I picked up this game a couple of days ago and it's pretty fun. Anybody else have it? And if so what do you think about it?

I think this game is ok. It's probably the best Batman game in recent memory, but that isn't really saying a whole lot. The fighting is pretty fun and the graphics are very nice, but I don't like how linear it is. It pretty much shows you exactly what to do all the time. And you can only use items exactly when they need to be used. You have batarangs, but can only use them when the batarang symbol appears. This makes the game a little too easy and a little too straight-forward. i'd like to at least be able to figure a few things out for myself. But, it's a fun game regardless.

Question. Is it worth buying, or should I just rent it?

It depends on how much of a fanboy you are....

A rental should give you plenty of time to beat it and unlock everything--and I'm not sure how much replay value it has.

It's like Star Wars ROTS---it's a very fun game, but it's quite short.

3 and a half stars out of 5, I'd say.

Hmm. Well, Im no DC fanboy, so Its definitely looking like a rental. Im a HUGE game-fanboy though, so I figured I would ask. Its already sounding like the first Spider-man game that was released for the movie.

Yeah it does remind me of that first Spiderman movie game now that you mention it. It's perhaps even more linear than that game was, but just as fun. Definitely worth a rental, but not necessarily a purchase. I'll probably end up trading it in after I beat it.

Yes, its definitely too linear. Even more so than most games. I don't like how you have no choice about attacking thugs with guns.

Maybe I am just spoiled by free-roaming games like Spidey 2.

To me it feels really wierd and too much like a bad splinter cell. If you know what i mean. I had really high hopes for it to. I just wish they could make at least one really good batman game. just oen is that too much to ask for.

maybe i'll rent it, if theres nothing else to rent at the time, games based on movies are really bad 95% of the time, so it wont bother me at all if this game sucks

I decuided to think of it more as a puzzle game than an action game, ad that helped. I finished it two nights ago, and it was worth a rental, but I'm a little sad I bought it. I might play it one more time, with one of the alternate costumes though.

I rented and enjoyed it, but I really wish they let you throw Batarangs at thugs! I know he didn't do it in the movie, but it would make everything so much easier...

This game was probably one of the better Batman games-right up there with Batman Vengeance. If you were able to throw batarangs at Thugs and if the game wasn't so restrictive (can't use this yet, you have to line it up/wait for the right moment, can't do the cool multi-attack moves until the thing says so, blah blah blah) it would be the best Batman game and arguable the best game period. I just enjoyed the fact that there wasn't much platform jumping and you could "interrogate" enemies. The way fear was incorporated into the combat system was cool and the finishing moves for when the character was really fricken scared and saw a Bat-demon knock him out was simply awesome.

Also, I managed to finish the game within 8 hours (overall-I try to have some semblance of a life), there really needs to be more levels added or something (though I can understand it is difficult what with enough memory, programmers, etc. one can dream, right?)

I couldn't stand it.

I've already beaten Burnout 3. I didn't feel like playing it again. Batmobile missions were.......well.......unoriginal....

The actual missions felt like Splinter Cell without the things that make Splinter Cell fun. And not being able to batarang people is pretty stupid. And yes, way too linear.

Certain parts of it felt like Prince of Persia without any true challenge to them.

I rented it and took it back the day after to get my $1 credit. It wasn't worth playing any longer than that.

I'd like to see a Batman game that lets you ACTUALLY BE the dark knight detective. You have free reign over the entire city a la spiderman 2, yet all the buildings have rooms, etc. You go inside a building, you check for clues, you get waypoint markers to help you out.

They could make a Batman game that is VERY much like Spiderman 2 for the nex-gen consoles. For that matter, they could make a Superman game too....but you'd have to have God mode on 24/7 to enjoy it

To me this game seemed like it was holding your hand the whole way through. Do something to scare the thugs then beat them up. It tells you what to do everywhere. To me the best part of the game was jumping off of things and gliding with the cape, it looked cool. I'm so glad I just rented it.

It's not even worth the rent.

Although, maybe the fact that I plaayed Hulk: Ultimate Destruction first has something to do with my negative reaction.

But I just think it's stupid.

They need to mae a free-roaming Batman game, a la Spidey and Hulk.

Marvel knows whats goin' on. ;)

Agree completely..... and the soon to be Ghost Rider. It would be cool to drive around Gothom in the BatMobile.

About this game, IT SUX!!!!!! YOu know it makes you fell the game has you on a leash, it basically commands you that you must push the box that way, climb that ladder, ect. I rented, I would not play it at all if I were you but if your a fan rent it.
