This is the last match with a Marvel character in it. Who is in tomorow's? Stay tuned to find out.

I was playing Heroclix the other day, and building my team, I had 103 points left. I looked at my selection and realized that U HT Batman and R IC Hulk both cost the same. This got me thinking. Just because they are Heroclix equals doesn’t translate back translate back to comics. I think most of us would agree that Hulk could beat Batman in a fight.

That is the idea for this tournament. Every entry will be close to the same amount of points Heroclix wise, but this will be their comic forms fighting!

Rules:
This will be a standard single elimination tournament with 32 combatants. There will be 2 to a fight. They get no knowledge of each other (unless they have fought in the past). The only thing they get is the Heroclix figure of there enemies, and a PAC so they know what the opponent looks like and a bit about what they can do (this can be misleading however, like if they face Electro and think he will try to poison them). They will have 5 minutes to prepare. This is a fight to the death or KO, whichever happens first, and they must fight (no waiting for the opponent to die of starvation). They have with them what they normally carry and what there fig has if it is different. (Like how Bullseye doesn’t carry a gun, but he has one on the fig). If the fig that is being used is the rookie, you do NOT have to treat the fighter like that. (unless the characters powers change dramatically ie: Rouge)

When you vote, please try to justify your answer. You don’t have to write an essay, just a short explanation will do.

Terrain
There are 10 terrains that are all 5 miles in diameter. They will be chosen randomly.
With out further delay…

Star-Spangled Kid
LG, 40pts.
vs.
Invisible Girl
CT, 37pts.

Terrain:
Burning City by St-Dumas
There are several 30 story apartment buildings that are on fire, and the combatants are in them! With a few innocent bystanders trapped on some of the floors as well as the foundation of the buildings beginning to give, the fighters might want to be careful not to damage the terrain. (Think Great Chicago Fire)

STAR-SPANGLED KID (II)
When Courtney Whitmore discovered her step-father Pat Dugan was the retired hero Stripsey, she adopted the identity of the Star-Spangled Kid to tick him off. Using the cosmic converter belt of the original Star-Spangled Kid (who was Stripsey's partner), she battled crime in her hometown of Blue Valley. The belt gives her enhanced strength and the ability to shoot nerve disrupting "stars." Dugan joined her wearing his cybernetic battle suit known as S.T.R.I.P.E. After proving herself against Mordru, Courtney was asked to join the JSA.

INVISIBLE GIRL
Susan Storm found she could turn herself invisible when she was exposed to cosmic rays. She later learned to generate force fields which she can manipulate into a variety of forms. Along with her fiancé Reed, brother Johnny and friend Ben, she founded the adventuring team, the Fantastic Four. Namor tried to win her hand, but she and Reed eventually married. Over the years Sue has matured in both power and character, eventually re-naming herself Invisible Woman. When not saving the universe, she lives in the Baxter Building with her husband and her two children; Franklin and Valeria.

With invisible girl's shielding and invisibility, there is no way Coutney is going to be able to find her or withstand the fires. Invisible girl wins this by sneaking up on Courtney when she is gasping for air and knocking her out. THen she begins to save the innocent bystanders....

Invisible Woman. Courtnety is decently powerful, but IW is very very powerful, especially on defense.

NOTE: (this was suppos to go up earlier, but I lost my internet connection for some reason)
This is R Star-Spangled Kid. So she should not have the cosmic rod yet, however, sicnce her clix has it, that means so does she. Basically, she has the rod, but has never used it before.

...and I agree, Sue has an incredibly storng defence that Courtney can't brake. My vote...
INVISIBLE GIRL

While I agree poor Courtney's out-of-luck here, one thing to remember is that this is Sue with her powers like they were as Invisible Girl - that can prove important in later rounds as Sue didn't really get creative or tough with her powers until she became Invisible Woman (post-Malice personality).

Same powers...differant name. Her powers never changed, she just got better. In other words...this is Invisible Woman. (It's just that I put girl 'cause that's listed on the dial)

Eh, depends on your definition of "same powers". Pre-Invisible Woman there were plenty of times Sue had trouble maintaining a force-field and didn't make much in the way of force-constructs (if really at all). She also didn't "fly" (as IW she doesn't fly in the traditional sense either, but close enough). It was also beyond her capability - her "mental blocks" - to make a barrage of force constructs or expand fields out from inside objects. Her main powers focused on just a pure defensive field and invisibility stunts.

Invisible Girl is said to the be the most powerful of the Fantastic 4. I don't think Star Spangled Kid could take any of the F4. Too bad. But my vote is Invisible Girl.

Glad to see my terrain in use.

They put the fight on hold to save the civillians, then save the civillians, then Invis blocks all hits with the bubble and beats her up and stuff.

My vote: Invisible Girl

...and looking at the last 2, tomorrows match should be a sweep also.
