Hi all,

first of all, great idea moving this forum Azs! :)

I´d like to hear from you if you do trade internationally and the exact reason if you don´t.

I have already done almost 100 deals here since 2002 (I live in Brazil) and I may say that, except in cases where I dealt with scammers, I always received my packages without further problems (never had a single case of lost package). Ok, it takes a little bit more time, but I´m pretty sure most of traders from US could have excellent international deals if you´re willing to. Threads like "US only please" really turn me down... :disappoin

For those who don´t know, there are some ways to track packages from Brazil to USA... I always send my packages by Express Mail Service (EMS), it usually costs me around $20-25 each package, but I´m always trying to make huge deals to make it worth.

This thread is mostly here to encourage international deals... I´d also like to hear people from Canada, Germany, England, Chile, Italy and so on... and what you guys think about it (I have already dealt with people from all these countries as well).

By the way, one last piece of advice: when shipping internationally (specially to Brazil), please NEVER EVER declare a value higher than US$20.00 / gift. Brazilian customs tax all packages with high declared values in 60%!

Guess that´s it!

Thanks for your time,

Oggs

I notice that the flags seem to have disapeared from under peoples names.

I live in England and get very upset when people agree a trade and then backout when we swap address's and they realise I do not live in the US of A.

I also trade internationally, but because of possibly backing out of trades, I always mention I live in The Netherlands in my first message. If someone then says 'no' because of the costs involved, I'm OK with that. Al my trades, except 2 frauds, had no problems with shipping. I normally use priority myself: it takes about 4 to 5 days to get from here to the US and doesn't cost that much extra. Getting your figures 4 to 5 weeks after a trade is agreed upon, because the other person doesn't go for priority, can be a bit frustrating, but so far everything worked out.

I've made good deals with people from all over the world and never really had a problem.
Most of the time my trading partners are surprised at how fast they receive their stuff. The average shipping time from Germany to the US (and vice versa) is about a week.
I don't understand why people restrict their sales to the US, though. What do they have to lose? I mean, it is the same trip to the post office for them, except that they have to fill out a small form, which probably takes a minute.

Canadians here!!!

1) We too see a lot of USA only. (including Ebay) We believe it is a combination of ignorance (can't be bothered to learn how to ship internationally-- duh ask your trading partner!) and cost (especially with tracking).
2) We miss the flags too
3) Painting us all with one brush- " like I got burned by a Canadian- all Canadians send first -insert your own country)" With that kind of thinking its a wonder any trades get made. Thieves and conmen know no boundry.

Reputation and communication are essential. We too started slowly, and while our thread is small here (20s), we have almost 700 stars on Ebay- having shipped the globe from Australia, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Netherlands, Philippines, UK, and across North America, as well as some other countries we may have forgotten.
We will continue to support HCRealms as it continues to grow.

As a Canadian, I usually find it easy to just check with the seller/trader if they have a problem shipping to Canada. Just a quick message to someone along the lines of "I know it says "US only", but I'm in Ontario. Is that a problem?"

Then you get a quick "no thanks" or "no problem" and you're set. I can understand this may be different for people overseas, but it never hurts to ask.

I ship in Canada, the U.S. and just about every country you can think of...the one thing that Pi$$es me of is the absurd rates they charge at the post office!! You know like when you send ONE Heroclix fig to B.C. and the total is $9.75, and then just to rub it in a little further The Same Package mailed to Texas only costs $5.60!
...and then you receive One Figure from the U.S. and it only costs $1.10? What is up with that?

Oggs mentioned Chile!!!
yesss my little country has come in consideration in a thread !!! yay!!!!

ok. ahem...well back on the subject

I have to say that is pretty disapointing whe you have negotiated a great deal and when the other end backs out because they realise its an international trade (even though I always point that out before anything)..it has happened to me a few times. But mostly I've found people that is very friendly and willing to send to the southernmost country in the world..I have to say that international trading has been always a pleasant expierence to me...in fact I've made new friends via trading.

I have traded with Americans, Canadians, and Brazilians and 99% of the time everything had gone sweetly and smoothly

the only time I've had problems with trading was with an scammer.
also once I had a little trouble with my local customs because I got a package in a long thin box ...and they opened it... but that was not the fault of the person who sent it and by the way I still trade with him

well that's in short what I think about int'l trading
KEEP ON CLIXING AND TRADING!!!!

I'm a UK person, and though i've just started trading on this website, I have bought numerous heroclix from sites such as ebay, usually from america. I hate it when people complain that if they send their figures to me in a trade, it would take weeks and would cost as much as the figure they want off me. This is not true, as i've ordered before, and it usually takes 1 week at most to get to me, at a maximum cost of $6-8.
