Another slaughter. Poor Abbey Chase seemed to be out of her league against Clayface III.

I was playing Heroclix the other day, and building my team, I had 103 points left. I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.

Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.
With out further delay…

MR. HYDE
Calvin Zabo first used a formula to turn himself into the monstrous Mr. Hyde while attempting to embezzle from Thor's alter-ego, Dr. Donald Blake. After being defeated by the Norse god, Hyde teamed up with the villain Cobra and formed a partnership that brought him against Daredevil, Captain America and the Hulk. As Mr. Hyde, Zabo can lift up to 50 tons but still retains his intellect. Zabo has since become addicted to his formula, preferring to remain in his monstrous form.

HARPOON
Inuit Kodiak Noatak was part of the Mr. Sinister's Marauders who caused the "Mutant Massacre." Using his "slayspears" as a conductor, he could channel energy that would puncture, electrocute or disintegrate his targets. It was Harpoon's spears that pinned X-man Angel to the wall, resulting in the hero having to have them amputated and replaced with metal ones. Harpoon was killed during "Inferno" but has since been cloned thanks to his master.

I dont think Harpoon can do much to hyde, hyde gets my vote just because he is though

A tanker vs. a blaster. Interesting.

Hyde will (interestingly enough) hide from Harpoon. When he has his back turned, Hyde picks up an elephant and smacks him down.

My vote: Mr. Hyde

In a circus, Hyde could prbably blend in very well. Just hang with the freak show crowd. I agree that harpoon won't do much to him. My vote...
MR. HYDE

Hyde isn't the type to "hide" with the freakshow unless he's losing or his Cal-personality is more in charge. As for Harpoon being able to hurt Hyde, well, think of it this way: not only has Hyde been brutally whipped by Captain America in combat (and Cap used only his fists and shield as he wanted to punish Hyde for torturing Jarvis), but Harpoon's slayspears darn near killed Colossus in one shot (and Piotr was about to be executed by a second until his team saved him). If a "standard charge" slayspear can put down Colossus they're going to do far more to Hyde.

Vote: Harpoon

R_K I think must be the only other person on the thread to have read the Mutant Massacre.
His interpretation is most accurate.
Hyde is not hard to hit.

Hyde can throw down with the Hulk. I think he's insane enough to be able to take out Harpoon

I've seen incarnations or hyde that would've had it all over captain america in hand to hand. Therefore i don't see harpoon slowing hyde down before he closes the range and tears him apart.

Put me down for a vote for Mr.Hyde...I don't think harpoon is gonna take him down fast enough before Hyde rips him to shreds. Mr. hyde to move to round 2.

Actually, put me down for Harpoon.

As mentioned, if his energy charged harpoons can put a real hurting on Colossus, Im sure theyll knock Mr hyde through a loop as well. (especially since Ive seen instances where even Black Knights and Caps fists hurt Hyde) Hes durable sure, but Harpoons attacks were made for hurting such durable foes, and he does have the ranged advantage as well.
