Marvel/DC Team-Up:Round 2 Hero Match 1

Well, round one is now officially closed. We had some good match ups, and some total blow outs. From the original 16 of each bracket, only 8 remain.

Match Locale:
Stark Munitions Facility

The empty deserts of New Mexico serve as an ideal spot for the testing and development of new military weapons. Teams start in the bluffs surrounding the firing range and test grounds here. In the center is a large industrial complex full of all manner of high tech laboratories and machine shops. Most of the prototypes have been removed, but the particularly crafty individual might find some worthwhile tools here. Just don’t stay out in the sand to long, that desert is hot.

Rules of Engagement:

1. Fights are to the kill/ko
2. Teams start on opposite ends of the arena
3. Characters opperate as they would in their own comics/universes
4. 45 minutes prep time, but the arena may not be affected untill the buzzer
5. Characters may not leave the arena, or remove enemy characters from the arena

Superman has always been represented to me to be stronger than Orion. Likewise with Vision and Rogue.

Rouge is nearly useless against Vision, but if she could steal Supermans power, then Orion could take out Vision. Rouge and Superman battle for a while untill Orion is done and the two could take out big blue together. However, this probably won't happen. I can't really see Rouge getting the drop on him, so I will go with a more plausible scenerio. Superman and Vision beat their opponants to a bloody pulp. My vote...

I'm actually not even sure she could really drain Superman, at least not completely. She's been shown to have problems 'draining' signifigantly powerful foes.

Especially since Superman has Vision arround who can 'super charge' him (in a sun-baked environment).

She could perhaps draw enough off to let Orion take him though.

Well there is also the added bonus problem that Superman's invulnerability is technically a forcefield. On top of that Vision can confound the drain tactic by shapechangeing to look like Superman so Rogue doesn't know who to get at, at least at first. It also seems out of character for Rogue to use a power that is dangerous and risky to use in a situation where nothing beyond bragging rights is really at stake.

Yeah, he used it from time to time to assume a human guise. During the Nefaria Protocols arc he assumed the role of a person name "Victor" to investigate the Grim Reaper's doings. He did something similar during the Kang Dynasty/ Triune Understanding arc.

Gotta go with Superman and Vision.

As Rando states, Superman has always been represented as more than Orion is (even if just a bit) and Vision is immune to Rogues most damaging power (as she cannot drain robots and the like)

I cant see this match ending more often than not with any other victor.

Superman and Vision is just too much for Orion and Rogue

Orion and Superman beat the tar out of each other to a near standstill.

Vision takes out Rogue-with a bit of ease (what with becomine intangible and taking her out rather quickly). Heck, if Orion is beating on Supes too easily, Vision sacrifices himself to power up Supes who then turns Orion into paste.

It's a nice matchup, but the winner is pretty clear.

Hmm... I can actually think of several scenarios for Orion/Rogue to win. Orion has tremendous reserves of endurance, so if he allowed Rogue to drain him a bit, it wouldn't make him weak enough to affect his performances against Superman noticably, and a bit of Orion power is enough for her to either do much better against Vision, or be able to fight well enough against Supes to more assuradly get a good handhold or at least hold him off while Orion delt with Vision.


Also, the Motherbox can probably do several things to help them out big-time, like maybe counteract Vision's intangibility. Being an android, he'd be quite vunerable to the New Genesis technology.

If rogue could get to superman to be able to drain him i think things could go bad for supes but this is the man who's faster than a speeding bullet. Rogue isn't catching up in a race and she'll be too busy with vision anyway.
