10) CAPTAIN ATOM: ARMAGEDDON #1 (OF 9)

One of the DCU's mightiest champions explodes straight from the pages of SUPERMAN/BATMAN and into the WildStorm Universe! Plus, this special debut issue features two covers: one by award-winning painter Alex Ross and the other by fan-favorite Jim Lee!

ROCK’S THOUGHTS THIS WEEK

GOOD DAY TO ALL, and WOW this was a tough week for picking what comics to read. I think there are a ton of great writers out there at the moment, but only a few really capture the comic fan in me. Marvel has a strong showing with Spiderman THE OTHER and has me looking to the future with spiderman (Please don’t be a Scarlet Spider type of thing though-I will be upset). There are a lot of X titles coming out this week, but…They have all been done. There are way too many X titles on the market and often enough they seem dry and unoriginal (personal opinion). However, the other titles within marvel seem to shine this week. She Hulk returning to comics is very nice as she is always a good read. Cable and Deadpool may be the best comic out there right now and the most consistent for your money. Marvel aside; is DC making there money off of Batman or what? Batman today may be there best title(s) around. In the last month I have not seen a bad title that involved the Dark Knight and I am really liking the Gotham Knights series. Green Lantern is strong as always, the Return of Hal and the rest of the corps make for a good read. FINALLY Captain Atom makes his return, but in the Wildstorm universe. Thank god he is going to stay out of the Infinite Crisis drama, he got shelved the last time he was involved and Captain Atom is my personal favorite DC hero to date (next to Barry Allen of course). Just plainly a lot of good reads out there. I did leave a few out that may have some strong showing and one of those is the Ultimate fantastic four. I really don’t know what to make of the appearance of Namor in the Ultimate universe. We will see how that goes, but until next week. Good day and good reading!!!!
