Welcome everyone to this edition of THIS WEEK IN COMIC’S!!!!!!
ROCK’S MUST READ COMICS OF THE WEEK
1) CABLE DEADPOOL #21 $2.99
THE STORY: “BOSOM BUDDIES”
Power Man & Iron Fist vs. Cable & Deadpool! Totally `Nuff Said! (We know Power Man is known as Cage now, but it sounds better to say it the old way when you have the ampersand in there!)
Plus, the BAD Girls mess up the thief who stole the Dominus Objective computer drive! And what the heck is the Dominus Objective anyway? Part 2 (of 4).
2) GHOST RIDER #2
THE STORY: “ROAD TO DAMNATION”
Given the chance to get out of hell, the Ghost Rider agrees to track down the rogue demon, Kazaan, who’s escaped to Earth and is having the time of his life. But the Rider is not alone. Two other entities are tracking Kazaan: a redneck demon named Hoss and a sultry archangel named Ruth. Part 2 (of 6).
3) INFINITE CRISIS #1 (OF 7)
It's finally here: the comics event so massive that it built over the first half of 2005, through COUNTDOWN, DAY OF VENGEANCE, RANN/THANAGAR WAR, VILLAINS UNITED and THE OMAC PROJECT! Prepare for the dawn of the DCU's darkest day in INFINITE CRISIS, a 7-issue miniseries written by Geoff Johns (GREEN LANTERN, JSA) with art by Phil Jimenez (OTHERWORLD, Uncanny X-Men) & Andy Lanning (OTHERWORLD) and covers by George Pérez (CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS) and Jim Lee (BATMAN, SUPERMAN) & Sandra hope! Surrounded by their most fearsome enemies, the world's greatest heroes are divided within and without.
DC's icons — Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman — are joined by Nightwing, Supergirl, Donna Troy, Superboy, Robin, Wonder Girl, Green Lantern, the Flash and more as they face their most dire hour. What happens next will destroy friendships and lives, dictating the direction of the universe for the next generation!
Years in the making, the greatest event to hit the DCU in over two decades is about to explode — don't miss out!
4) NIGHTWING #113 $2.50
A VILLAINS UNITED tie in! #### Grayson is working for…Deathstroke the Terminator? Nightwing is no more — #### Grayson's in a new outfit, and he's got a brand-new bag of dirty tricks. And those who thought he was simply "going undercover" are in for a rude awakening…
5) Villian’s United #6 of 6 $2.50
The red-hot miniseries comes to its deadly conclusion as the secret identity of the mysterious Mockingbird is revealed! This shocking revelation promises to shake the DCU to its core and leads straight into 2005's biggest event: Infinite Crisis!
6) JLA #120
Don't miss the first two chapters of "World Without a Justice League," written by Bob Harras (Avengers, BREACH) with art by Tom Derenick (BIRDS OF PREY) & Dan Green (JLA) and covers by Daniel Acuña (Claus & Simon), shipping biweekly in October!
There has been a great Crisis of Conscience, and the JLA as we know it is no more. Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman are at odds…now it's time for Aquaman, Green Arrow, and Black Canary to bring the League back to basics. But this World Without a Justice League may be just what an old villain with some new tricks has been hoping for!
7) WILDCATS NEMESIS #2 (OF 9)
WildStorm's hot new miniseries continues! Nemesis has taken her hostage — the child Kara — to a safe house in Manhattan while she plots her next move…until a Daemonite assault force disrupts everything! Meanwhile, learn the tumultuous past Nemesis shares with Zealot — and the truth is astounding
8) FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN #1
THE STORY: “THE OTHER”
This is it! The start of the 4-month Spider-Man event that crosses over all three core Spider books and promises to forever change the lives of Peter Parker and everyone close to him!
Haunted by unsettling dreams. Disturbed by a growing sense of dread. Convinced that people are out to get him. A portrait of someone on the edge of a nervous breakdown? Nah. Simply a typical day for Peter Parker, as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has to contend with a new and deadly opponent named Tracer, self-defense lessons with Captain America, and some disturbing news that will change his life in a distinctly negative manner. Part 1 (of 12)!
9) ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN #84
THE STORY: “WARRIORS"
The Gangwar comes to a head in Hammerhead’s stylish pad as Spidey, Black Cat, Shang-Chi and Iron Fist battle it out with Hammerhead and the Kingpin’s assassin Elektra to decide the fate of New York’s Underworld. Will all of them survive? Plus, more of the mysterious Moon Knight. And on whose side does he fight? Part 6 (of 7).
10) X-MEN #176
THE STORY: “WILD KINGDOM”
The X-Men’s team-up with Black Panther continues! With the X-Men captured, Storm and Black Panther are going to have to put their differences aside and work together before all of Africa is overrun with mutated monstrosities! Part 3 (of 4)!
Good day to all this week!!! Wow does DC Comics seem to knock me off my feet in terms of the comics they are producing. It just seems to me that the writing is so much better than anyone else, along with the art work. I have to say I was not all that impressed with the marvel selection this week or last week for that matter, but I think as soon as the House of M saga is over we should have some good stories. For Marvel Spiderman stuck out as the dominant title for the week as his new mini series hits us and then Ultimate Spiderman is always a good read. With the DC Universe I probably could have put half of the coming out list for them, they are just…Wow!!! Many of them are good reads; I am always a fan of Nightwing and the JLA title seems to have the feel of the old Justice league Europe and International, two of my favorite titles (Guy Gardner anyone?). The biggest title for this week has to be the Identity Crisis mini-series. The last one was a knock down drag out comic that just left you clamoring for more, great series and I will be excited to see if we get to see the Wildstorm universe get dragged into this one and maybe even some of the other earth’s (CSA Earth-1 anyone?). Who knows maybe a few dead heroes might resurface. Until next week, good reading.
