Buy the Collectors Edition of City of Villians for $70
Next take out all the CoH/CoV figs and sell them on Ebay for about $100
Bang - $30 profit plus a new video game.
And by the way the figs are selling for about thus:
Manticore - $13
Positron - $11
Statesman - $10
Black Scorpion - $10
Captain Mako - $10
Ghost Widow - $25
Lord Recluse - $20
As we can see, the more playable they are the more they are worth, although by that logic Mako should be worth more than Recluse but he is only available in the box.
Me, I'd keep Ghost Widow and sell the rest. Especially since I already have the CoH figs.

I've actually considered doing the exact opposite. Buying the game, with all of the LE's, and then selling the LE's to recoup some of my losses.

How is that the opposite? That's exactly what I said.
Buy the game. Sell the LEs

Yea, could do that to. Assuming you could sell the game for about $30-$0 bucks that wouldn't be to to much to pay for all the figs.

When COH came out, I bought it as a gift formy son-not realizing that it was an online game. I gave my son the money, and sold the game on Ebay, and ended up making a profit on it. Mostly, people were interested in the code key.

That's my plan. I have no interest in actually playing the game at all (despite it being rather interesting). So I'll sell the game and recoup at least a little of my losses. Either way I get the 7 figures a lot cheaper than if I bought them off eBay (less than 10 bucks a fig).

That's exactly what I did. Bought the game for $70. Sold it online for $40... paid $30 for 7 figures... which is definitely worth it to me. You won't have a problem selling the game on eBay if you go this route. Mine sold w/i hours of posting it.
If they were really selling in order of playability I'd say the order would be
Ghost Widow
Manticore
Captain Mako
Positron
Statesman
Black Scorpion
Lord Recluse
Those last three could possibly be changed....
Manticore is a BEAST on the field...he is uber fun to play as well as very competitive.

all i did was hang out in the game store on release date, found a guy buying the regular version, then i offered to pay the difference ($20) to bump him up to the collectors version. i let him keep all the extras sans the COV clix which i would get. didnt take long to find someone to do this, AND I got the store receipt for the game so i can recoup my ghost widow in time....so i am getting all 7 of mine for a cool $20

Maybe you guys should start making YOUR OWN games and then sell them to the US at ridiculous prices. Oh wait... Games Workshop.
