Alright....so I just watched my TIVOed Enterprise finale: "These are the Voyages..."

Gotta say...I'm pretty annoyed. And I wonder if I'm the only one.

Comments with spoilers ahead......

1) I like Riker and Troi and all the TNG cast...but it really annoyed me that they seemed to upstage the departing cast. I think Riker got more screen time than Archer...and Troi more than T'Pol. This would have been fine for any other novelty episode they do...but for the finale I would have like the central cast to take center stage.

2) The killed Trip. But they killed him in a IMHO really lame way. Let's think about this: Trip had been serving on Enterprise for 4 years before the series finale...and 6 more years on top of that. This is a total of 10 years of close calls and tough jams. And the best way he comes up with to defeat 4 goons and save the ship is to overreact and then blow himself up?

3) Going along with number 2...how come we get practically zero reaction from the crew (except Archer and T'Pol)? I mean seriously...you guys served with him for 10 years and no emotion at all? But we'll let Riker show his relief since he "now knows what to do."

4) A very small nitpick...but I'm glad Reed and Travis want to follow Archer wherever he goes but c'mon...you served this guy faithfully for 10 years and still haven't seen a promotion? There must be a maximum amount of Lt Cdrs and Lts allowed in Starfleet at one time.

5) 4 years of Enterprise...and we still don't get to see the forming of the Federation. How great that the last "Enterprise" scene is Troi and Riker walking out the holodeck.

Anyways...that sums up my rant. On a side note...I almost got real annoyed when the final shots of the show were of the Enterpise D with Picard's voice over. But in the end...it was pretty cool how they transitioned to Kirk and then Archer.

No matter what...the show ended before it's time. #### UPN.

You're right in that this would have made a cool novelty episode. I also agree with you that this, THE FINAL EPISODE, should have had JUST the main cast. Seriously, they should have edited out the scenes involving Enterprise D, and given Archer time for his speech, (with or without accompanying flashbacks), then end using the final scenes with the three Enterprises. :)

They've been dropping the ball with the entire franchise for years now. Look at how eroded the fanbase has become. The last movie flopped, there are no plans for any new series. The UPN network was created with the idea that Star Trek would be it's centerpiece and look what's happened.
I can't believe that there was no one out there who knew how to keep the Star Trek franchise interesting. One place where they dropped the ball is all the aliens looked and acted like humans. Trying to keep costs down by cutting back on make up and special effects was the wrong way to go.
I agree that the last show was a tremendous let down. Trip's death was cheap.
Maybe an absense of five years is what this franchise needs.
Or perhaps it's time to allow younger actors to play Kirk, Spock and the rest of the crew. That might be the revitalization it needs.

I like the epsiode, I guess is because I'm a NG fan.

The end with theships was emotive for me. Glade Riker and Troi don't look soo older after too many years sinse the NG series, BTW what is the NG episode name conected to this??

One think what I don't like is the no change in any details of the uniforms after 6 years in the future.

Well, just I'm glade to know what archer is almirant for more of 10 years after be Captain o the Enterprise and he day very very older.

How I know that? just ask...

The episode this references is called 'The Pegasus.' It is about a ship with a phase cloaking device.
