:devious: I went into this film not expecting too much having just seen its origin in House of 1000 Corpses. The latter was a fledgling attempt at filmmaking and appeared so in everyway-hamhanded acting/poor script/amatuer direction-your basic garbage pizza.I say this loving Rob Zombie. The Devil's Rejects on the other hand is full of growth and promise. You have to understand it's a genre picture, but it's a good genre picture.Zombie's done something difficult for most-he's learned from his missteps and stands on firmer ground. All in all this is a disturbing and yet-entertaining film.I recommend it strongly enough to say I'm buying the dvd when it comes out..... :classic:

Here's my 2 pennies... If you liked House of 1000 Corpses don't even bother with this movie! The movie works as a stand alone picture but not as a sequel. I was expecting to see something that was comparable to the 1st and was severly dissappointed. It might have to do with the fact that they were on the run and not at the spooky house of death. It was a great movie on it's own, but a horrible sequel.

:devious: I think I remember reading somewhere that Zombie said he wanted this film to stand alone rather than being thought of as sequel.Same characters-different situation-which I think works much better as the original was such a mess. The characters were much better realized and fleshed out-they were cartoonlike in the first film.

I liked the movie okay. I didn't know this was a follow up to 1000 corpses, so I might have to track that down. My favorite character was definetly the dad.

Just saw this movie over the weekend, Rob Zombie is one messed up guy. I didn't know much going into this movie (persuaded by friends) and I was surprised, in that it wasn't as gory as I thought, as in actual blood and guts stuff, i was kind of thinking something along the lines of the living dead or something like that, but this was one weird movie. Just seemed to be really creepy for the sake of being creepy.

does anyone happen to remember the dates this movie takes place? I think I remember it being 1977 or 1978, but does anyone remember the specific month and day(s)?

May 1978, something in the teens for the date (I think 13th)

Saw thus one again-had to see if I'd purchase the dvd-I think it holds up.Good Film.If you compare it to Hof1,000C it's probably the best sequel ever.
