I had a friend introduce me to it and I immediatly bought all the sets I could find!
I've since then converted 4 friends into loving it and buying it as well!
That INCLUDES 2 people I play Clix with. In fact they insist on playing Munchkin RIGHT after the clix tourny is over.
If you haven;t tried it you SHOULD. The most fun one is the basic "Munchkin" set. It's based around D&D. The game is a basic parody of of the RPG. It's hilarious!
Basicly, the goal is to get to level 1o (by killing monsters and collecting treasure) before the other player. Luckily you can do things to make them LOSE combat and levels! But they can do the same! Alliances are quickly made and broken! The best and worst part about this game is it brings out the worst in everyone!
Try it. You'll love it.
BTW: A Munchkin game called "Super Munchkin" is coming out soon and it's based on Superhero stuff.

We have Munchkin (the basic), Munchkin Bites (Vampires, Werewolves... white wolf stuff) and Munchkin Blender which is just random ####. I'll be buying Super Munchkin just as soon as it comes out.
The game rocks...
Beware my Sword of Slaying Everything Except Squid!

Also, the boxes say "takes about an hour to play" that it TOTQL BS. If play with only 1 other person then sure but if you play with the required 3 or more it can take hours.
I've played with 7 total people and the game lasted over 4 hours!

Haha. Ok, I'll remember it. So do you like it better than Vs.?

It's not a CCG so it doesn't really compare.
If I had to choose it over Vs then sure but it's not a collectible game. you buy the set and your ready to play. there are expansions to each main game plus you can COMBINE all the main games into one BIG game. It's awesome!

Hmm. I'll have to check it out. Any expansions you guys suggest?
DarkCrisis

All of them.
If you want to get the best set get plain "Munchkin". It has 2 expansions. "Unnatural Axe" and "Clerical Errors". If you only want oneget Axe (as Errors says inside the box that some cards have to be removed if you don't have Axe already) but I'd suggest both.

Alright. Does it require anything else that I need to pick up, or is all in a basic starter pack? I didnt know if I needed special dice or whatnot.

As for the others:
Star Munchkin is based of Star Trek and Star Wars it has the "Clown Wars" expansion
Munchkin Fu based off Kung Fu movies etc has the "Monkey Business" expasnion
Munchkin Bites is based of the White Wolf World of Darkness and has no expansion yet.
Super Munchkin comes out next month and is based off super hero stuff
Regular Munchkin is based off D&D and has the 2 expasniosn ilisted earlier
There is also a set called "Munchkin Blender" which is add in cards for ANY set but mainly meant to be used when combining games into one big game.
And combining games is a riot cause you can come up with some WEIRD characters like Half Catgirl half vampire cleric/space ranger that weilds a laser gun and a Mace of Sharpness in his chainmail bikini and has Werewolf feet and WoD supernatural powers and knows Judo...

It comes witha D6 needed to make rolls but it doesnt hurt to have some D10s for keeping track of player levels.
Ther is a webpage with more ifno

This game is a blast. And you can really screw the other players so even if it looks bad, you are still in the game
I have been at 9th level and the other 2 players at 2nd and I got killed by an ancient huge humungous fungus
I have all the expansions save Monky Business (non-Kovalic art turns me off of it) as well as the book mark. I want to get the t-shirts (which are actually part of the game!)
The game is 100% fun and easy and NEVER the same twice

I worship this game, me and my college crew have it, its two sequels, bites, munchkin Fu, star munchkin 1+2. Its incredible and eats up more time than you would ever believe.
Try it drunk, try it bleary eyed tired deep into the night.
Also, if you like card games I recomend Killer Bunnies and Sp.a.n.c. (Space Pirate Amazon Ninja Catgirls) the former is goofy fun and the latter is another one from Steve Jackson Games. Both are excellent gifts for the Furry in your life ;)

We picked up SPANC the other day... It's amusing... but it's no Munchkin.
I recommend Chez Geek ... that's a fun, laughable game.

Cool, I wasn't aware of that.
I picked up Munchkin about a year ago and bought the expansions as soon as they were available.
We also have Star Munchkin and Munchkin Bites in our group.
I have been to an official Munchkin tournament and tried to qualify for the German Championship, but failed. We played Munchkin Fu at the occasion and it was a lot of fun, too.
I can only recommend to get this game.

Picked up Munchkin Fu yesterday and I love it. Definatly my 2nd fave of the Munchkin games. In some aspects it's moer serious but in others more zany. And a lot fo the cards are neat! I can't wait to try it in a Blender game which I thinkwill help balance stuff out as it has all classes and no races where as Bites has all races and no classes.
So my list of faves:
4. Star
3. Bites
2. Fu
1. Original
I can't wait to see what Super Munchkin is like.
Yeah, Munchkin is a pretty good game. Of course, half the fun is just reading the titles of the monster and equipment cards as well as the flavor text. Like "The Shadow Nose" or "Gentleman's Club". Wasn't there one monster called "Pokethulu" too?
