Appropriate to post ebay links in this forum?
Thanks,
BKB
This policy is under review, but for the time being, no, ebay links are not allowed.
NO, Here is the deal ladies and gentleman. This is not ebay. If you want to buy or sell things at ebay go ahead and enjoy yourself. Ebay is a seperate site and posting to ebay is similar to soliciting to that site.
Here we have created a community where it is somewhat safe to trade (as safe as online trading is going to be). If you would like to do a sale or auction on here I encourage you and wish you luck (no fees for doing so either :) )
Another point is that allowing links to ebay opens up a WHOLE new mess of online vendors. We would get people who have ONE heroclix figure on there sales thread and then a bunch of other JUNK. Or a bunch of threads that take over the Trade realms and make impossible for actual trading to happen.
Finally, Allowing ebay links at the moment I PERSONALLY feel would be unhealthy to the realms and would not promote communtiy or the game of heroclix.
Good day and good trading

And yet there is a featured article on the main page with a site contributor pimping his factory sets.
Regardless of the donation being made, 90% of the profit is still going into Typhons pocket.
I think some uniformity of philosophy among the mods would be a good thing. The “do as I say not as I do” approach is pretty frustrating.
I as a moderator have nothing to do with that particular posting, and while I lament that it has been done. There is nothing I can do about it. I do not think ebay would be healthy for the realms in general and would cause a plethora of problems if allowed. Please bear with us and look at the consequences. Also, way the negatives and positives of ebay. Here you are not OVER priced for shipping and there is some sense of knowledge of who the person you are trading with is (call it kinship).

100% in agreement.
If there does end up that ebay links are allowed, I can only pray that a seperate Ebay board is put up to keep the spam away from the regular trade thread.

Most people who complained are being unreasonable about the whole thing, anyway.

I don't play the game. I collect the little peices of plastic because I have fond memories of the comic charaters and then got addicted to herocrack.
Ok, I do use both ebay and HCRealms (Plug-I have a good rating over there as well under the same name- Thank you Mr. Constantcy).. I think most people are aware of Ebay and can easily find what they want by going over there.
You want the money- put up with the hassle of Ebay. You want to sell or trade come to HCRealms.
Putting Ebay links here makes as much sense as Canadians putting links on there free Ebay auctions (Do they still have free Canada days?) to here to avoid giving up there selling fees. Think Ebay would allow that?
There are only so many members trading/selling here at any given time. There is a whole lot more personal feel on this site. Giving this as free advertisement space for Ebay will kill the 'community' plus- What if someone sees your Ebay link and bid but don't send my money? Then you see them active on here and start harrassing me about it- Guess what? Your in the wrong! Different site. I'm pretty sure Rock isn't wanting to get involved in what happens on an Ebay auction. Reverse- Ebay auctioners getting good marks over hear because of there Ebay sales. I feel pretty confident dealing with MadMav and others because of there high ratings. Ebay sellers get mixed in and the rating system gets trashed.
True, if the higher ups on the board are doing it makes it hard for everybody else but just because a President screws his people to keep gas prices inflated doesn't mean it makes it right..
Or maybe its all because of this darn wisdom tooth. I don't know...

I'm in total agreement Rock. HCrealms should be about gaming, trading and collecting; leave the profiting to ebay. I was just expressing frustration at things that are allowed to some and not others.
This has been discussed, set aside, picked back up and discussed again, and now it really should just be dropped. Most people who complained are being unreasonable about the whole thing, anyway.
First let me say, your statement comes across as extremely elitist. I'm pleased you read the boards on a daily basis. I, however, do not. Your beratement about “dropping it” is baseless in this conversation, as one cannot be expected to follow every conversation that occurs on this board. Next time, why don’t you express your exasperations when you are sure all parties involved in the thread have not participated in other discussions of which you reference.
Nothing is more annoying than members who make a point of pointing out that something has already been discussed like they expect a reward for it. If you are expecting one please pat yourself on the back, from me, for a job well done. :noid:
Glad I asked, although I didn't mean stir up an obviously much discussed topic. Sorry! :nervous: :o
Later,
