Other than cheap pogs and such I was wondering who you guys use for tie up characters?
I wish the new Mr Fantastic would be really cheap, have plasticity the whole dial, high defense, and super senses and that's it.

I like to use r chameleon on his 2nd click, poison, plasticity, shapechange and wildcarding mysics gives the opponent few enjoyable options to work with :)

V Sidewinder. Cheap, VERY fast (14 movement) and super senses. Plus, he has leadership to aid the rest of your team, and a decent Atk with 2 dmg.

Cloak and Man-Thing are both pretty nasty... Cloak has poison and exploit weakness, with phasing after a click or two to get hisself the heck out of trouble. Man-Thing is just mean, man. He's got stealth and exploit weakness, takes a few hits and gets plasticity and poison. Nothing more obnoxious than trying to breakaway from a fig with poison, roll a 3, and have it not be good enough.

4. Roll a 4 and it not be good enough. Man, I am so on the ball today...

Well, technically a 3 isn't good enough either... it's just not as upsetting as a 4 might be.
So you weren't wrong, your example just wasn't that extreme...
I used E Anaconda the other day. I had her pick up an object along the way, Serpent Society her way to where I wanted her and parked her next to some support pieces. Her toughness protected her and plasticity kept them from getting away.

I used a swarm of 4 moloids to great effect against Giant Man in a tournament yesterday.
I'd base him, he'd squish me... it was a match made in heaven, really.

to me I don't like putting a peice out there to tie up because it leave's them open to be stomped !! but if I had my choice it would be the CON exclusive YellowJacket 20 defence leap climb cheap point's incapacitate

actually it depends what u mean by "tie-up" but ive used 19-point E Morlocks (with plasticity) while advancing my doctor fate up the map, keeping in mind he can PC the plasticity roles on non-stealthed snipers trying to break away.
an e morlock with a cheap pc....no one escapes that.

A good figure to tie up with is Swamp Thing. Any of the 3 will do. They all have 11 clicks. Their dial is consistent the whole way through, and they can deal out alot of damage. He could be the best brawler in the game. Plus with his phasing, he can get out of there if you need to.

Personally E Moon Knight is the best i think.
27pts
Avengers TA
10 Move Stealth
9 Super Strength
16 Willpower
2
4 Range 2 targets. After he takes a click or two he gets leap climb to get away. If he has an object, he is hitting for 4, thats 1 shotting a medic

I like E Arsenal, because I could never devote 20+ points to a peice whos sole purpose is just to keep my enemy from running away. Arsenal though can be TKed out and then RS next to a flying centerpeice, attack for 3 with a sweet 10 attack, and then push to attack again next turn. To kill arsenal the enemy woulnd need to deal 5 damage, which you could hopefully prevent by damaging the enemy with Arsenal and your centerpeice so that they can't 1 hit KO Arsenal.
The Atom
50pts
20dv
9av
perplex
5 clicks of phasing if he's hit

Wanna really get under your oponent's skin?Try using the EV versions of Vertigo.Incapacitate and can target 2 characters, not to mention using |"Stunning Blow".Not only can she now incapacitate 2 characters, she also does damage to them.
If she can make it to the last 10-15 minutes of the game, and your opponent is on the ropes, she can REALLY become a frustrating piece to combat.
The Werle

Sandman is still good as a tie-up figure. Plasticity and Invulnerability that shifts to combat senses and incapacitate, with phasing at the tail-end so you can sneak off to the medic. He's not so great outdoors, but on indoor maps where he can phase through walls he can be quite wicked.

Yeah except her Damage Value is....0....yep....0....all the way down the dial. Mr.Terrific is better for that, 2 targets and 2 damage, PLUS he has Willpower, Stealth and Outwit.

I faced a V Quicksilver with Damage Shield yesterday. He was used primarily as a tie-up piece and then as a secondary attacker. It didn't work so well as my entire team had HSS, but I still thought it was a pretty good idea.

LOL,my bad for forgetting that her damage had to be modified and cannot use SB.Still, she can really frustrate an opponent.

I prefer Exp Quicksilver. I don't like my tie-up pieces taking an action to move around.

To me, a tie up piece is a cheap distraction to keep your opponent either tied down or force them to move and waste an action getting away.
Tie up pieces will be crucial when Icons hits as fliers will not be able to range away if they are based.
My favorites:
E Moon Knight - a great piece!
Vanisher - phasing, high movement, SS
Quicksilver - retired, but fun and a free move with the E or R

My favorite tie up piece(s) as of recently is actually a combo!! I used (R) Chameleon carrying (E) Viper (poison & mastermind). It worked great when I based (U) Thor. Chameleon copied Bat's TA until he was able to get into position to base. It took Thor several rounds to finally break free and by that time he suffered a few clix from Viper plus several more from (V) Nebula and because I played radiation leak BFC he was unable to recover.

LE - Yellowjacket: has L/C, 20 Def, and incap. Yellowjacket can virtually tie up any piece on the board. The L/C and 20 Def combo is awesome.

Let's see. My favorites:
R Clayface
Sidewinder
Vanisher
Rookie Nightcrawler
Atom
Exp Moon Knight
I really liked Quicksilver for this role, but since he's been retired, I've been using Sidewinder.

I like Quicksilver R/E and any Vanisher. I reach for Sidewinder, but then always find a use for the few extra points and go back to Vanisher.

R chameleon if you are playing wildcard abuse. If you carry around an MJ pog and copy stealth and mystics. Push chameleon onto that second click with plasticity, shape change and poison. Opponent either takes the poison click of damage or the mystics retaliation.

Im going to have to go with the Plas. Plastic Man is my favorite tie up piece. The rookie has plasticity and perplex up front, but Id go with the Exp who has frontloaded Plasticity and Shape Change, then goes to perplex. I wouldn't recomend the Vet though. He starts with Shape Change, which is great, but doesn't have plasticity up front.

V Ult Spidey or E Moon Knight.
...I need more Moon Knights.
