This game is freaking *awesome*.
I just got it tuesday.
It takes the first game and improves on it. Especially places like Yavin4
Now you can play as jedi and other special characters like Bobba and Jango Fett, Chewbacca etc. I can't wait to be either Bobba or Jango.
I played as Yoda and Chewwie so far and a blue jedi babe that had 2 light sabers.
Yoda moves and fights just like he does in the movies!
The gameplay is great.
Just a few minor changes from the original such as you no longer command troops right off the bat-you have to first upgrade to the class of soldier that has the command ability-then you get to lead some troops.
There is so much going on that you don't miss that ability really.
There is a points and medal system now too that allows udgrades etc to your characters ability in combat. You have to gain a certain amount of points in battle to unlock other characters to use. It's sorta kewl and rewarding. You also get weapons upgrades this way. :devious:
The new look for the Wookies is awesome. They have braided hair. They are tougher now too and can take more punishment in battle.
The vehicles are more easy to kill as the only time you get pilots on the battlefield now is while in space. There are space battles galore in this version.
Pilots on the ground have been replaced by engineers now that build/repair and supply the troops instead.
The Jedi are fantastic. They are very real looking and the gameplay is smoooooth.
There is a new alien available as a spy that cloaks and infiltrates, and a 4 player vs mode that is very Halo-like.
Also a few new vehicles that are way kewl looking and fun to operate. You have to really dodge and attack to stay alive now while piloting one.
I give this 2 thumbs and a BIG TOE up way up.
The Jedi can even get into vehicles but watch out! If you get nuked while in it you're dead. They can respawn after a while.
Whenever a jedi enters the battle-the game gives you the option to play as that character if you want. They have a timer though and this makes you stay aggressive with that character as the timer replenishes as you kill stuff.
You can stay a jedi for the entire battle if you do it right. The gameplay is so good it makes you want to kill stuff jedi style!
Plus there are alien animal predators to kill or be killed by.
I'd say this game is a cross between the Halo and Mech Assault games.
Get this game for sure RIGHT NOW if you are a Star Wars fan because it's gonna fly off the shelves before Xmas... :knockedou
