I went GL. Actually next time they remake Hal, I'd like them to do this. I think all the GL's deserve their own figure, but I also want them to keep Hal Tourney Legal. This would be a good way to make remakes "different"

I voted for Colossal Boy. Legion rocks. I would have voted for Trigon or Specter, but they NEED to be "uber" figures in the Galactus/Phoenix class, not mere 11 click giant figures.

Most of those other characters I either don't know (like Blitzkrieg or Holocost), or don't deserve to be made as Giants (King Joker, Extant, Brainiac, Starro), or don't deserve to be made as figures at all (Sun Eater, come on, it eats suns. Tangentially that's bad for heroes, but it's not something that runs around punching people, make it a BFC or something).

Also, I do miss Manitou Raven, and Shrinking Violet/Leviathan, and Chemo, and Doomsday Rex, and Imperiex Probe, and Validus. Each would easilly replace anyone on that list other than Colossal Boy (modern) or Atom Smasher.

And I LOVE GLs, but I don't need a giant contruct, I need more GLs (although a sheet of GL construct pogs would be sweet).

I hope that poll list has nothing to do with WK's list.

Er, who's Reflex and Blitzkrieg? By 'Holocust' do you mean Brimstone, the skull-faced flaming robot that Darksied sicced on Earth a couple of times? Spectre, Trigon, Moniter and his evil twin all need to be Sentinal sized at least, probably Galactus-sized. Starro should also be Sentinal sized. The Sun-Eater is a big black cloud that floats through space eating suns, it doesn't shot lasers or punch you in the face. Monarch/Extant is a normal sized person. Where's Giganta, Chemo, Validus, and Apache Chief/Manitou Raven?

Yeah... *sorry* I remember when I first saw the Sentinal... I asked people if there was ANY chance of modding him to be Validus? Saddly the answer was no... though I do have a scarlet witch in green to be Emerald Eye, a MK figure to be persuder( who now has a fig) and got a Mako. But no Validus...

However I had to vote they gave me... and that was Gim. I think I would be equally happy with Validus, Leviathan or LeVIathan. Any legion related fig would be awesome.

First and foremost: A HUGE thank you to Wizkids for this idea. Regardless of who appears in this collector's set, your willingness to try to please the players and fans of comics reflects very well on you all.

With that said, I have to admit to being perplexed by that list of big characters. I'm a pretty well-read DC freak and I don't recognize about 20% of that list. Of those I do recognize, I didn't know that many of them were giant sized. Fastbak, for example: he's either one of the New Gods or he's that turtle who works with Captain Carrot. As far as I know, they're both standard-sized or smaller characters. Weird.

This may already have been covered in the 60-some posts that precede mine. I am too lazy to read all that.

Although I like most of the characters on the list, I would have expected to see some of the following as candidates:

Brimstone
Chemo
Validus
Manitou Raven

If any of those had been on the list, they would have garnered my vote for favorite. I like those 4 more than any of the others on the list.

This is not coming from an enraged (deranged?) fan with an inappropriate sense of entitlement. Generally speaking, I like the characters that I recognize from the candidate list and I will definitely seek out this collector's set whoever appears in it. I'm just a tad disappointed. That's all.

How did Validus get left off this list? Why on earth did characters like Fastbak and Reflex make it and not Validus?

I thought Fastbak was the super speed god for New Genesis. If Reflex was a Sovereign Seven character, then from what I remember he wasn't much anyway. This was during Claremont's heaviest female empowerment stage and any guy he wrote couldn't do much more then look stupid compared to the females in his books. If you doubt me, just look at the second Contest of Champions. The only male that had any impact in the book was Wolverine, and that was probably an editorial edict. Claremont can be a good writer, but he isn't when he gets trapped in his own cliches.

Now here I certainly agree. I think it's a smart move for WizKids to have a version of each favorite character in every single set, be it Marvel (Spiderman, Wolverine, etc) or DC (Superman, GL, Batman). Not only would it force them to innovate in order to please the hard-core audience, but it would maintain a "Stable of Stars" to attract would-be clixers into the mix. I already found a new guy that wants to go to the New Guy Night planned for January -- if not only to check out a unique Superman character.

Basically, a smaller, green version of big fig Sinestro, with or without the embeded figure (generic GL).

He's The Spectre. JSA TA w/Phasing, Exploit Weakness, Incap, Outwit and Perplex. A giant fig that can use Brilliant Tactician.

Starro:
Should at least include a Few Starro bystander pogs with Poison and Plasticity. Could be considered an archenemy of JLA team members. I want my giant, hypnotic starfish that looks like Captain America's shield NOW!

Wouldn't mind seeing Validus at Sentinel-size, but that's kind of an unlikely scenario anyhow. The only time we're getting big figs anymore are as con exclusives and maybe as Clix Bricks offers. I don't see Validus being popular enough to offer as either one of those. Spectre, Anti-Monitor and maybe Trigon should be reserved for those slots. Maybe Starro as well, just because there's no way to fit him on a standard dial.

But for the giants set? I think it'll be:

Nope, it was in either Flash or Wonder Woman. I Think it was flash. they had a crossover and It was in the first part. The story involved Cheetah and Zoom getting together and Giganta was just there to help the heroes meet in the beginning.

Story ended with Zoom joining Lex's Society.

FYI it was actually the first time I saw Giganta in an actual comic. I always thought she was like Apache Chief and Black Vulcan. Made for the Cartoon. I also saw her later in a Villians United book, but I don't remember what she did.
