Who do you guys think is the best cybertronic character? My vote goes to R2-D2 and Gork from The Day the Earth Stood Still. You guys?

ED-209 from Robocop was pretty ####ed cool despite the whole inability to walk on stairs thing (It makes baby crying sounds when it topples! ) T-1000 from Terminator 2 is up there as well, as are the Destroyer Droids (or Droideka if you're feeling Polish  ) from the Star Wars prequels. There's just too many...

My toddler would vote R2-D2. He's easy for him to relate to.
Daleks. Robbie comes in a close second

Tom Servo from MST3K: The Movie

Roy Batty from Blade Runner. Best robot death speech ever. Alternately (depending on which version you've seen), Deckard from Blade Runner.

GAH! How could I forget about Tom Servo?! He's my pick as well. Thanks for bringing me to my senses Dark Flash...

Always been more of a Crow fan myself. Can't watch any of the Sci-Fi episodes because it's not Dr. Forrester's voice anymore...
Since you guys named a lot of my faves, I'm going to have to say Number Five from Short Circuit.
Maximillion, the silent & sociopathic red robot from the movie "The Black Hole". Now THERE'S a character I'd love to a miniature made of.

I've always been partial to the Lost In Space robot and the robot from Fantastic Planet. Data was fun in Star Trek TNG as well.

The robot voiced by John Candy in Heavy Metal.

  Well, he definitely went where few other robots have gone before.

Well, This one time I saw this movie on cinemax and their was this robot woman sent from the future to do.... um..... uh....
I like the floating orb of death droid though from A New Hope that was going to extract the data from Leia... Something about a hovering droid that dishes out extremely powerful sedatives just makes me go hmmmm.....

Fixed it,
my vote goes to Marvin the paranoid android. The original one from the BBC verson, not the new one.

R2-D2 is an obvious but well-deserved choice.
I also want to mention IG-88, the droid bounty hunter from that one scene in Empire Strikes Back with all the bounty hunters.
HK-47 from Knights of the Old Republic gets an honorable mention (I know its a game and not a movie but that game was way better than the prequels).
For a non-star wars robot: From a TV show, an honorable mention goes to the robot from the Bebop Cola episode of SeaLab2021. It was the robot that made a necklace out of Murphy's teeth.

You know that was V.I.N.CENT from The Black Hole, right?

I thought I recognized that robot from somewhere. I don't think I've seen that movie in at least 15 years.

 Yet ANOTHER cool robot from that movie. My fave is still Maximillion, but VINCENT was definitely a close second. And we musn't forget Old BOB (bio-sanitations division ;) ).

I'd say Bender, but since there is no Futurama movie, I'll go with Data. Or don't Soong-type androids count as robots?
Lore wasn't in any of the Star Trek movies, was he?
I don't think he was, but then I don't remember a whole lot from the Next Gen movies as I was fairly unhappy with all of them.

There was a Data/Lore prototype in Star Trek Nemesis, although not quite as advanced as Data, but it did give the writers a possible loophole to exploit -- should there be another Next Gen. movie.
Yep, "Nemesis," a.k.a. "In Search of -- a Proper Ending." :disappoin
