is that there are a few spots in the game that force you into platform jumping mode to progress, and they are insanely frustrating, mostly because they are so out of place. Hell, somewhat fittingly I suppose, was incredibly irritating because of this.
