View Full Version : The Star Wars Trivia Thread

Now that all the chapters have been released, we can do a proper trivia thread. This will be standard trivia rules: First person posts a question. Whoever answers it first gets to post the next question. Whoever answers that question posts the next, and so on in that fashion.
Who was Anakin Skywalkers father (Not counting Lars)?

Anakin's father was the Force. Although technically, he had no father. When Qui-gon asked Shmi about his father, she replied, "There was no father."

I suppose I should post a trivia, hey? Let's see.....
Okie. This'll be easy. Who was Anakin's stepfather?

Owen Lars. Or maybe Watto. Either of those would pri be acceptable.
What line has appeared at least once in every Star Wars movie?

What line has appeared at least once in every Star Wars movie?
Probably "May be the Force be with you"
That or "I've got a (very) bad feeling about this"
If that's right, the new question is in A New Hope, what is the name of the somewhat overweight pilot who flies an X-wing and crashes onto the surface of the Death Star? Is that enough info?

Huzzah! Well done. I agree with FIS that Rogue 2 was Wedge Antilles and he found Luke and Han.

You guys are off just a bit. Collectively the X-Wing squadron that took part in the attack on the first Death Star was called Rogue Squadron. However they did not use Rogue 1, Rogue 2, ect. for their call signs, instead they used Red 1, Red 2, etc.
Wedge Antilles was Red 2.
And the guy you're all forgetting is Biggs Darklighter, who was Red 3.

Actually I think it was the other way around. During the Battle of Yavin there was Red Squadron and Gold Squadron. The survivors of the battle of Yavin went on to form Rogue Squadron. They changed the name back to Red Squadron for the attack on the second Death Star as an homage to their fallen mates.
But more to the point, it was Rogue Two that found Han and Luke on Hoth, and his name wasn't Wedge or Biggs...it was Zev Senesca.
Yup, after finding the two heroes of Yavin Zev went on to be shot down by an attacking Walker.
Well, try this one out for size (hopefully it'll be easier than that last one! )
What was the name of the Star Destroyer that pursued and captured the Tantive IV over Tatooine?
Good luck!

Ok, it appears I've gotten the battles mixed up somewhere (I thought we were talking Yavin instead of Hoth).
However its a fact that during the Battle of Yavin, Wedge was Red 2 and Biggs was Red 3.

Nope. This is sort of a trick question which I learned at Star Wars Celebration III right from the actor involved. I'll leave this question go for a bit to see how much people do know about Star Wars trivia... ;)

Hmm, I know its probably incorrect, but I'll say Admiral Piett.
Although he didnt technically kill himself, he knew that by failing to capture the Millenium Falcon and then reporting to Vader to apologize was pretty much certain death. After all, it already happened to his predecessor just a few hours before.
Might as well put a blaster barrel in your mouth at that point.

Wasn't that Captain Needa? Piett took an A-Wing in the back at the Battle of Endor - which made him relatively long-lived for an Imperial flag officer...

You are correct sir, I did mean Captain Needa.
Okay. It seems like I stumped those few that are participating in this Thread. The answer is:
Denis Lawson (aka: Wedge Antilles).
Denis has the distinction to be the only Star Wars character to actually kill himself.
As everyone knows Lawson played the young Corellian, Wedge Antilles. Former call sign of Red 2 and future leader of Rogue Squadron.
But, little known is that in The Empire Strikes Back Lawson also played a second part. He played one of the AT-AT drivers during the Battle Of Echo Base on Hoth. In particular, he played an AT-AT driver of the very same Imperial Walker that he blew up with his Snowspeeder towards the end of the battle.
Hence, he killed himself.
I told you it was a trick question... ;)

What was Mara Jade's title when she worked for the Empire?

John Ratzenberger as Major Derlin, the rebel trooper on Hoth who informed Princess Leia that the shield doors had to be closed (whilst Luke and Han were still outside).
OK, here's another question. How did Old Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi save Luke from the Tusken Raiders ambush in ANH?
