I'll always place Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup at the top of my list but lately I've had an unhealthy obsession with the new Take 5 by Hershey. They are pretty good.

I don't blame you, I love the Take 5. It's the logical next step for the chocolate dipped pretzel. The only logical next step would be servants to serve them to you.

Do you mean a take five? It's a pretzel with the holes filling in with peanut butter topped with caramel and peanuts dipped in chocolate. They are really good.
My favorite snack from the UK is McVitties Digestives.

I dunno. There seems to be so much that I can't get here, and I don't even know what it is.
Is there something like a candy website?
I don't have a need for Oreos anymore, because several stores around here have started selling them (well, the ordinary kind ony, but that's okay). In fact I have two packs of Oreos within reach right now, but I want to turn them into an Oreo cheese cake.

Well from the UK my fav's are Maynard's Wine Gums and just plain Cadbury chocolate (it's so creamy).
Here in the states - Reese's Peanut Butter cups would be top on my list, followed by anything dark chocolate. I have been known to crave various Godiva and Lindt truffles though...
For anyone who's interested in an interesting nonfiction read about candy in general, I highly recommend:
Candyfreak: A Journey through the Chocolate Underbelly of America, by Steve Almond
The guy is fanatical about candy to a point of silliness, and the book is very funny, with several laugh-out-loud moments scattered throughout. A lot of info on regional mom-and-pop candy makers, and the struggles the small candy maker faces against the giants like Hershey and Mars (primarily distribution).
Oh, and mine's Kit Kat.

I could probably get a whole box Hershey's Take 5 for about 12 bucks if anyone is interested.

Oh man, id be up for buying / trading for a box of those bad boys!
Candy bar, feh...it is a chocolate bar!
Candy bar sounds like it is made out of melted together Jolly Ranchers
Mine is Wunderbar, followed by 100 Grand (actually 100G is better but they are so freakin' hard to find)
(Little cultural note here: Canadians, despite being next to the USA have closer tastes in chocolate bars to the UK than the USA. Mind you we do call fried potato snacks "chips", not crisps. We also call french fries chips as well. Which lead to a mildly amusing misunderstanding when I asked for fish and chips ina Florida restaurant. And we do not pronounce about a-boot. We say a-bowt. Clean your ears)

From Jun 20/83 Time magazine article (a little later than I thought *)
Dividends The quandary could be a case study at the Harvard Business School. The problem: a deadly disease breaks out that has a name that sounds the same as that of a well-known diet product. Question: What should the marketer do to avoid possible confusion?
Jeffrey Martin Inc., the distributor of Ayds appetite-suppressant candy, has faced just this issue since AIDS, or acquired immune deficiency syndrome, began getting public attention in mid-1981. Jeffrey Martin acquired the Ayds marketing rights from Purex at about the time of the first report of AIDS.
Sales of the diet candy had been sluggish for years when Jeffrey Martin took over the product. Says Martin Himmel, company president: "We have repackaged it, redesigned it, readvertised it and given it a new breath of life." Perhaps as a result, retailers say, the disease is not hurting the product. Says Elliot Dworkin, vice president of Revco D.S. Inc., which operates 1,661 drugstores in 28 states: "Ayds sales have never been better."

P.S. Norton, just talk to her.
So we are doing cross-thread-posting now?
Without guidance by lady luck I may have never seen this golden piece of advice.
Well, who am I kidding...the topic of candy will always draw me back.
Do you have Daim in the US? Caramel covered in chocolate - simple, yet absolutely great.

Same thing, different spelling of name, I guess.

I thought you were asking me if I had a girlfriend (misspelling "dame" - like the really old slang for "chick"). And then adding the non-sequitur of chocolate-covered caramel being great. I have never heard of the candy you are speaking of.

Do I look like CarlosMucha?
(For safety reasons I provide the correct answer: No!)
When I type Daim I mean Daim.
And it looks I have found candy I can trade! I'll go and buy some on Tuesday.

Heh heh! Yeah cause I invented the damned things, right? I'm as much a victim as you are. Soon Cousin Norton will be hooked and he'll have to send me many many clix to get more! I'll have to change my name to CandyMan! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHA!!!
And I'm hooked!
Thanks for the boatload of candy, Frank!
Obviously when my parents taught me to never accept candy from a stranger they wanted me to miss out.
When I run out of Take 5s (tomorrow at the latest) I'll have to emulate them by eating Snickers and pretzels at the same time.
Strange enough, though, the Snickers you sent along tasted differently than the Snickers bars I'm used to. Somehow it was a lot sweeter.
Can anybody confirm that candy of the same brand may taste differently in different countries?

My all time favorite is Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, especially Fast Break. I'm starting to really like the Willy Wonka bar.

I don't feel so good.
Since I lose all willpower I otherwise may have in the presence of candy I couldn't hold myself back.
I started with an Almond Joy. It was okay, but not like I had imagined it to be. I thought it would be creamier.
Then I had a Take 5. I really liked it.
While I was at it I thought I could have a king size Snickers instead of lunch. As noted before it tasted a lot sweeter than Snickers bars available here. That was strange.
As an afternoon snack I had a 100 Grand. Lots of chewy caramel, that was great.
By then I was feeling a little sick, but I wouldn't let me held back to that.
So I ate a Toll House Rich Brownie. That really rocked my socks off. My favourite out of the bunch, because there isn't anything comparable available here.
I made hot dogs for dinner to ease my stomach pain. Didn't work that well.
Since it didn't seem to make any difference anymore I had a serving of ReeseSticks as desert. The salty taste of the peant butter made me like this a lot, too. The peanut butter you get here usually is too sweet.
After taking in about 12000 calories today I better live on a spoonfull of water for the next few days, but it was a pleasent experience.
Biting off heads is my favourite pastime.

You are going down a dangerous path.
I had to give my last Take 5 away to break the spell, only to have the friend I gave it to return and tell me how good it was...
