Anyone else out there excited about madden 2006?

Yeah I was until i played it. The passing is way too complicated now with the new and crappy QB vision. Getting your running game going is also difficult and they changed up the controls, but at least it gives you the option to switch the controls back to madden 05. These complaints are probably because im using a team that is rated a 75 overall, the Bucs.

The SuperStar mode is kind of lame. The passing controls take some getting used to. I still make bad throws and I still end up holding the ball to long and getting sacked but that's realism. I think I'd rather have that than a game where the QB can be facing the opposite direction and throw a strike to a WR in double coverage. The stiff arm is a little hard to pull of on the Xbox but that's a controller constraint so it's not really EA's fault. I give them credit for trying to continue to innovate even though they don't really have to since they have the NFL license.

Me too! I always play the Bucs but the Griese Cone of Vision is rough. I played as the Colts the other day and it's a lot easier with Peyton

I fund running to be a bit easier this year though. I just need to practice some more

Yeah i just took the QB vision off and now that I've practiced its getting easier. I'm addicted to collecting the madden cards and finishing the mini games on All Madden difficulty. The superstar mode is fun, although i keep getting drafted by the raiders!

It's better than getting drafted by the Bears. And I'm a RB, too. I have to give Cedric Benson the shaft in the 2nd half just to get playing time. And the Bears blocking sucks. I'm thinking about starting over as a new position.

Yes start over until you are Semi happy with your position, skill, and playing time, thats what I did. Even though its kind of cheesy I picked a hall of fame QB for a dad. I started from day one and have been thowing bombs to Randy Moss ever since. Has anyone else had problems on the Xbox version? Two times in practice I was hiking and it froze but kept making the never ending "hut" noise. This was really annoying because it happened during a game where iwas racking up all kinds of madden challenge points and my favorite player, Micheal Clayton had 2 touchdowns and about 140 yards recieving. The game gets much better as you play more. :)
