"Sorry about that, Chief."

Gee whiz, first Gilligan a few weeks ago, and now Get Smart leaves us.

That was a great show. Combined silly humor with some really sharp parodies of the spy movie genre. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

And let's not forget his roles as the voices of Tennessee Tuxedo and Inspector Gadget...

"Missed it by *that* much..."

He was a great voice artist as well. But he'll always be Max first and foremost for me.

"Get Smart" had one of the best opening-credits bits in TV history. Also, the shoe phone was great, and the Cone of Silence was classic comedy whenever they did it.

OH NOOOO!

I'm thoroughly upset by this. I'm too young to have seen Get Smart in first run, but I saw it when Nick at Night first ran it like 12 years ago and absolutely loved it.

:( Abe is sad.

One of my favorite gags from "Get Smart":

Max and an old army buddy (played by Don Rickles) are trying to sneak out of Max's apartment building and avoid KAOS assassins. But in the alley, they are confronted by three KAOS agents--one in front and one to either side. Max pulls out a pistol and fires a single shot. All three enemy agents fall dead. We then see that the gun has three barrells, sticking out in three directions. It's a gun designed for just such a situation.

But the true punchline comes a moment later. Max puts the gun on top of one of the dead agents.

RICKLES: "What are you doing?"

MAX: "Making it look like suicide."

Simply brilliant.
seconded.

Gosh, Frank Gorshin, Bob Denver, and now Don Adams....... methinks tis time for a conspiracy theory.
Maybe Kaos did them in?
the questions is why? what would be the gain? What is the possible gain?
Maybe Kaos is a real organization???
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ where's Agent 99? has anyone seen her lately? What about agents 36, 22, and 34? THis could be bad, real bad.

Ok so how does that explain Nipsey Russell? The unholy quadrangle?

Nipsy was the "Poet Laureate" and a game show mainstay.

The "Original Gansta" himself. Busting Rhymes long before these other potty mouthed imposters.

Actually Bob Denver completes the triumverate of James Doohan (Scotty), Frank Gorshin and Gilligan.

Nipsy is obviously the second pillar in the second triumverate:

Don Adams, Nipsy, ??????

I think we should start speculating.
